这事以后，亚哈随鲁王抬举亚甲族哈米大他的儿子哈曼，使他高升，叫他的爵位超过与他同事的一切臣宰。

zhè shì yǐ hòu ， yà hā suí lǔ wáng tái jǔ yà jiǎ zú hā mǐ dà tā de ér zi hā màn ， shǐ tā gāo shēng ， jiào tā de jué wèi chāo guò yǔ tā tóng shì de yí qiè chén zǎi 。

After these things King Ahasuerus promoted Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes who were with him.

在朝门的一切臣仆都跪拜哈曼，因为王如此吩咐；惟独末底改不跪不拜。

zài cháo mén de yí qiè chén pú dōu guì bài hā màn ， yīn wèi wáng rú cǐ fēn fù ； wéi dú mò dǐ gǎi bú guì bú bài 。

All the king’s servants who were in the king’s gate bowed down and paid homage to Haman, for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai didn’t bow down or pay him homage.

在朝门的臣仆问末底改说：「你为何违背王的命令呢？」

zài cháo mén de chén pú wèn mò dǐ gǎi shuō ：「 nǐ wèi hé wéi bèi wáng de mìng lìng ne ？」

Then the king’s servants who were in the king’s gate said to Mordecai, “Why do you disobey the king’s commandment?”

他们天天劝他，他还是不听，他们就告诉哈曼，要看末底改的事站得住站不住，因他已经告诉他们自己是犹大人。

tā men tiān tiān quàn tā ， tā hái shì bù tīng ， tā men jiù gào sù hā màn ， yào kàn mò dǐ gǎi de shì zhàn dé zhù zhàn bú zhù ， yīn tā yǐ jīng gào sù tā men zì jǐ shì yóu dà rén 。

Now it came to pass, when they spoke daily to him, and he didn’t listen to them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai’s reason would stand; for he had told them that he was a Jew.

哈曼见末底改不跪不拜，他就怒气填胸。

hā màn jiàn mò dǐ gǎi bú guì bú bài ， tā jiù nù qì tián xiōng 。

When Haman saw that Mordecai didn’t bow down nor pay him homage, Haman was full of wrath.

他们已将末底改的本族告诉哈曼；他以为下手害末底改一人是小事，就要灭绝亚哈随鲁王通国所有的犹大人，就是末底改的本族。

tā men yǐ jiāng mò dǐ gǎi de běn zú gào sù hā màn ； tā yǐ wéi xià shǒu hài mò dǐ gǎi yì rén shì xiǎo shì ， jiù yào miè jué yà hā suí lǔ wáng tōng guó suǒ yǒu de yóu dà rén ， jiù shì mò dǐ gǎi de běn zú 。

But he scorned the thought of laying hands on Mordecai alone, for they had made known to him Mordecai’s people. Therefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews who were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even Mordecai’s people.

亚哈随鲁王十二年正月，就是尼散月，人在哈曼面前，按日日月月掣普珥，就是掣签，要定何月何日为吉，择定了十二月，就是亚达月。

yà hā suí lǔ wáng shí èr nián zhēng yuè ， jiù shì ní sàn yuè ， rén zài hā màn miàn qián ， àn rì rì yuè yuè chè pǔ ěr ， jiù shì chè qiān ， yào dìng hé yuè hé rì wèi jí ， zé dìng le shí èr yuè ， jiù shì yà dá yuè 。

In the first month, which is the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, and chose the twelfth month, which is the month Adar.

哈曼对亚哈随鲁王说：「有一种民散居在王国各省的民中；他们的律例与万民的律例不同，也不守王的律例，所以容留他们与王无益。

hā màn duì yà hā suí lǔ wáng shuō ：「 yǒu yì zhǒng mín sǎn jū zài wáng guó gè shěng de mín zhōng ； tā men de lǜ lì yǔ wàn mín de lǜ lì bù tóng ， yě bù shǒu wáng de lǜ lì ， suǒ yǐ róng liú tā men yǔ wáng wú yì 。

Haman said to King Ahasuerus, “There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom, and their laws are different from other people’s. They don’t keep the king’s laws. Therefore it is not for the king’s profit to allow them to remain.

王若以为美，请下旨意灭绝他们；我就捐一万他连得银子交给掌管国帑的人，纳入王的府库。」

wáng ruò yǐ wéi měi ， qǐng xià zhǐ yì miè jué tā men ； wǒ jiù juān yí wàn tā lián dé yín zi jiāo gěi zhǎng guǎn guó tǎng de rén ， nà rù wáng de fǔ kù 。」

If it pleases the king, let it be written that they be destroyed; and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver into the hands of those who are in charge of the king’s business, to bring it into the king’s treasuries.”

于是王从自己手上摘下戒指给犹大人的仇敌—亚甲族哈米大他的儿子哈曼。

yú shì wáng cóng zì jǐ shǒu shàng zhāi xià jiè zhǐ gěi yóu dà rén de chóu dí — yà jiǎ zú hā mǐ dà tā de ér zi hā màn 。

The king took his ring from his hand, and gave it to Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews’ enemy.

王对哈曼说：「这银子仍赐给你，这民也交给你，你可以随意待他们。」

wáng duì hā màn shuō ：「 zhè yín zi réng cì gěi nǐ ， zhè mín yě jiāo gěi nǐ ， nǐ kě yǐ suí yì dài tā men 。」

The king said to Haman, “The silver is given to you, the people also, to do with them as it seems good to you.”

正月十三日，就召了王的书记来，照着哈曼一切所吩咐的，用各省的文字、各族的方言，奉亚哈随鲁王的名写旨意，传与总督和各省的省长，并各族的首领；又用王的戒指盖印，

zhēng yuè shí sān rì ， jiù zhào le wáng de shū jì lái ， zhào zhe hā màn yí qiè suǒ fēn fù de ， yòng gè shěng de wén zì 、 gè zú de fāng yán ， fèng yà hā suí lǔ wáng de míng xiě zhǐ yì ， chuán yǔ zǒng dū hé gè shěng de shěng zhǎng ， bìng gè zú de shǒu lǐng ； yòu yòng wáng de jiè zhǐ gài yìn ，

Then the king’s scribes were called in on the first month, on the thirteenth day of the month; and all that Haman commanded was written to the king’s local governors, and to the governors who were over every province, and to the princes of every people, to every province according to its writing, and to every people in their language. It was written in the name of King Ahasuerus, and it was sealed with the king’s ring.

交给驿卒传到王的各省，吩咐将犹大人，无论老少妇女孩子，在一日之间，十二月，就是亚达月十三日，全然剪除，杀戮灭绝，并夺他们的财为掠物。

jiāo gěi yì zú chuán dào wáng de gè shěng ， fēn fù jiāng yóu dà rén ， wú lùn lǎo shào fù nǚ hái zi ， zài yí rì zhī jiān ， shí èr yuè ， jiù shì yà dá yuè shí sān rì ， quán rán jiǎn chú ， shā lù miè jué ， bìng duó tā men de cái wèi lüè wù 。

Letters were sent by couriers into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to plunder their possessions.

抄录这旨意，颁行各省，宣告各族，使他们预备等候那日。

chāo lù zhè zhǐ yì ， bān xíng gè shěng ， xuān gào gè zú ， shǐ tā men yù bèi děng hòu nà rì 。

A copy of the letter, that the decree should be given out in every province, was published to all the peoples, that they should be ready against that day.

驿卒奉王命急忙起行，旨意也传遍书珊城。王同哈曼坐下饮酒，书珊城的民却都慌乱。

yì zú fèng wáng mìng jí máng qǐ xíng ， zhǐ yì yě chuán biàn shū shān chéng 。 wáng tóng hā màn zuò xià yǐn jiǔ ， shū shān chéng de mín què dōu huāng luàn 。

The couriers went out in haste by the king’s commandment, and the decree was given out in the citadel of Susa. The king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city of Susa was perplexed.
