以斯帖记 9

十二月，乃亚达月十三日，王的谕旨将要举行，就是犹大人的仇敌盼望辖制他们的日子，犹大人反倒辖制恨他们的人。

shí èr yuè ， nǎi yà dá yuè shí sān rì ， wáng de yù zhǐ jiāng yào jǔ xíng ， jiù shì yóu dà rén de chóu dí pàn wàng xiá zhì tā men de rì zi ， yóu dà rén fǎn dǎo xiá zhì hèn tā men de rén 。

Now in the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the month, when the king’s commandment and his decree came near to be put in execution, on the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to conquer them, (but it turned out that the opposite happened, that the Jews conquered those who hated them),

犹大人在亚哈随鲁王各省的城里聚集，下手击杀那要害他们的人。无人能敌挡他们，因为各族都惧怕他们。

yóu dà rén zài yà hā suí lǔ wáng gè shěng de chéng lǐ jù jí ， xià shǒu jī shā nà yào hài tā men de rén 。 wú rén néng dí dǎng tā men ， yīn wèi gè zú dōu jù pà tā men 。

the Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the King Ahasuerus, to lay hands on those who wanted to harm them. No one could withstand them, because the fear of them had fallen on all the people.

各省的首领、总督、省长，和办理王事的人，因惧怕末底改，就都帮助犹大人。

gè shěng de shǒu lǐng 、 zǒng dū 、 shěng cháng ， hé bàn lǐ wáng shì de rén ， yīn jù pà mò dǐ gǎi ， jiù dōu bāng zhù yóu dà rén 。

All the princes of the provinces, the local governors, the governors, and those who did the king’s business helped the Jews, because the fear of Mordecai had fallen on them.

末底改在朝中为大，名声传遍各省，日渐昌盛。

mò dǐ gǎi zài cháo zhōng wèi dà ， míng shēng chuán biàn gè shěng ， rì jiàn chāng shèng 。

For Mordecai was great in the king’s house, and his fame went out throughout all the provinces, for the man Mordecai grew greater and greater.

犹大人用刀击杀一切仇敌，任意杀灭恨他们的人。

yóu dà rén yòng dāo jī shā yí qiè chóu dí ， rèn yì shā miè hèn tā men de rén 。

The Jews struck all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and with slaughter and destruction, and did what they wanted to those who hated them.

在书珊城，犹大人杀灭了五百人；

zài shū shān chéng ， yóu dà rén shā miè le wǔ bǎi rén ；

In the citadel of Susa, the Jews killed and destroyed five hundred men.

又杀巴珊大他、达分、亚斯帕他、

yòu shā bā shān dà tā 、 dá fēn 、 yà sī pà tā 、

They killed Parshandatha, Dalphon, Aspatha,

破拉他、亚大利雅、亚利大他、

pò lā tā 、 yà dà lì yǎ 、 yà lì dà tā 、

Poratha, Adalia, Aridatha,

帕玛斯他、亚利赛、亚利代、瓦耶撒他；

pà mǎ sī tā 、 yà lì sài 、 yà lì dài 、 wǎ yē sā tā ；

Parmashta, Arisai, Aridai, and Vaizatha,

这十人都是哈米大他的孙子、犹大人仇敌哈曼的儿子。犹大人却没有下手夺取财物。

zhè shí rén dōu shì hā mǐ dà tā de sūn zǐ 、 yóu dà rén chóu dí hā màn de ér zi 。 yóu dà rén què méi yǒu xià shǒu duó qǔ cái wù 。

the ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Jews’ enemy, but they didn’t lay their hand on the plunder.

当日，将书珊城被杀的人数呈在王前。

dāng rì ， jiāng shū shān chéng bèi shā de rén shù chéng zài wáng qián 。

On that day, the number of those who were slain in the citadel of Susa was brought before the king.

王对王后以斯帖说：「犹大人在书珊城杀灭了五百人，又杀了哈曼的十个儿子，在王的各省不知如何呢？现在你要什么，我必赐给你；你还求什么，也必为你成就。」

wáng duì wáng hòu yǐ sī tiē shuō ：「 yóu dà rén zài shū shān chéng shā miè le wǔ bǎi rén ， yòu shā le hā màn de shí gè ér zi ， zài wáng de gè shěng bù zhī rú hé ne ？ xiàn zài nǐ yào shén me ， wǒ bì cì gěi nǐ ； nǐ hái qiú shén me ， yě bì wèi nǐ chéng jiù 。」

The king said to Esther the queen, “The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in the citadel of Susa, including the ten sons of Haman; what then have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces! Now what is your petition? It shall be granted you. What is your further request? It shall be done.”

以斯帖说：「王若以为美，求你准书珊的犹大人，明日也照今日的旨意行，并将哈曼十个儿子的尸首挂在木架上。」

yǐ sī tiē shuō ：「 wáng ruò yǐ wéi měi ， qiú nǐ zhǔn shū shān de yóu dà rén ， míng rì yě zhào jīn rì de zhǐ yì xíng ， bìng jiāng hā màn shí gè ér zi de shī shǒu guà zài mù jià shàng 。」

Then Esther said, “If it pleases the king, let it be granted to the Jews who are in Susa to do tomorrow also according to today’s decree, and let Haman’s ten sons be hanged on the gallows.”

王便允准如此行。旨意传在书珊，人就把哈曼十个儿子的尸首挂起来了。

wáng biàn yǔn zhǔn rú cǐ xíng 。 zhǐ yì chuán zài shū shān ， rén jiù bǎ hā màn shí gè ér zi de shī shǒu guà qǐ lái le 。

The king commanded this to be done. A decree was given out in Susa; and they hanged Haman’s ten sons.

亚达月十四日，书珊的犹大人又聚集在书珊，杀了三百人，却没有下手夺取财物。

yà dá yuè shí sì rì ， shū shān de yóu dà rén yòu jù jí zài shū shān ， shā le sān bǎi rén ， què méi yǒu xià shǒu duó qǔ cái wù 。

The Jews who were in Susa gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and killed three hundred men in Susa; but they didn’t lay their hand on the plunder.

在王各省其余的犹大人也都聚集保护性命，杀了恨他们的人七万五千，却没有下手夺取财物。这样，就脱离仇敌，得享平安。

zài wáng gè shěng qí yú de yóu dà rén yě dōu jù jí bǎo hù xìng mìng ， shā le hèn tā men de rén qī wàn wǔ qiān ， què méi yǒu xià shǒu duó qǔ cái wù 。 zhè yàng ， jiù tuō lí chóu dí ， dé xiǎng píng ān 。

The other Jews who were in the king’s provinces gathered themselves together, defended their lives, had rest from their enemies, and killed seventy-five thousand of those who hated them; but they didn’t lay their hand on the plunder.

亚达月十三日，行了这事；十四日安息，以这日为设筵欢乐的日子。

yà dá yuè shí sān rì ， xíng le zhè shì ； shí sì rì ān xī ， yǐ zhè rì wèi shè yán huān lè de rì zi 。

This was done on the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of that month they rested and made it a day of feasting and gladness.

但书珊的犹大人，这十三日、十四日聚集杀戮仇敌；十五日安息，以这日为设筵欢乐的日子。

dàn shū shān de yóu dà rén ， zhè shí sān rì 、 shí sì rì jù jí shā lù chóu dí ； shí wǔ rì ān xī ， yǐ zhè rì wèi shè yán huān lè de rì zi 。

But the Jews who were in Susa assembled together on the thirteenth and on the fourteenth days of the month; and on the fifteenth day of that month, they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.

所以住无城墙乡村的犹大人，如今都以亚达月十四日为设筵欢乐的吉日，彼此馈送礼物。

suǒ yǐ zhù wú chéng qiáng xiāng cūn de yóu dà rén ， rú jīn dōu yǐ yà dá yuè shí sì rì wèi shè yán huān lè de jí rì ， bǐ cǐ kuì sòng lǐ wù 。

Therefore the Jews of the villages, who live in the unwalled towns, make the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, a holiday, and a day of sending presents of food to one another.

末底改记录这事，写信与亚哈随鲁王各省远近所有的犹大人，

mò dǐ gǎi jì lù zhè shì ， xiě xìn yǔ yà hā suí lǔ wáng gè shěng yuǎn jìn suǒ yǒu de yóu dà rén ，

Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters to all the Jews who were in all the provinces of the King Ahasuerus, both near and far,

嘱咐他们每年守亚达月十四、十五两日，

zhǔ fù tā men měi nián shǒu yà dá yuè shí sì 、 shí wǔ liǎng rì ，

to enjoin them that they should keep the fourteenth and fifteenth days of the month Adar yearly,

以这月的两日为犹大人脱离仇敌得平安、转忧为喜、转悲为乐的吉日。在这两日设筵欢乐，彼此馈送礼物，周济穷人。

yǐ zhè yuè de liǎng rì wèi yóu dà rén tuō lí chóu dí dé píng ān 、 zhuǎn yōu wèi xǐ 、 zhuǎn bēi wèi lè de jí rì 。 zài zhè liǎng rì shè yán huān lè ， bǐ cǐ kuì sòng lǐ wù ， zhōu jì qióng rén 。

as the days in which the Jews had rest from their enemies, and the month which was turned to them from sorrow to gladness, and from mourning into a holiday; that they should make them days of feasting and gladness, and of sending presents of food to one another, and gifts to the needy.

于是，犹大人按着末底改所写与他们的信，应承照初次所守的守为永例；

yú shì ， yóu dà rén àn zhe mò dǐ gǎi suǒ xiě yǔ tā men de xìn ， yìng chéng zhào chū cì suǒ shǒu de shǒu wèi yǒng lì ；

The Jews accepted the custom that they had begun, as Mordecai had written to them,

是因犹大人的仇敌亚甲族哈米大他的儿子哈曼设谋杀害犹大人，掣普珥，就是掣签，为要杀尽灭绝他们；

shì yīn yóu dà rén de chóu dí yà jiǎ zú hā mǐ dà tā de ér zi hā màn shè móu shā hài yóu dà rén ， chè pǔ ěr ， jiù shì chè qiān ， wèi yào shā jìn miè jué tā men ；

because Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had plotted against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast “Pur”, that is the lot, to consume them and to destroy them;

这事报告于王，王便降旨使哈曼谋害犹大人的恶事归到他自己的头上，并吩咐把他和他的众子都挂在木架上。

zhè shì bào gào yú wáng ， wáng biàn jiàng zhǐ shǐ hā màn móu hài yóu dà rén de è shì guī dào tā zì jǐ de tóu shàng ， bìng fēn fù bǎ tā hé tā de zhòng zǐ dōu guà zài mù jià shàng 。

but when this became known to the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked plan, which he had planned against the Jews, should return on his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.

照着普珥的名字，犹大人就称这两日为「普珥日」。他们因这信上的话，又因所看见所遇见的事，

zhào zhe pǔ ěr de míng zì ， yóu dà rén jiù chēng zhè liǎng rì wèi 「 pǔ ěr rì 」。 tā men yīn zhè xìn shàng de huà ， yòu yīn suǒ kàn jiàn suǒ yù jiàn de shì ，

Therefore they called these days “Purim”, from the word “Pur.” Therefore because of all the words of this letter, and of that which they had seen concerning this matter, and that which had come to them,

就应承自己与后裔，并归附他们的人，每年按时必守这两日，永远不废。

jiù yìng chéng zì jǐ yǔ hòu yì ， bìng guī fù tā men de rén ， měi nián àn shí bì shǒu zhè liǎng rì ， yǒng yuǎn bú fèi 。

the Jews established and imposed on themselves, on their descendants, and on all those who joined themselves to them, so that it should not fail that they would keep these two days according to what was written and according to its appointed time every year;

各省各城、家家户户、世世代代纪念遵守这两日，使这「普珥日」在犹大人中不可废掉，在他们后裔中也不可忘记。

gè shěng gè chéng 、 jiā jiā hù hù 、 shì shì dài dài jì niàn zūn shǒu zhè liǎng rì ， shǐ zhè 「 pǔ ěr rì 」 zài yóu dà rén zhōng bù kě fèi diào ， zài tā men hòu yì zhōng yě bù kě wàng jì 。

and that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor their memory perish from their offspring.

亚比孩的女儿—王后以斯帖和犹大人末底改以全权写第二封信，坚嘱犹大人守这「普珥日」，

yà bǐ hái de nǚ ér — wáng hòu yǐ sī tiē hé yóu dà rén mò dǐ gǎi yǐ quán quán xiě dì èr fēng xìn ， jiān zhǔ yóu dà rén shǒu zhè 「 pǔ ěr rì 」，

Then Esther the queen, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew wrote with all authority to confirm this second letter of Purim.

用和平诚实话写信给亚哈随鲁王国中一百二十七省所有的犹大人，

yòng hé píng chéng shí huà xiě xìn gěi yà hā suí lǔ wáng guó zhōng yì bǎi èr shí qī shěng suǒ yǒu de yóu dà rén ，

He sent letters to all the Jews in the hundred twenty-seven provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus with words of peace and truth,

劝他们按时守这「普珥日」，禁食呼求，是照犹大人末底改和王后以斯帖所嘱咐的，也照犹大人为自己与后裔所应承的。

quàn tā men àn shí shǒu zhè 「 pǔ ěr rì 」， jìn shí hū qiú ， shì zhào yóu dà rén mò dǐ gǎi hé wáng hòu yǐ sī tiē suǒ zhǔ fù de ， yě zhào yóu dà rén wéi zì jǐ yǔ hòu yì suǒ yìng chéng de 。

to confirm these days of Purim in their appointed times, as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had decreed, and as they had imposed upon themselves and their descendants in the matter of the fastings and their mourning.

以斯帖命定守「普珥日」，这事也记录在书上。

yǐ sī tiē mìng dìng shǒu 「 pǔ ěr rì 」， zhè shì yě jì lù zài shū shàng 。

The commandment of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written in the book.
