巡抚有一个常例，每逢这节期，随众人所要的释放一个囚犯给他们。

xún fǔ yǒu yí ge cháng lì ， měi féng zhè jié qī ， suí zhòng rén suǒ yào de shì fàng yí ge qiú fàn gěi tā men 。

Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release to the multitude one prisoner whom they desired.
