寿

sā lā xiǎng shòu yì bǎi èr shí qī suì , zhè shì sā lā yì shēng de suì shù 。

Sarah lived one hundred twenty-seven years. This was the length of Sarah’s life.

sā lā sǐ zài jiā nán dì de jī liè · yà bā , jiù shì xī bó 。 yà bó lā hǎn wèi tā āi tòng kū hào 。

Sarah died in Kiriath Arba (also called Hebron), in the land of Canaan. Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.

hòu lái yà bó lā hǎn cóng sǐ rén miàn qián qǐ lái , duì hè rén shuō :

Abraham rose up from before his dead and spoke to the children of Heth, saying,

使。」

「 wǒ zài nǐ men zhōng jiān shì wài rén , shì jì jū de 。 qiú nǐ men zài zhè lǐ gěi wǒ yí kuài dì , wǒ hǎo mái zàng wǒ de sǐ rén , shǐ tā bú zài wǒ yǎn qián 。」

“I am a stranger and a foreigner living with you. Give me a possession of a burying-place with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.”

hè rén huí dá yà bó lā hǎn shuō :

The children of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him,

。」

「 wǒ zhǔ qǐng tīng 。 nǐ zài wǒ men zhōng jiān shì yí wèi zūn dà de wáng zǐ , zhǐ guǎn zài wǒ men zuì hǎo de fén dì lǐ mái zàng nǐ de sǐ rén ; wǒ men méi yǒu yì rén bù róng nǐ zài tā de fén dì lǐ mái zàng nǐ de sǐ rén 。」

“Hear us, my lord. You are a prince of God among us. Bury your dead in the best of our tombs. None of us will withhold from you his tomb. Bury your dead.”

yà bó lā hǎn jiù qǐ lái , xiàng nà dì de hè rén xià bài ,

Abraham rose up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, to the children of Heth.

duì tā men shuō :「 nǐ men ruò yǒu yì jiào wǒ mái zàng wǒ de sǐ rén , shǐ tā bú zài wǒ yǎn qián , jiù qǐng tīng wǒ de huà , wèi wǒ qiú suǒ xiá de ér zi yǐ fú ;

He talked with them, saying, “If you agree that I should bury my dead out of my sight, hear me, and entreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar,

。」

bǎ tián tóu shàng nà mài bǐ lā dòng gěi wǒ ; tā kě yǐ àn zhe zú jià mài gěi wǒ , zuò wǒ zài nǐ men zhōng jiān de fén dì 。」

that he may sell me the cave of Machpelah, which he has, which is in the end of his field. For the full price let him sell it to me among you as a possession for a burial place.”

dāng shí yǐ fú zhèng zuò zài hè rén zhōng jiān 。 yú shì , hè rén yǐ fú zài chéng mén chū rù de hè rén miàn qián duì yà bó lā hǎn shuō :

Now Ephron was sitting in the middle of the children of Heth. Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the hearing of the children of Heth, even of all who went in at the gate of his city, saying,

。」

「 bù rán , wǒ zhǔ qǐng tīng 。 wǒ sòng gěi nǐ zhè kuài tián , lián tián jiān de dòng yě sòng gěi nǐ , zài wǒ tóng zú de rén miàn qián dōu gěi nǐ , kě yǐ mái zàng nǐ de sǐ rén 。」

“No, my lord, hear me. I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. In the presence of the children of my people I give it to you. Bury your dead.”

yà bó lā hǎn jiù zài nà dì de rén mín miàn qián xià bài ,

Abraham bowed himself down before the people of the land.

:「。」

zài tā men miàn qián duì yǐ fú shuō :「 nǐ ruò yīng yǔn , qǐng tīng wǒ de huà 。 wǒ yào bǎ tián jià gěi nǐ , qiú nǐ shōu xià , wǒ jiù zài nà lǐ mái zàng wǒ de sǐ rén 。」

He spoke to Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, “But if you will, please hear me. I will give the price of the field. Take it from me, and I will bury my dead there.”

yǐ fú huí dá yà bó lā hǎn shuō :

Ephron answered Abraham, saying to him,

!」

「 wǒ zhǔ qǐng tīng 。 zhí sì bǎi shè kè lè yín zi de yí kuài tián , zài nǐ wǒ zhōng jiān hái suàn shén me ne ? zhǐ guǎn mái zàng nǐ de sǐ rén ba !」

“My lord, listen to me. What is a piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver between me and you? Therefore bury your dead.”

yà bó lā hǎn tīng cóng le yǐ fú , zhào zhe tā zài hè rén miàn qián suǒ shuō de huà , bǎ mǎi mài tōng yòng de yín zi píng le sì bǎi shè kè lè gěi yǐ fú 。

Abraham listened to Ephron. Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver which he had named in the hearing of the children of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, according to the current merchants’ standard.

yú shì , mài bǐ lā 、 màn lì qián 、 yǐ fú de nà kuài tián hé qí zhōng de dòng , bìng tián jiān sì wéi de shù mù ,

So the field of Ephron, which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, the cave which was in it, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all of its borders, were deeded

dōu dìng zhǔn guī yǔ yà bó lā hǎn , nǎi shì tā zài hè rén miàn qián bìng chéng mén chū rù de rén miàn qián mǎi tuǒ de 。

to Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all who went in at the gate of his city.

cǐ hòu , yà bó lā hǎn bǎ tā qī zǐ sā lā mái zàng zài jiā nán dì màn lì qián de mài bǐ lā tián jiān de dòng lǐ 。( màn lì jiù shì xī bó )。

After this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre (that is, Hebron), in the land of Canaan.

cóng cǐ , nà kuài tián hé tián jiān de dòng jiù jiè zhe hè rén dìng zhǔn guī yǔ yà bó lā hǎn zuò fén dì 。

The field, and the cave that is in it, were deeded to Abraham by the children of Heth as a possession for a burial place.
