Ecclesiastes 12

你趁着年幼、衰败的日子尚未来到，就是你所说，我毫无喜乐的那些年日未曾临近之先，当记念造你的主。

nǐ chèn zhe nián yòu 、 shuāi bài de rì zi shàng wèi lái dào ， jiù shì nǐ suǒ shuō ， wǒ háo wú xǐ lè de nà xiē nián rì wèi céng lín jìn zhī xiān ， dāng jì niàn zào nǐ de zhǔ 。

Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw near, when you will say, “I have no pleasure in them;”

不要等到日头、光明、月亮、星宿变为黑暗，雨后云彩反回，

bú yào děng dào rì tou 、 guāng míng 、 yuè liàng 、 xīng xiù biàn wèi hēi àn ， yǔ hòu yún cǎi fǎn huí ，

Before the sun, the light, the moon, and the stars are darkened, and the clouds return after the rain;

看守房屋的发颤，有力的屈身，推磨的稀少就止息，从窗户往外看的都昏暗；

kān shǒu fáng wū de fā chàn ， yǒu lì de qū shēn ， tuī mò de xī shǎo jiù zhǐ xī ， cóng chuāng hù wǎng wài kàn de dōu hūn àn ；

in the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those who look out of the windows are darkened,

街门关闭，推磨的响声微小，雀鸟一叫，人就起来，唱歌的女子也都衰微。

jiē mén guān bì ， tuī mò de xiǎng shēng wēi xiǎo ， què niǎo yí jiào ， rén jiù qǐ lái ， chàng gē de nǚ zǐ yě dōu shuāi wēi 。

and the doors shall be shut in the street; when the sound of the grinding is low, and one shall rise up at the voice of a bird, and all the daughters of music shall be brought low;

人怕高处，路上有惊慌，杏树开花，蚱蜢成为重担，人所愿的也都废掉；因为人归他永远的家，吊丧的在街上往来。

rén pà gāo chù ， lù shang yǒu jīng huāng ， xìng shù kāi huā ， zhà měng chéng wéi zhòng dàn ， rén suǒ yuàn de yě dōu fèi diào ； yīn wèi rén guī tā yǒng yuǎn de jiā ， diào sāng de zài jiē shàng wǎng lái 。

yes, they shall be afraid of heights, and terrors will be on the way; and the almond tree shall blossom, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail; because man goes to his everlasting home, and the mourners go about the streets;

银链折断，金罐破裂，瓶子在泉旁损坏，水轮在井口破烂，

yín liàn zhé duàn ， jīn guàn pò liè ， píng zi zài quán páng sǔn huài ， shuǐ lún zài jǐng kǒu pò làn ，

before the silver cord is severed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is broken at the spring, or the wheel broken at the cistern,

尘土仍归于地，灵仍归于赐灵的 神。

chén tǔ réng guī yú dì ， líng réng guī yú cì líng de shén 。

and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

传道者说：「虚空的虚空，凡事都是虚空。」

chuán dào zhě shuō ：「 xū kōng de xū kōng ， fán shì dōu shì xū kōng 。」

“Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher. “All is vanity!”

再者，传道者因有智慧，仍将知识教训众人；又默想，又考查，又陈说许多箴言。

zài zhě ， chuán dào zhě yīn yǒu zhì huì ， réng jiāng zhī shi jiào xùn zhòng rén ； yòu mò xiǎng ， yòu kǎo chá ， yòu chén shuō xǔ duō zhēn yán 。

Further, because the Preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge. Yes, he pondered, sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

传道者专心寻求可喜悦的言语，是凭正直写的诚实话。

chuán dào zhě zhuān xīn xún qiú kě xǐ yuè de yán yǔ ， shì píng zhèng zhí xiě de chéng shí huà 。

The Preacher sought to find out acceptable words, and that which was written blamelessly, words of truth.

智慧人的言语好像刺棍；会中之师的言语又像钉稳的钉子，都是一个牧者所赐的。

zhì huì rén de yán yǔ hǎo xiàng cì gùn ； huì zhōng zhī shī de yán yǔ yòu xiàng dīng wěn de dīng zi ， dōu shì yí gè mù zhě suǒ cì de 。

The words of the wise are like goads; and like nails well fastened are words from the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

我儿，还有一层，你当受劝戒：著书多，没有穷尽；读书多，身体疲倦。

wǒ ér ， hái yǒu yì céng ， nǐ dāng shòu quàn jiè ： zhù shū duō ， méi yǒu qióng jìn ； dú shū duō ， shēn tǐ pí juàn 。

Furthermore, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

这些事都已听见了，总意就是：敬畏 神，谨守他的诫命，这是人所当尽的本分 。

zhè xiē shì dōu yǐ tīng jiàn le ， zǒng yì jiù shì ： jìng wèi shén ， jǐn shǒu tā de jiè mìng ， zhè shì rén suǒ dāng jìn de běn fèn 。

This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.

因为人所做的事，连一切隐藏的事，无论是善是恶， 神都必审问。

yīn wèi rén suǒ zuò de shì ， lián yí qiè yǐn cáng de shì ， wú lùn shì shàn shì è ， shén dōu bì shěn wèn 。

For God will bring every work into judgment, with every hidden thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.
