大衛出去迎接他們，對他們說：「你們若是和和平平地來幫助我，我心就與你們相契；你們若是將我這無罪的人賣在敵人手裏，願我們列祖的上帝察看責罰。」
dà wèi chū qù yíng jiē tā men ， duì tā men shuō ：「 nǐ men ruò shì hé hé píng píng dì lái bāng zhù wǒ ， wǒ xīn jiù yǔ nǐ men xiāng qì ； nǐ men ruò shì jiāng wǒ zhè wú zuì de rén mài zài dí rén shǒu lǐ ， yuàn wǒ men liè zǔ de shén chá kàn zé fá 。」
David went out to meet them, and answered them, “If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart will be united with you; but if you have come to betray me to my adversaries, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers see this and rebuke it.”
