1太初有道，道与 神同在，道就是 神。
tài chū yǒu dào ， dào yǔ shén tóng zài ， dào jiù shì shén 。
Au commencement était la Parole, et la Parole était avec Dieu, et la Parole était Dieu.
2这道太初与 神同在。
zhè dào tài chū yǔ shén tóng zài 。
Elle était au commencement avec Dieu.
3万物是借着他造的；凡被造的，没有一样不是借着他造的。
wàn wù shì jiè zhe tā zào de ； fán bèi zào de ， méi yǒu yí yàng bú shì jiè zhe tā zào de 。
Toutes choses ont été faites par elle, et rien de ce qui a été fait n’a été fait sans elle.
4生命在他里头，这生命就是人的光。
shēng mìng zài tā lǐ tou ， zhè shēng mìng jiù shì rén de guāng 。
En elle était la vie, et la vie était la lumière des hommes.
5光照在黑暗里，黑暗却不接受光。
guāng zhào zài hēi àn lǐ ， hēi àn què bù jiē shòu guāng 。
La lumière luit dans les ténèbres, et les ténèbres ne l’ont point reçue.
