yē sū guò qù de shí hòu , kàn jiàn yí gè rén shēng lái shì xiā yǎn de 。

As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth.

:「?」

mén tú wèn yē sū shuō :「 lā bǐ , zhè rén shēng lái shì xiā yǎn de , shì shuí fàn le zuì ? shì zhè rén ne ? shì tā fù mǔ ne ?」

His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

:「

yē sū huí dá shuō :「 yě bú shì zhè rén fàn le zuì , yě bú shì tā fù mǔ fàn le zuì , shì yào zài tā shēn shàng xiǎn chū shén de zuò wéi lái 。

Jesus answered, “This man didn’t sin, nor did his parents, but that the works of God might be revealed in him.

chèn zhe bái rì , wǒ men bì xū zuò nà chà wǒ lái zhě de gōng ; hēi yè jiāng dào , jiù méi yǒu rén néng zuò gōng le 。

I must work the works of him who sent me while it is day. The night is coming, when no one can work.

。」

wǒ zài shì shàng de shí hòu , shì shì shàng de guāng 。」

While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

yē sū shuō le zhè huà , jiù tǔ tuò mò zài dì shàng , yòng tuò mò hé ní mǒ zài xiā zǐ de yǎn jīng shàng ,

When he had said this, he spat on the ground, made mud with the saliva, anointed the blind man’s eyes with the mud,

:「西。」(西」。)

duì tā shuō :「 nǐ wǎng xī luó yà chí zǐ lǐ qù xǐ 。」( xī luó yà fān chū lái jiù shì 「 fèng chāi qiǎn 」。) tā qù yì xǐ , huí tóu jiù kàn jiàn le 。

and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means “Sent”). So he went away, washed, and came back seeing.

:「?」

tā de lín shè hé nà sù cháng jiàn tā shì tǎo fàn de , jiù shuō :「 zhè bú shì nà cóng qián zuò zhe tǎo fàn de rén ma ?」

Therefore the neighbors and those who saw that he was blind before said, “Isn’t this he who sat and begged?”

:「」;:「。」:「。」

yǒu rén shuō :「 shì tā 」; yòu yǒu rén shuō :「 bú shì , què shì xiàng tā 。」 tā zì jǐ shuō :「 shì wǒ 。」

Others were saying, “It is he.” Still others were saying, “He looks like him.” He said, “I am he.”

:「?」

tā men duì tā shuō :「 nǐ de yǎn jīng shì zěn me kāi de ne ?」

They therefore were asking him, “How were your eyes opened?”

:「:『西。』。」

tā huí dá shuō :「 yǒu yí gè rén , míng jiào yē sū , tā hé ní mǒ wǒ de yǎn jīng , duì wǒ shuō :『 nǐ wǎng xī luó yà chí zǐ qù xǐ 。』 wǒ qù yì xǐ , jiù kàn jiàn le 。」

He answered, “A man called Jesus made mud, anointed my eyes, and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went away and washed, and I received sight.”

:「?」:「。」

tā men shuō :「 nà ge rén zài nǎ lǐ ?」 tā shuō :「 wǒ bù zhī dào 。」

Then they asked him, “Where is he?” He said, “I don’t know.”

tā men bǎ cóng qián xiā yǎn de rén dài dào fǎ lì sài rén nà lǐ 。

They brought him who had been blind to the Pharisees.

yē sū hé ní kāi tā yǎn jīng de rì zi shì ān xī rì 。

It was a Sabbath when Jesus made the mud and opened his eyes.

:「。」

fǎ lì sài rén yě wèn tā shì zěn me dé kàn jiàn de 。 xiā zǐ duì tā men shuō :「 tā bǎ ní mǒ zài wǒ de yǎn jīng shàng , wǒ qù yì xǐ , jiù kàn jiàn le 。」

Again therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he received his sight. He said to them, “He put mud on my eyes, I washed, and I see.”

:「 。」:「?」

fǎ lì sài rén zhōng yǒu de shuō :「 zhè ge rén bú shì cóng shén lái de , yīn wèi tā bù shǒu ān xī rì 。」 yòu yǒu rén shuō :「 yí gè zuì rén zěn néng xíng zhè yàng de shén jì ne ?」 tā men jiù qǐ le fēn zhēng 。

Some therefore of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, because he doesn’t keep the Sabbath.” Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” So there was division among them.

:「?」:「。」

tā men yòu duì xiā zǐ shuō :「 tā jì rán kāi le nǐ de yǎn jīng , nǐ shuō tā shì zěn yàng de rén ne ?」 tā shuō :「 shì gè xiān zhī 。」

Therefore they asked the blind man again, “What do you say about him, because he opened your eyes?” He said, “He is a prophet.”

yóu tài rén bú xìn tā cóng qián shì xiā yǎn , hòu lái néng kàn jiàn de , děng dào jiào le tā de fù mǔ lái ,

The Jews therefore didn’t believe concerning him, that he had been blind and had received his sight, until they called the parents of him who had received his sight,

:「?」

wèn tā men shuō :「 zhè shì nǐ men de ér zǐ ma ? nǐ men shuō tā shēng lái shì xiā yǎn de , rú jīn zěn me néng kàn jiàn le ne ?」

and asked them, “Is this your son, whom you say was born blind? How then does he now see?”

:「

tā fù mǔ huí dá shuō :「 tā shì wǒ men de ér zi , shēng lái jiù xiā yǎn , zhè shì wǒ men zhī dào de 。

His parents answered them, “We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind;

。」

zhì yú tā rú jīn zěn me néng kàn jiàn , wǒ men què bù zhī dào ; shì shuí kāi le tā de yǎn jīng , wǒ men yě bù zhī dào 。 tā yǐ jīng chéng le rén , nǐ men wèn tā ba , tā zì jǐ bì néng shuō 。」

but how he now sees, we don’t know; or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. He is of age. Ask him. He will speak for himself.”

tā fù mǔ shuō zhè huà , shì pà yóu tài rén ; yīn wèi yóu tài rén yǐ jīng shāng yì dìng le , ruò yǒu rèn yē sū shì jī dū de , yào bǎ tā gǎn chū huì táng 。

His parents said these things because they feared the Jews; for the Jews had already agreed that if any man would confess him as Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue.

:「。」

yīn cǐ tā fù mǔ shuō :「 tā yǐ jīng chéng le rén , nǐ men wèn tā ba 。」

Therefore his parents said, “He is of age. Ask him.”

:「耀 。」

suǒ yǐ fǎ lì sài rén dì èr cì jiào le nà cóng qián xiā yǎn de rén lái , duì tā shuō :「 nǐ gāi jiāng róng yào guī gěi shén , wǒ men zhī dào zhè rén shì gè zuì rén 。」

So they called the man who was blind a second time, and said to him, “Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.”

:「。」

tā shuō :「 tā shì gè zuì rén bú shì , wǒ bù zhī dào ; yǒu yí jiàn shì wǒ zhī dào , cóng qián wǒ shì yǎn xiā de , rú jīn néng kàn jiàn le 。」

He therefore answered, “I don’t know if he is a sinner. One thing I do know: that though I was blind, now I see.”

:「?」

tā men jiù wèn tā shuō :「 tā xiàng nǐ zuò shén me ? shì zěn me kāi le nǐ de yǎn jīng ne ?」

They said to him again, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?”

:「?」

tā huí dá shuō :「 wǒ fāng cái gào sù nǐ men , nǐ men bù tīng , wèi shén me yòu yào tīng ne ? mò fēi nǐ men yě yào zuò tā de mén tú ma ?」

He answered them, “I told you already, and you didn’t listen. Why do you want to hear it again? You don’t also want to become his disciples, do you?”

:「西

tā men jiù mà tā shuō :「 nǐ shì tā de mén tú ; wǒ men shì mó xī de mén tú 。

They insulted him and said, “You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.

西!」

shén duì mó xī shuō huà shì wǒ men zhī dào de ; zhǐ shì zhè ge rén , wǒ men bù zhī dào tā cóng nǎ lǐ lái !」

We know that God has spoken to Moses. But as for this man, we don’t know where he comes from.”

:「

nà rén huí dá shuō :「 tā kāi le wǒ de yǎn jīng , nǐ men jìng bù zhī dào tā cóng nǎ lǐ lái , zhè zhēn shì qí guài !

The man answered them, “How amazing! You don’t know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes.

wǒ men zhī dào shén bù tīng zuì rén , wéi yǒu jìng fèng shén 、 zūn xíng tā zhǐ yì de , shén cái tīng tā 。

We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, he listens to him.

cóng chuàng shì yǐ lái , wèi céng tīng jiàn yǒu rén bǎ shēng lái shì xiā zǐ de yǎn jīng kāi le 。

Since the world began it has never been heard of that anyone opened the eyes of someone born blind.

。」

zhè rén ruò bú shì cóng shén lái de , shén me yě bù néng zuò 。」

If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.”

:「?」

tā men huí dá shuō :「 nǐ quán rán shēng zài zuì niè zhōng , hái yào jiào xùn wǒ men ma ?」 yú shì bǎ tā gǎn chū qù le 。

They answered him, “You were altogether born in sins, and do you teach us?” Then they threw him out.

:「 ?」

yē sū tīng shuō tā men bǎ tā gǎn chū qù , hòu lái yù jiàn tā , jiù shuō :「 nǐ xìn shén de ér zi ma ?」

Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and finding him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of God?”

:「 ?」

tā huí dá shuō :「 zhǔ a , shuí shì shén de ér zi , jiào wǒ xìn tā ne ?」

He answered, “Who is he, Lord, that I may believe in him?”

:「。」

yē sū shuō :「 nǐ yǐ jīng kàn jiàn tā , xiàn zài hé nǐ shuō huà de jiù shì tā 。」

Jesus said to him, “You have both seen him, and it is he who speaks with you.”

:「!」

tā shuō :「 zhǔ a , wǒ xìn !」 jiù bài yē sū 。

He said, “Lord, I believe!” and he worshiped him.

:「。」

yē sū shuō :「 wǒ wèi shěn pàn dào zhè shì shàng lái , jiào bù néng kàn jiàn de , kě yǐ kàn jiàn ; néng kàn jiàn de , fǎn xiā le yǎn 。」

Jesus said, “I came into this world for judgment, that those who don’t see may see; and that those who see may become blind.”

:「?」

tóng tā zài nà lǐ de fǎ lì sài rén tīng jiàn zhè huà , jiù shuō :「 nán dào wǒ men yě xiā le yǎn ma ?」

Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said to him, “Are we also blind?”

:「』,。」

yē sū duì tā men shuō :「 nǐ men ruò xiā le yǎn , jiù méi yǒu zuì le ; dàn rú jīn nǐ men shuō 『 wǒ men néng kàn jiàn 』, suǒ yǐ nǐ men de zuì hái zài 。」

Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.
