Joshua 9:24

他们回答约书亚说：「因为有人实在告诉你的仆人，耶和华—你的 神曾吩咐他的仆人摩西，把这全地赐给你们，并在你们面前灭绝这地的一切居民，所以我们为你们的缘故甚怕丧命，就行了这事。

tā men huí dá yuē shū yà shuō ：「 yīn wèi yǒu rén shí zài gào sù nǐ de pú rén ， yē hé huá — nǐ de shén céng fēn fu tā de pú rén mó xī ， bǎ zhè quán dì cì gěi nǐ men ， bìng zài nǐ men miàn qián miè jué zhè dì de yí qiè jū mín ， suǒ yǐ wǒ men wèi nǐ men de yuán gù shèn pà sàng mìng ， jiù xíng le zhè shì 。

They answered Joshua, and said, “Because your servants were certainly told how the LORD your God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you. Therefore we were very afraid for our lives because of you, and have done this thing.
