Bible Verses About Forgiveness

Forgiveness sits at the heart of the gospel: we are forgiven freely, and asked to forgive freely in turn. These verses speak both to the relief of being pardoned and the hard work of pardoning.

1. Ephesians 4:32

   And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.

   并要以恩慈相待，存怜悯的心，彼此饶恕，正如 神在基督里饶恕了你们一样。

   bìng yào yǐ ēn cí xiāng dài ， cún lián mǐn de xīn ， bǐ cǐ ráo shù ， zhèng rú shén zài jī dū lǐ ráo shù le nǐ men yí yàng 。

2. Colossians 3:13

   bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.

   倘若这人与那人有嫌隙，总要彼此包容，彼此饶恕；主怎样饶恕了你们，你们也要怎样饶恕人。

   tǎng ruò zhè rén yǔ nà rén yǒu xián xì ， zǒng yào bǐ cǐ bāo róng ， bǐ cǐ ráo shù ； zhǔ zěn yàng ráo shù le nǐ men ， nǐ men yě yào zěn yàng ráo shù rén 。

3. 1 John 1:9

   If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

   我们若认自己的罪， 神是信实的，是公义的，必要赦免我们的罪，洗净我们一切的不义。

   wǒ men ruò rèn zì jǐ de zuì ， shén shì xìn shí de ， shì gōng yì de ， bì yào shè miǎn wǒ men de zuì ， xǐ jìng wǒ men yí qiè de bú yì 。

4. Matthew 6:14

   “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

5. Mark 11:25

   Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions.

   你们站着祷告的时候，若想起有人得罪你们，就当饶恕他，好叫你们在天上的父也饶恕你们的过犯。

6. Psalms 103:12

   As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

   东离西有多远， 他叫我们的过犯离我们也有多远！

   dōng lí xī yǒu duō yuǎn ， tā jiào wǒ men de guò fàn lí wǒ men yě yǒu duō yuǎn ！

7. Luke 6:37

   Don’t judge, and you won’t be judged. Don’t condemn, and you won’t be condemned. Set free, and you will be set free.

8. Matthew 18:21

   Then Peter came and said to him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times?”
