wǒ qiě shuō , shén qì jué le tā de bǎi xìng ma ? duàn hū méi yǒu ! yīn wèi wǒ yě shì yǐ sè liè rén , yà bó lā hǎn de hòu yì , shǔ biàn yǎ mǐn zhī pài de 。

I ask then, did God reject his people? May it never be! For I also am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

shén bìng méi yǒu qì jué tā yù xiān suǒ zhī dào de bǎi xìng 。 nǐ men qǐ bù xiǎo de jīng shàng lùn dào yǐ lì yà shì zěn me shuō de ne ? tā zài shén miàn qián zěn yàng kòng gào yǐ sè liè rén shuō :

God didn’t reject his people, whom he foreknew. Or don’t you know what the Scripture says about Elijah? How he pleads with God against Israel:

。」

「 zhǔ a , tā men shā le nǐ de xiān zhī , chāi le nǐ de jì tán , zhī shèng xià wǒ yí gè rén ; tā men hái yào xún suǒ wǒ de mìng 。」

“Lord, they have killed your prophets. They have broken down your altars. I am left alone, and they seek my life.”

shén de huí huà shì zěn me shuō de ne ? tā shuō :「 wǒ wèi zì jǐ liú xià qī qiān rén , shì wèi céng xiàng bā lì qū xī de 。」

But how does God answer him? “I have reserved for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”

rú jīn yě shì zhè yàng , zhào zhe jiǎn xuǎn de ēn diǎn , hái yǒu suǒ liú de yú shù 。

Even so too at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

jì shì chū yú ēn diǎn , jiù bú zài hu xíng wéi ; bù rán , ēn diǎn jiù bú shì ēn diǎn le 。

And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

zhè shì zěn me yàng ne ? yǐ sè liè rén suǒ qiú de , tā men méi yǒu dé zhe 。 wéi yǒu méng jiǎn xuǎn de rén dé zhe le ; qí yú de jiù chéng le wán gěng bú huà de 。

What then? That which Israel seeks for, that he didn’t obtain, but the chosen ones obtained it, and the rest were hardened.

rú jīng shàng suǒ jì : shén gěi tā men hūn mí de xīn , yǎn jīng bù néng kàn jiàn , ěr duo bù néng tīng jiàn , zhí dào jīn rì 。

According as it is written, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, to this very day.”

dà wèi yě shuō : yuàn tā men de yán xí biàn wèi wǎng luó , biàn wèi jī kǎn , biàn wèi bàn jiǎo shí , zuò tā men de bào yìng 。

David says, “Let their table be made a snare, a trap, a stumbling block, and a retribution to them.

yuàn tā men de yǎn jīng hūn méng , bù dé kàn jiàn ; yuàn nǐ shí cháng wān xià tā men de yāo 。

Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see. Always keep their backs bent.”

便

wǒ qiě shuō , tā men shī jiǎo shì yào tā men diē dǎo ma ? duàn hū bú shì ! fǎn dǎo yīn tā men de guò shī , jiù ēn biàn lín dào wài bāng rén , yào jī dòng tā men fā fèn 。

I ask then, did they stumble that they might fall? May it never be! But by their fall salvation has come to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.

ruò tā men de guò shī wèi tiān xià de fù zú , tā men de quē fá wèi wài bāng rén de fù zú , hé kuàng tā men de fēng mǎn ne ?

Now if their fall is the riches of the world, and their loss the riches of the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!

使

wǒ duì nǐ men wài bāng rén shuō zhè huà ; yīn wǒ shì wài bāng rén de shǐ tú , suǒ yǐ jìng zhòng wǒ de zhí fēn ,

For I speak to you who are Gentiles. Since then as I am an apostle to Gentiles, I glorify my ministry,

huò zhě kě yǐ jī dòng wǒ gǔ ròu zhī qīn fā fèn , hǎo jiù tā men yì xiē rén 。

if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh, and may save some of them.

ruò tā men bèi diū qì , tiān xià jiù dé yǔ shén hé hǎo , tā men bèi shōu nà , qǐ bú shì sǐ ér fù shēng ma ?

For if the rejection of them is the reconciling of the world, what would their acceptance be, but life from the dead?

suǒ xiàn de xīn miàn ruò shì shèng jié , quán tuán yě jiù shèng jié le ; shù gēn ruò shì shèng jié , shù zhī yě jiù shèng jié le 。

If the first fruit is holy, so is the lump. If the root is holy, so are the branches.

ruò yǒu jǐ gēn zhī zǐ bèi zhé xià lái , nǐ zhè yě gǎn lǎn dé jiē zài qí zhōng , yì tóng dé zhe gǎn lǎn gēn de féi zhī ,

But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the root and of the richness of the olive tree,

nǐ jiù bù kě xiàng jiù zhī zǐ kuā kǒu ; ruò shì kuā kǒu , dāng zhī dào bú shì nǐ tuō zhe gēn , nǎi shì gēn tuō zhe nǐ 。

don’t boast over the branches. But if you boast, remember that it is not you who support the root, but the root supports you.

nǐ ruò shuō , nà zhī zǐ bèi zhé xià lái shì tè wèi jiào wǒ jiē shàng 。

You will say then, “Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.”

bú cuò ! tā men yīn wèi bú xìn , suǒ yǐ bèi zhé xià lái ; nǐ yīn wèi xìn , suǒ yǐ lì dé zhù ; nǐ bù kě zì gāo , fǎn yào jù pà 。

True; by their unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by your faith. Don’t be conceited, but fear;

shén jì bú ài xī yuán lái de zhī zǐ , yě bì bú ài xī nǐ 。

for if God didn’t spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.

kě jiàn , shén de ēn cí hé yán lì xiàng nà diē dǎo de rén shì yán lì de , xiàng nǐ shì yǒu ēn cí de , zhǐ yào nǐ cháng jiǔ zài tā de ēn cí lǐ ; bù rán , nǐ yě yào bèi kǎn xià lái 。

See then the goodness and severity of God. Toward those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness; otherwise you also will be cut off.

ér qiě tā men ruò bú shì cháng jiǔ bú xìn , réng yào bèi jiē shàng , yīn wèi shén néng gòu bǎ tā men cóng xīn jiē shàng 。

They also, if they don’t continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.

nǐ shì cóng nà tiān shēng de yě gǎn lǎn shàng kǎn xià lái de , shàng qiě nì zhe xìng dé jiē zài hǎo gǎn lǎn shàng , hé kuàng zhè běn shù de zhī zǐ , yào jiē zài běn shù shàng ne !

For if you were cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree, how much more will these, which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

dì xiong men , wǒ bú yuàn yì nǐ men bù zhī dào zhè ào mì ( kǒng pà nǐ men zì yǐ wéi cōng ming ), jiù shì yǐ sè liè rén yǒu jǐ fēn shì yìng xīn de , děng dào wài bāng rén de shù mù tiān mǎn le ,

For I don’t desire you to be ignorant, brothers, of this mystery, so that you won’t be wise in your own conceits, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in,

yú shì yǐ sè liè quán jiā dōu yào dé jiù 。 rú jīng shàng suǒ jì : bì yǒu yí wèi jiù zhǔ cóng xī ān chū lái , yào xiāo chú yǎ gè jiā de yí qiè zuì è ;

and so all Israel will be saved. Even as it is written, “There will come out of Zion the Deliverer, and he will turn away ungodliness from Jacob.

yòu shuō : wǒ chú qù tā men zuì de shí hòu , zhè jiù shì wǒ yǔ tā men suǒ lì de yuē 。

This is my covenant with them, when I will take away their sins.”

jiù zhe fú yīn shuō , tā men wèi nǐ men de yuán gù shì chóu dí ; jiù zhe jiǎn xuǎn shuō , tā men wèi liè zǔ de yuán gù shì méng ài de 。

Concerning the Good News, they are enemies for your sake. But concerning the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sake.

yīn wèi shén de ēn cì hé xuǎn zhào shì méi yǒu hòu huǐ de 。

For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

nǐ men cóng qián bú shùn fú shén , rú jīn yīn tā men de bú shùn fú , nǐ men dǎo méng le lián xù 。

For as you in time past were disobedient to God, but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience,

zhè yàng , tā men yě shì bú shùn fú , jiào tā men yīn zhe shī gěi nǐ men de lián xù , xiàn zài yě jiù méng lián xù 。

even so these also have now been disobedient, that by the mercy shown to you they may also obtain mercy.

yīn wèi shén jiāng zhòng rén dōu quān zài bú shùn fú zhī zhōng , tè yì yào lián xù zhòng rén 。

For God has bound all to disobedience, that he might have mercy on all.

shēn zāi , shén fēng fù de zhì huì hé zhī shi ! tā de pàn duàn hé qí nán cè ! tā de zōng jì hé qí nán xún !

Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out!

shuí zhī dào zhǔ de xīn ? shuí zuò guò tā de móu shì ne ?

“For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?”

使

shuí shì xiān gěi le tā , shǐ tā hòu lái cháng huán ne ?

“Or who has first given to him, and it will be repaid to him again?”

耀

yīn wèi wàn yǒu dōu shì běn yú tā , yǐ kào tā , guī yú tā 。 yuàn róng yào guī gěi tā , zhí dào yǒng yuǎn 。 ā men !

For of him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory for ever! Amen.
