tài ěr wáng xī lán , píng sù ài dà wèi ; tā tīng jiàn yǐ sè liè rén gāo suǒ luó mén , jiē xù tā fù qīn zuò wáng , jiù chāi qiǎn chén pú lái jiàn tā 。

Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father, and Hiram had always loved David.

suǒ luó mén yě chāi qiǎn rén qù jiàn xī lán , shuō :

Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,

「 nǐ zhī dào wǒ fù qīn dà wèi yīn sì wéi de zhēng zhàn , bù néng wèi yē hé huá — tā shén de míng jiàn diàn , zhí děng dào yē hé huá shǐ chóu dí dōu fú zài tā jiǎo xià 。

“You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of the LORD his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until the LORD put his enemies under the soles of his feet.

使

xiàn zài yē hé huá — wǒ de shén shǐ wǒ sì wéi píng ān , méi yǒu chóu dí , méi yǒu zāi huò 。

But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side. There is no enemy and no evil occurrence.

殿:『使殿。』

wǒ dìng yì yào wèi yē hé huá — wǒ shén de míng jiàn diàn , shì zhào yē hé huá yīng xǔ wǒ fù qīn dà wèi de huà shuō :『 wǒ bì shǐ nǐ ér zi jiē xù nǐ zuò nǐ de wèi , tā bì wèi wǒ de míng jiàn diàn 。』

Behold, I intend to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place shall build the house for my name.’

suǒ yǐ qiú nǐ fēn fù nǐ de pú rén zài lí bā nèn wèi wǒ kǎn fá xiāng bǎi mù , wǒ de pú rén yě bì bāng zhù tā men , wǒ bì zhào nǐ suǒ dìng de , gěi nǐ pú rén de gōng jià ; yīn wèi nǐ zhī dào , zài wǒ men zhōng jiān méi yǒu rén xiàng xī dùn rén shàn yú kǎn fá shù mù 。」

Now therefore command that cedar trees be cut for me out of Lebanon. My servants will be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you say. For you know that there is nobody among us who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.”

xī lán tīng jiàn suǒ luó mén de huà , jiù shèn xǐ yuè , shuō :「 jīn rì yīng dāng chēng sòng yē hé huá ; yīn tā cì gěi dà wèi yí gè yǒu zhì huì de ér zi , zhì lǐ zhè zhòng duō de mín 。」

When Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly, and said, “Blessed is the LORD today, who has given to David a wise son to rule over this great people.”

xī lán dǎ fā rén qù jiàn suǒ luó mén , shuō :「 nǐ chāi qiǎn rén xiàng wǒ suǒ tí de nà shì , wǒ dōu tīng jiàn le ; lùn dào xiāng bǎi mù hé sōng mù , wǒ bì zhào nǐ de xīn yuàn ér xíng 。

Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, “I have heard the message which you have sent to me. I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning cypress timber.

。」

wǒ de pú rén bì jiāng zhè mù liào cóng lí bā nèn yùn dào hǎi lǐ , zhā chéng fá zǐ , fú hǎi yùn dào nǐ suǒ zhǐ dìng wǒ de dì fāng , zài nà lǐ chāi kāi , nǐ jiù kě yǐ shōu qǔ ; nǐ yě yào chéng quán wǒ de xīn yuàn , jiāng shí wù gěi wǒ de jiā 。」

My servants will bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you specify to me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and you will receive them. You will accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.”

yú shì xī lán zhào zhe suǒ luó mén suǒ yào de , gěi tā xiāng bǎi mù hé sōng mù ;

So Hiram gave Solomon cedar timber and cypress timber according to all his desire.

suǒ luó mén gěi xī lán mài zi èr wàn gē ěr , qīng yóu èr shí gē ěr , zuò tā jiā de shí wù 。 suǒ luó mén měi nián dōu shì zhè yàng gěi xī lán 。

Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat for food to his household, and twenty cors of pure oil. Solomon gave this to Hiram year by year.

yē hé huá zhào zhe suǒ yìng xǔ de cì zhì huì gěi suǒ luó mén 。 xī lán yǔ suǒ luó mén hé hǎo , bǐ cǐ lì yuē 。

The LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him. There was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together.

suǒ luó mén wáng cóng yǐ sè liè rén zhōng tiāo qǔ fú kǔ de rén gòng yǒu sān wàn ,

King Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.

pài tā men lún liú měi yuè yī wàn rén shàng lí bā nèn qù ; yí gè yuè zài lí bā nèn , liǎng gè yuè zài jiā lǐ 。 yà duō ní lán zhǎng guǎn tā men 。

He sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: for a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home; and Adoniram was over the men subject to forced labor.

suǒ luó mén yòng qī wàn káng tái de , bā wàn zài shān shàng záo shí tou de 。

Solomon had seventy thousand who bore burdens, and eighty thousand who were stone cutters in the mountains,

cǐ wài , suǒ luó mén yòng sān qiān sān bǎi dū gōng de , jiān guǎn gōng rén 。

besides Solomon’s chief officers who were over the work: three thousand three hundred who ruled over the people who labored in the work.

wáng xià lìng , rén jiù záo chū yòu dà yòu bǎo guì de shí tou lái , yòng yǐ lì diàn de gēn jī 。

The king commanded, and they cut out large stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with worked stone.

殿

suǒ luó mén de jiàng rén hé xī lán de jiàng rén , bìng jiā bā lè rén , dōu jiāng shí tou záo hǎo , yù bèi mù liào hé shí tou jiàn diàn 。

Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders and the Gebalites cut them, and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.
