yóu dà wáng yà hā xiè de ér zi yuē ā shī èr shí sān nián , yē hù de ér zi yuē hā sī zài sā mǎ lì yà dēng jī zuò yǐ sè liè wáng shí qī nián 。

In the twenty-third year of Joash the son of Ahaziah, king of Judah, Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria for seventeen years.

使

yuē hā sī xíng yē hé huá yǎn zhōng kàn wèi è de shì , xiào fǎ ní bā de ér zi yē luó bō ān shǐ yǐ sè liè rén xiàn zài zuì lǐ de nà zuì , zǒng bù lí kāi 。

He did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin. He didn’t depart from it.

便

yú shì , yē hé huá de nù qì xiàng yǐ sè liè rén fā zuò , jiāng tā men lǚ cì jiāo zài yà lán wáng hā xuē hé tā ér zi biàn hǎ dá de shǒu lǐ 。

The LORD’s anger burned against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, continually.

yuē hā sī kěn qiú yē hé huá , yē hé huá jiù yīng yǔn tā , yīn wèi jiàn yǐ sè liè rén suǒ shòu yà lán wáng de qī yā 。

Jehoahaz begged the LORD, and the LORD listened to him; for he saw the oppression of Israel, how the king of Syria oppressed them.

使

yē hé huá cì gěi yǐ sè liè rén yí wèi zhěng jiù zhě , shǐ tā men tuō lí yà lán rén de shǒu ; yú shì yǐ sè liè rén réng jiù ān jū zài jiā lǐ 。

(The LORD gave Israel a savior, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians; and the children of Israel lived in their tents as before.

使

rán ér , tā men bù lí kāi yē luó bō ān jiā shǐ yǐ sè liè rén xiàn zài zuì lǐ de nà zuì , réng rán qù xíng , bìng qiě zài sā mǎ lì yà liú xià yà shè lā 。

Nevertheless they didn’t depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, with which he made Israel to sin, but walked in them; and the Asherah also remained in Samaria.)

yà lán wáng miè jué yuē hā sī de mín , jiàn tà tā men rú hé chǎng shàng de chén shā , zhī gěi yuē hā sī liú xià wǔ shí mǎ bīng , shí liàng zhàn chē , yí wàn bù bīng 。

For he didn’t leave to Jehoahaz of the people any more than fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria destroyed them and made them like the dust in threshing.

yuē hā sī qí yú de shì , fán tā suǒ xíng de hé tā de yǒng lì dōu xiě zài yǐ sè liè zhū wáng jì shàng 。

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

yuē hā sī yǔ tā liè zǔ tóng shuì , zàng zài sā mǎ lì yà 。 tā ér zi yuē ā shī jiē xù tā zuò wáng 。

Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria; and Joash his son reigned in his place.

yóu dà wáng yuē ā shī sān shí qī nián , yuē hā sī de ér zi yuē ā shī zài sā mǎ lì yà dēng jī zuò yǐ sè liè wáng shí liù nián 。

In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz began to reign over Israel in Samaria for sixteen years.

tā xíng yē hé huá yǎn zhōng kàn wèi è de shì , bù lí kāi ní bā de ér zǐ yē luó bō ān shǐ yǐ sè liè rén xiàn zài zuì lǐ de yí qiè zuì , réng rán qù xíng 。

He did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight. He didn’t depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin; but he walked in them.

yuē ā shī qí yú de shì , fán tā suǒ xíng de hé tā yǔ yóu dà wáng yà mǎ xiè zhēng zhàn de yǒng lì , dōu xiě zài yǐ sè liè zhū wáng jì shàng 。

Now the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his might with which he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

yuē ā shī yǔ tā liè zǔ tóng shuì , yē luó bō ān zuò le tā de wèi 。 yuē ā shī yǔ yǐ sè liè zhū wáng yì tóng zàng zài sā mǎ lì yà 。

Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat on his throne. Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.

yǐ lì shā dé le bì sǐ de bìng , yǐ sè liè wáng yuē ā shī xià lái kàn tā , fú zài tā liǎn shàng kū qì , shuō :「 wǒ fù a ! wǒ fù a ! yǐ sè liè de zhàn chē mǎ bīng a !」

Now Elisha became sick with the illness of which he died; and Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over him, and said, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!”

yǐ lì shā duì tā shuō :「 nǐ qǔ gōng jiàn lái 。」 wáng jiù qǔ le gōng jiàn lái ;

Elisha said to him, “Take bow and arrows;” and he took bow and arrows for himself.

:「。」

yòu duì yǐ sè liè wáng shuō :「 nǐ yòng shǒu ná gōng 。」 wáng jiù yòng shǒu ná gōng 。 yǐ lì shā àn shǒu zài wáng de shǒu shàng ,

He said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow;” and he put his hand on it. Elisha laid his hands on the king’s hands.

shuō :「 nǐ kāi cháo dōng de chuāng hù 。」 tā jiù kāi le 。 yǐ lì shā shuō :「 shè jiàn ba !」 tā jiù shè jiàn 。 yǐ lì shā shuō :「 zhè shì yē hé huá de dé shèng jiàn , jiù shì zhàn shèng yà lán rén de jiàn ; yīn wèi nǐ bì zài yà fú gōng dǎ yà lán rén , zhí dào miè jìn tā men 。」

He said, “Open the window eastward;” and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot!” and he shot. He said, “The LORD’s arrow of victory, even the arrow of victory over Syria; for you will strike the Syrians in Aphek until you have consumed them.”

yǐ lì shā yòu shuō :「 qǔ jǐ zhī jiàn lái 。」 tā jiù qǔ le lái 。 yǐ lì shā shuō :「 dǎ dì ba !」 tā dǎ le sān cì , biàn zhǐ zhù le 。

He said, “Take the arrows;” and he took them. He said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground;” and he struck three times, and stopped.

shén rén xiàng tā fā nù , shuō :「 yīng dāng jī dǎ wǔ liù cì , jiù néng gōng dǎ yà lán rén zhí dào miè jìn ; xiàn zài zhǐ néng dǎ bài yà lán rén sān cì 。」

The man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times. Then you would have struck Syria until you had consumed it, but now you will strike Syria just three times.”

yǐ lì shā sǐ le , rén jiāng tā zàng mái 。 dào le xīn nián , yǒu yì qún mó yā rén fàn jìng ,

Elisha died, and they buried him. Now the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.

yǒu rén zhèng zàng sǐ rén , hū rán kàn jiàn yì qún rén , jiù bǎ sǐ rén pāo zài yǐ lì shā de fén mù lǐ , yí pèng zhe yǐ lì shā de hái gǔ , sǐ rén jiù fù huó , zhàn qǐ lái le 。

As they were burying a man, behold, they saw a band of raiders; and they threw the man into Elisha’s tomb. As soon as the man touched Elisha’s bones, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

yuē hā sī nián jiān , yà lán wáng hā xuē lǚ cì qī yā yǐ sè liè rén 。

Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.

yē hé huá què yīn yǔ yà bó lā hǎn 、 yǐ sā 、 yǎ gè suǒ lì de yuē , réng shī ēn gěi yǐ sè liè rén , lián xù tā men , juàn gù tā men , bù kěn miè jìn tā men , shàng wèi gǎn zhú tā men lí kāi zì jǐ miàn qián 。

But the LORD was gracious to them, and had compassion on them, and favored them because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them and he didn’t cast them from his presence as yet.

yà lán wáng hā xuē sǐ le , tā ér zi biàn · hǎ dá jiē xù tā zuò wáng 。

Hazael king of Syria died; and Benhadad his son reigned in his place.

便

cóng qián hā xuē hé yuē ā shī de fù qīn yuē hā sī zhēng zhàn , gōng qǔ le xiē chéng yì , xiàn zài yuē hā sī de ér zi yuē ā shī sān cì dǎ bài hā xuē de ér zi biàn hǎ dá , jiù shōu huí le yǐ sè liè de chéng yì 。

Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Joash struck him three times, and recovered the cities of Israel.
