xīn zhōng de móu suàn zài hū rén ; shé tou de yìng duì yóu yú yē hé huá 。

The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.

rén yí qiè suǒ xíng de , zài zì jǐ yǎn zhōng kàn wèi qīng jié ; wéi yǒu yē hé huá héng liáng rén xīn 。

All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the motives.

nǐ suǒ zuò de , yào jiāo tuō yē hé huá , nǐ suǒ móu de , jiù bì chéng lì 。

Commit your deeds to the LORD, and your plans shall succeed.

yē hé huá suǒ zào de , gè shì qí yòng ; jiù shì è rén yě wèi huò huàn de rì zi suǒ zào 。

The LORD has made everything for its own end— yes, even the wicked for the day of evil.

fán xīn lǐ jiāo ào de , wèi yē hé huá suǒ zēng wù ; suī rán lián shǒu , tā bì bù miǎn shòu fá 。

Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; they shall certainly not be unpunished.

yīn lián mǐn chéng shí , zuì niè dé shú ; jìng wèi yē hé huá de , yuǎn lí è shì 。

By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for. By the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

rén suǒ xíng de , ruò méng yē hé huá xǐ yuè , yē hé huá yě shǐ tā de chóu dí yǔ tā hé hǎo 。

When a man’s ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

duō yǒu cái lì , xíng shì bú yì , bù rú shǎo yǒu cái lì , xíng shì gōng yì 。

Better is a little with righteousness, than great revenues with injustice.

rén xīn chóu suàn zì jǐ de dào lù ; wéi yē hé huá zhǐ yǐn tā de jiǎo bù 。

A man’s heart plans his course, but the LORD directs his steps.

wáng de zuǐ zhōng yǒu shén yǔ , shěn pàn zhī shí , tā de kǒu bì bú chā cuò 。

Inspired judgments are on the lips of the king. He shall not betray his mouth.

gōng dào de tiān píng hé chèng dōu shǔ yē hé huá ; náng zhōng yí qiè fǎ mǎ dōu wèi tā suǒ dìng 。

Honest balances and scales are the LORD’s; all the weights in the bag are his work.

zuò è , wèi wáng suǒ zēng wù , yīn guó wèi shì kào gōng yì jiān lì 。

It is an abomination for kings to do wrong, for the throne is established by righteousness.

gōng yì de zuǐ wèi wáng suǒ xǐ yuè ; shuō zhèng zhí huà de , wèi wáng suǒ xǐ ài 。

Righteous lips are the delight of kings. They value one who speaks the truth.

wáng de zhèn nù rú shā rén de shǐ zhě ; dàn zhì huì rén néng zhǐ xī wáng nù 。

The king’s wrath is a messenger of death, but a wise man will pacify it.

使

wáng de liǎn guāng shǐ rén yǒu shēng mìng ; wáng de ēn diǎn hǎo xiàng chūn yún shí yǔ 。

In the light of the king’s face is life. His favor is like a cloud of the spring rain.

dé zhì huì shèng sì dé jīn zǐ ; xuǎn cōng ming qiáng rú xuǎn yín zi 。

How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

zhèng zhí rén de dào shì yuǎn lí è shì ; jǐn shǒu jǐ lù de , shì bǎo quán xìng mìng 。

The highway of the upright is to depart from evil. He who keeps his way preserves his soul.

jiāo ào zài bài huài yǐ xiān ; kuáng xīn zài diē dǎo zhī qián 。

Pride goes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.

xīn lǐ qiān bēi yǔ qióng fá rén lái wǎng , qiáng rú jiāng lǔ wù yǔ jiāo ào rén tóng fēn 。

It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, than to divide the plunder with the proud.

便

jǐn shǒu xùn yán de , bì dé hǎo chù ; yǐ kào yē hé huá de , biàn wèi yǒu fú 。

He who heeds the Word finds prosperity. Whoever trusts in the LORD is blessed.

xīn zhōng yǒu zhì huì , bì chēng wéi tōng dá rén ; zuǐ zhōng de tián yán , jiā zēng rén de xué wèn 。

The wise in heart shall be called prudent. Pleasantness of the lips promotes instruction.

rén yǒu zhì huì jiù yǒu shēng mìng de quán yuán ; yú mèi rén bì bèi yú mèi chéng zhì 。

Understanding is a fountain of life to one who has it, but the punishment of fools is their folly.

使

zhì huì rén de xīn jiào xùn tā de kǒu , yòu shǐ tā de zuǐ zēng zhǎng xué wèn 。

The heart of the wise instructs his mouth, and adds learning to his lips.

liáng yán rú tóng fēng fáng , shǐ xīn jué gān tián , shǐ gǔ dé yī zhì 。

Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

yǒu yì tiáo lù , rén yǐ wéi zhèng , zhì zhōng chéng wéi sǐ wáng zhī lù 。

There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.

láo lì rén de wèi kǒu shǐ tā láo lì , yīn wèi tā de kǒu fù cuī bī tā 。

The appetite of the laboring man labors for him, for his mouth urges him on.

仿

fěi tú tú móu jiān è , zuǐ shàng fǎng fú yǒu shāo jiāo de huǒ 。

A worthless man devises mischief. His speech is like a scorching fire.

guāi pì rén bō sàn fēn zhēng ; chuán shé de , lí jiàn mì yǒu 。

A perverse man stirs up strife. A whisperer separates close friends.

qiáng bào rén yòu huò lín shè , lǐng tā zǒu bú shàn zhī dào 。

A man of violence entices his neighbor, and leads him in a way that is not good.

yǎn mù jǐn hé de , tú móu guāi pì ; zuǐ chún jǐn bì de , chéng jiù xié è 。

One who winks his eyes to plot perversities, one who compresses his lips, is bent on evil.

耀

bái fà shì róng yào de guān miǎn , zài gōng yì de dào shàng bì néng dé zhe 。

Gray hair is a crown of glory. It is attained by a life of righteousness.

bù qīng yì fā nù de , shèng guò yǒng shì ; zhì fú jǐ xīn de , qiáng rú qǔ chéng 。

One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.

怀

qiān fàng zài huái lǐ , dìng shì yóu yē hé huá 。

The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.
