Numbers 14

当下，全会众大声喧嚷；那夜百姓都哭号。

dāng xià ， quán huì zhòng dà shēng xuān rǎng ； nà yè bǎi xìng dōu kū hào 。

All the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.

以色列众人向摩西、亚伦发怨言；全会众对他们说：「巴不得我们早死在埃及地，或是死在这旷野。

yǐ sè liè zhòng rén xiàng mó xī 、 yà lún fā yuàn yán ； quán huì zhòng duì tā men shuō ：「 bā bù dé wǒ men zǎo sǐ zài āi jí dì ， huò shì sǐ zài zhè kuàng yě 。

All the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron. The whole congregation said to them, “We wish that we had died in the land of Egypt, or that we had died in this wilderness!

耶和华为什么把我们领到那地，使我们倒在刀下呢？我们的妻子和孩子必被掳掠。我们回埃及去岂不好吗？」

yē hé huá wèi shén me bǎ wǒ men lǐng dào nà dì ， shǐ wǒ men dǎo zài dāo xià ne ？ wǒ men de qī zǐ hé hái zi bì bèi lǔ lüè 。 wǒ men huí āi jí qù qǐ bù hǎo ma ？」

Why does the LORD bring us to this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be captured or killed! Wouldn’t it be better for us to return into Egypt?”

众人彼此说：「我们不如立一个首领回埃及去吧！」

zhòng rén bǐ cǐ shuō ：「 wǒ men bù rú lì yí gè shǒu lǐng huí āi jí qù ba ！」

They said to one another, “Let’s choose a leader, and let’s return into Egypt.”

摩西、亚伦就俯伏在以色列全会众面前。

mó xī 、 yà lún jiù fǔ fú zài yǐ sè liè quán huì zhòng miàn qián 。

Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

窥探地的人中，嫩的儿子约书亚和耶孚尼的儿子迦勒撕裂衣服，

kuī tàn dì de rén zhōng ， nèn de ér zi yuē shū yà hé yē fú ní de ér zi jiā lè sī liè yī fu ，

Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were of those who spied out the land, tore their clothes.

对以色列全会众说：「我们所窥探、经过之地是极美之地。

duì yǐ sè liè quán huì zhòng shuō ：「 wǒ men suǒ kuī tàn 、 jīng guò zhī dì shì jí měi zhī dì 。

They spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, “The land, which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceedingly good land.

耶和华若喜悦我们，就必将我们领进那地，把地赐给我们；那地原是流奶与蜜之地。

yē hé huá ruò xǐ yuè wǒ men ， jiù bì jiāng wǒ men lǐng jìn nà dì ， bǎ dì cì gěi wǒ men ； nà dì yuán shì liú nǎi yǔ mì zhī dì 。

If the LORD delights in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it to us: a land which flows with milk and honey.

但你们不可背叛耶和华，也不要怕那地的居民；因为他们是我们的食物，并且荫庇他们的已经离开他们。有耶和华与我们同在，不要怕他们！」

dàn nǐ men bù kě bèi pàn yē hé huá ， yě bú yào pà nà dì de jū mín ； yīn wèi tā men shì wǒ men de shí wù ， bìng qiě yìn bì tā men de yǐ jīng lí kāi tā men 。 yǒu yē hé huá yǔ wǒ men tóng zài ， bú yào pà tā men ！」

Only don’t rebel against the LORD, neither fear the people of the land; for they are bread for us. Their defense is removed from over them, and the LORD is with us. Don’t fear them.”

但全会众说：「拿石头打死他们二人。」忽然，耶和华的荣光在会幕中向以色列众人显现。

dàn quán huì zhòng shuō ：「 ná shí tou dǎ sǐ tā men èr rén 。」 hū rán ， yē hé huá de róng guāng zài huì mù zhōng xiàng yǐ sè liè zhòng rén xiǎn xiàn 。

But all the congregation threatened to stone them with stones. The LORD’s glory appeared in the Tent of Meeting to all the children of Israel.

耶和华对摩西说：「这百姓藐视我要到几时呢？我在他们中间行了这一切神迹，他们还不信我要到几时呢？

yē hé huá duì mó xī shuō ：「 zhè bǎi xìng miǎo shì wǒ yào dào jǐ shí ne ？ wǒ zài tā men zhōng jiān xíng le zhè yí qiè shén jì ， tā men hái bú xìn wǒ yào dào jǐ shí ne ？

The LORD said to Moses, “How long will this people despise me? How long will they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have worked among them?

我要用瘟疫击杀他们，使他们不得承受那地，叫你的后裔成为大国，比他们强胜。」

wǒ yào yòng wēn yì jī shā tā men ， shǐ tā men bù dé chéng shòu nà dì ， jiào nǐ de hòu yì chéng wéi dà guó ， bǐ tā men qiáng shèng 。」

I will strike them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.”

摩西对耶和华说：「埃及人必听见这事；因为你曾施展大能，将这百姓从他们中间领上来。

mó xī duì yē hé huá shuō ：「 āi jí rén bì tīng jiàn zhè shì ； yīn wèi nǐ céng shī zhǎn dà néng ， jiāng zhè bǎi xìng cóng tā men zhōng jiān lǐng shàng lái 。

Moses said to the LORD, “Then the Egyptians will hear it; for you brought up this people in your might from among them.

埃及人要将这事传给迦南地的居民；那民已经听见你—耶和华是在这百姓中间；因为你面对面被人看见，有你的云彩停在他们以上。你日间在云柱中，夜间在火柱中，在他们前面行。

āi jí rén yào jiāng zhè shì chuán gěi jiā nán dì de jū mín ； nà mín yǐ jīng tīng jiàn nǐ — yē hé huá shì zài zhè bǎi xìng zhōng jiān ； yīn wèi nǐ miàn duì miàn bèi rén kàn jiàn ， yǒu nǐ de yún cǎi tíng zài tā men yǐ shàng 。 nǐ rì jiān zài yún zhù zhōng ， yè jiān zài huǒ zhù zhōng ， zài tā men qián miàn xíng 。

They will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that you LORD are among this people; for you LORD are seen face to face, and your cloud stands over them, and you go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night.

如今你若把这百姓杀了，如杀一人，那些听见你名声的列邦必议论说：

rú jīn nǐ ruò bǎ zhè bǎi xìng shā le ， rú shā yì rén ， nà xiē tīng jiàn nǐ míng shēng de liè bāng bì yì lùn shuō ：

Now if you killed this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of you will speak, saying,

『耶和华因为不能把这百姓领进他向他们起誓应许之地，所以在旷野把他们杀了。』

『 yē hé huá yīn wèi bù néng bǎ zhè bǎi xìng lǐng jìn tā xiàng tā men qǐ shì yīng xǔ zhī dì ， suǒ yǐ zài kuàng yě bǎ tā men shā le 。』

‘Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness.’

现在求主大显能力，照你所说过的话说：

xiàn zài qiú zhǔ dà xiǎn néng lì ， zhào nǐ suǒ shuō guò de huà shuō ：

Now please let the power of the Lord be great, according as you have spoken, saying,

『耶和华不轻易发怒，并有丰盛的慈爱，赦免罪孽和过犯；万不以有罪的为无罪，必追讨他的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代。』

『 yē hé huá bù qīng yì fā nù ， bìng yǒu fēng shèng de cí ài ， shè miǎn zuì niè hé guò fàn ； wàn bù yǐ yǒu zuì de wèi wú zuì ， bì zhuī tǎo tā de zuì ， zì fù jí zǐ ， zhí dào sān 、 sì dài 。』

‘The LORD is slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, forgiving iniquity and disobedience; and he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation.’

求你照你的大慈爱赦免这百姓的罪孽，好像你从埃及到如今常赦免他们一样。」

qiú nǐ zhào nǐ de dà cí ài shè miǎn zhè bǎi xìng de zuì niè ， hǎo xiàng nǐ cóng āi jí dào rú jīn cháng shè miǎn tā men yí yàng 。」

Please pardon the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of your loving kindness, and just as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.”

耶和华说：「我照着你的话赦免了他们。

yē hé huá shuō ：「 wǒ zhào zhe nǐ de huà shè miǎn le tā men 。

The LORD said, “I have pardoned according to your word;

然我指着我的永生起誓，遍地要被我的荣耀充满。

rán wǒ zhǐ zhe wǒ de yǒng shēng qǐ shì ， biàn dì yào bèi wǒ de róng yào chōng mǎn 。

but in very deed—as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the LORD’s glory—

这些人虽看见我的荣耀和我在埃及与旷野所行的神迹，仍然试探我这十次，不听从我的话，

zhè xiē rén suī kàn jiàn wǒ de róng yào hé wǒ zài āi jí yǔ kuàng yě suǒ xíng de shén jì ， réng rán shì tàn wǒ zhè shí cì ， bù tīng cóng wǒ de huà ，

because all those men who have seen my glory and my signs, which I worked in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tempted me these ten times, and have not listened to my voice;

他们断不得看见我向他们的祖宗所起誓应许之地。凡藐视我的，一个也不得看见；

tā men duàn bù dé kàn jiàn wǒ xiàng tā men de zǔ zōng suǒ qǐ shì yīng xǔ zhī dì 。 fán miǎo shì wǒ de ， yí gè yě bù dé kàn jiàn ；

surely they shall not see the land which I swore to their fathers, neither shall any of those who despised me see it.

惟独我的仆人迦勒，因他另有一个心志，专一跟从我，我就把他领进他所去过的那地；他的后裔也必得那地为业。

wéi dú wǒ de pú rén jiā lè ， yīn tā lìng yǒu yí gè xīn zhì ， zhuān yī gēn cóng wǒ ， wǒ jiù bǎ tā lǐng jìn tā suǒ qù guò de nà dì ； tā de hòu yì yě bì dé nà dì wèi yè 。

But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and has followed me fully, him I will bring into the land into which he went. His offspring shall possess it.

亚玛力人和迦南人住在谷中，明天你们要转回，从红海的路往旷野去。」

yà mǎ lì rén hé jiā nán rén zhù zài gǔ zhōng ， míng tiān nǐ men yào zhuǎn huí ， cóng hóng hǎi de lù wǎng kuàng yě qù 。」

Since the Amalekite and the Canaanite dwell in the valley, tomorrow turn and go into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea.”

耶和华对摩西、亚伦说：

yē hé huá duì mó xī 、 yà lún shuō ：

The LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

「这恶会众向我发怨言，我忍耐他们要到几时呢？以色列人向我所发的怨言，我都听见了。

「 zhè è huì zhòng xiàng wǒ fā yuàn yán ， wǒ rěn nài tā men yào dào jǐ shí ne ？ yǐ sè liè rén xiàng wǒ suǒ fā de yuàn yán ， wǒ dōu tīng jiàn le 。

“How long shall I bear with this evil congregation that complain against me? I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel, which they complain against me.

你们告诉他们，耶和华说：『我指着我的永生起誓，我必要照你们达到我耳中的话待你们。

nǐ men gào sù tā men ， yē hé huá shuō ：『 wǒ zhǐ zhe wǒ de yǒng shēng qǐ shì ， wǒ bì yào zhào nǐ men dá dào wǒ ěr zhōng de huà dài nǐ men 。

Tell them, ‘As I live, says the LORD, surely as you have spoken in my ears, so I will do to you.

你们的尸首必倒在这旷野，并且你们中间凡被数点、从二十岁以外、向我发怨言的，

nǐ men de shī shǒu bì dǎo zài zhè kuàng yě ， bìng qiě nǐ men zhōng jiān fán bèi shù diǎn 、 cóng èr shí suì yǐ wài 、 xiàng wǒ fā yuàn yán de ，

Your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness; and all who were counted of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, who have complained against me,

必不得进我起誓应许叫你们住的那地；惟有耶孚尼的儿子迦勒和嫩的儿子约书亚才能进去。

bì bù dé jìn wǒ qǐ shì yīng xǔ jiào nǐ men zhù de nà dì ； wéi yǒu yē fú ní de ér zi jiā lè hé nèn de ér zi yuē shū yà cái néng jìn qù 。

surely you shall not come into the land concerning which I swore that I would make you dwell therein, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

但你们的妇人孩子，就是你们所说、要被掳掠的，我必把他们领进去，他们就得知你们所厌弃的那地。

dàn nǐ men de fù rén hái zi ， jiù shì nǐ men suǒ shuō 、 yào bèi lǔ lüè de ， wǒ bì bǎ tā men lǐng jìn qù ， tā men jiù dé zhī nǐ men suǒ yàn qì de nà dì 。

But I will bring in your little ones that you said should be captured or killed, and they shall know the land which you have rejected.

至于你们，你们的尸首必倒在这旷野；

zhì yú nǐ men ， nǐ men de shī shǒu bì dǎo zài zhè kuàng yě ；

But as for you, your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness.

你们的儿女必在旷野飘流四十年，担当你们淫行的罪，直到你们的尸首在旷野消灭。

nǐ men de ér nǚ bì zài kuàng yě piāo liú sì shí nián ， dān dāng nǐ men yín xíng de zuì ， zhí dào nǐ men de shī shǒu zài kuàng yě xiāo miè 。

Your children shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your prostitution, until your dead bodies are consumed in the wilderness.

按你们窥探那地的四十日，一年顶一日，你们要担当罪孽四十年，就知道我与你们疏远了，

àn nǐ men kuī tàn nà dì de sì shí rì ， yì nián dǐng yí rì ， nǐ men yào dān dāng zuì niè sì shí nián ， jiù zhī dào wǒ yǔ nǐ men shū yuǎn le ，

After the number of the days in which you spied out the land, even forty days, for every day a year, you will bear your iniquities, even forty years, and you will know my alienation.’

我—耶和华说过，我总要这样待这一切聚集敌我的恶会众；他们必在这旷野消灭，在这里死亡。』」

wǒ — yē hé huá shuō guò ， wǒ zǒng yào zhè yàng dài zhè yí qiè jù jí dí wǒ de è huì zhòng ； tā men bì zài zhè kuàng yě xiāo miè ， zài zhè lǐ sǐ wáng 。』」

I, the LORD, have spoken. I will surely do this to all this evil congregation who are gathered together against me. In this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.”

摩西所打发、窥探那地的人回来，报那地的恶信，叫全会众向摩西发怨言，

mó xī suǒ dǎ fā 、 kuī tàn nà dì de rén huí lái ， bào nà dì de è xìn ， jiào quán huì zhòng xiàng mó xī fā yuàn yán ，

The men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the congregation to murmur against him by bringing up an evil report against the land,

这些报恶信的人都遭瘟疫，死在耶和华面前。

zhè xiē bào è xìn de rén dōu zāo wēn yì ， sǐ zài yē hé huá miàn qián 。

even those men who brought up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before the LORD.

其中惟有嫩的儿子约书亚和耶孚尼的儿子迦勒仍然存活。

qí zhōng wéi yǒu nèn de ér zi yuē shū yà hé yē fú ní de ér zi jiā lè réng rán cún huó 。

But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh remained alive of those men who went to spy out the land.

摩西将这些话告诉以色列众人，他们就甚悲哀。

mó xī jiāng zhè xiē huà gào sù yǐ sè liè zhòng rén ， tā men jiù shèn bēi āi 。

Moses told these words to all the children of Israel, and the people mourned greatly.

清早起来，上山顶去，说：「我们在这里，我们有罪了；情愿上耶和华所应许的地方去。」

qīng zǎo qǐ lái ， shàng shān dǐng qù ， shuō ：「 wǒ men zài zhè lǐ ， wǒ men yǒu zuì le ； qíng yuàn shàng yē hé huá suǒ yīng xǔ de dì fāng qù 。」

They rose up early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, “Behold, we are here, and will go up to the place which the LORD has promised; for we have sinned.”

摩西说：「你们为何违背耶和华的命令呢？这事不能顺利了。

mó xī shuō ：「 nǐ men wèi hé wéi bèi yē hé huá de mìng lìng ne ？ zhè shì bù néng shùn lì le 。

Moses said, “Why now do you disobey the commandment of the LORD, since it shall not prosper?

不要上去；因为耶和华不在你们中间，恐怕你们被仇敌杀败了。

bú yào shàng qù ； yīn wèi yē hé huá bú zài nǐ men zhōng jiān ， kǒng pà nǐ men bèi chóu dí shā bài le 。

Don’t go up, for the LORD isn’t among you; that way you won’t be struck down before your enemies.

亚玛力人和迦南人都在你们面前，你们必倒在刀下；因你们退回不跟从耶和华，所以他必不与你们同在。」

yà mǎ lì rén hé jiā nán rén dōu zài nǐ men miàn qián ， nǐ men bì dǎo zài dāo xià ； yīn nǐ men tuì huí bù gēn cóng yē hé huá ， suǒ yǐ tā bì bù yǔ nǐ men tóng zài 。」

For there the Amalekite and the Canaanite are before you, and you will fall by the sword because you turned back from following the LORD; therefore the LORD will not be with you.”

他们却擅敢上山顶去，然而耶和华的约柜和摩西没有出营。

tā men què shàn gǎn shàng shān dǐng qù ， rán ér yē hé huá de yuē guì hé mó xī méi yǒu chū yíng 。

But they presumed to go up to the top of the mountain. Nevertheless, the ark of the LORD’s covenant and Moses didn’t depart out of the camp.

于是亚玛力人和住在那山上的迦南人都下来击打他们，把他们杀退了，直到何珥玛。

yú shì yà mǎ lì rén hé zhù zài nà shān shàng de jiā nán rén dōu xià lái jī dǎ tā men ， bǎ tā men shā tuì le ， zhí dào hé ěr mǎ 。

Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites who lived in that mountain, and struck them and beat them down even to Hormah.
