亞瑪謝登基的時候年二十五歲，在耶路撒冷作王二十九年。他母親名叫約耶但，是耶路撒冷人。

yà mǎ xiè dēng jī de shí hòu nián èr shí wǔ suì ， zài yē lù sā lěng zuò wáng èr shí jiǔ nián 。 tā mǔ qīn míng jiào yuē yē dàn ， shì yē lù sā lěng rén 。

Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jehoaddan, of Jerusalem.

亞瑪謝行耶和華眼中看為正的事，只是心不專誠。

yà mǎ xiè xíng yē hé huá yǎn zhōng kàn wèi zhèng de shì ， zhǐ shì xīn bù zhuān chéng 。

He did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes, but not with a perfect heart.

國一堅定，就把殺他父王的臣僕殺了，

guó yì jiān dìng ， jiù bǎ shā tā fù wáng de chén pú shā le ，

Now when the kingdom was established to him, he killed his servants who had killed his father the king.

卻沒有治死他們的兒子，是照摩西律法書上耶和華所吩咐的說：「不可因子殺父，也不可因父殺子，各人要為本身的罪而死。」

què méi yǒu zhì sǐ tā men de ér zǐ ， shì zhào mó xī lǜ fǎ shū shàng yē hé huá suǒ fēn fù de shuō ：「 bù kě yīn zǐ shā fù ， yě bù kě yīn fù shā zǐ ， gè rén yào wèi běn shēn de zuì ér sǐ 。」

But he didn’t put their children to death, but did according to that which is written in the law in the book of Moses, as the LORD commanded, saying, “The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.”

亞瑪謝招聚猶大人，按着猶大和便雅憫的宗族設立千夫長、百夫長，又數點人數，從二十歲以外，能拿槍拿盾牌出去打仗的精兵共有三十萬；

yà mǎ xiè zhāo jù yóu dà rén ， àn zhe yóu dà hé biàn yǎ mǐn de zōng zú shè lì qiān fū cháng 、 bǎi fū zhǎng ， yòu shù diǎn rén shù ， cóng èr shí suì yǐ wài ， néng ná qiāng ná dùn pái chū qù dǎ zhàng de jīng bīng gòng yǒu sān shí wàn ；

Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together and ordered them according to their fathers’ houses, under captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, even all Judah and Benjamin. He counted them from twenty years old and upward, and found that there were three hundred thousand chosen men, able to go out to war, who could handle spear and shield.

又用銀子一百他連得，從以色列招募了十萬大能的勇士。

yòu yòng yín zi yì bǎi tā lián dé ， cóng yǐ sè liè zhāo mù le shí wàn dà néng de yǒng shì 。

He also hired one hundred thousand mighty men of valor out of Israel for one hundred talents of silver.

有一個神人來見亞瑪謝，對他說：「王啊，不要使以色列的軍兵與你同去，因為耶和華不與以色列人以法蓮的後裔同在。

yǒu yí gè shén rén lái jiàn yà mǎ xiè ， duì tā shuō ：「 wáng a ， bú yào shǐ yǐ sè liè de jūn bīng yǔ nǐ tóng qù ， yīn wèi yē hé huá bù yǔ yǐ sè liè rén yǐ fǎ lián de hòu yì tóng zài 。

A man of God came to him, saying, “O king, don’t let the army of Israel go with you, for the LORD is not with Israel, with all the children of Ephraim.

你若一定要去，就奮勇爭戰吧！但上帝必使你敗在敵人面前；因為上帝能助人得勝，也能使人傾敗。」

nǐ ruò yí dìng yào qù ， jiù fèn yǒng zhēng zhàn ba ！ dàn shén bì shǐ nǐ bài zài dí rén miàn qián ； yīn wèi shén néng zhù rén dé shèng ， yě néng shǐ rén qīng bài 。」

But if you will go, take action, and be strong for the battle. God will overthrow you before the enemy; for God has power to help, and to overthrow.”

亞瑪謝問神人說：「我給了以色列軍的那一百他連得銀子怎麼樣呢？」神人回答說：「耶和華能把更多的賜給你。」

yà mǎ xiè wèn shén rén shuō ：「 wǒ gěi le yǐ sè liè jūn de nà yì bǎi tā lián dé yín zi zěn me yàng ne ？」 shén rén huí dá shuō ：「 yē hé huá néng bǎ gèng duō de cì gěi nǐ 。」

Amaziah said to the man of God, “But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel?” The man of God answered, “The LORD is able to give you much more than this.”

於是亞瑪謝將那從以法蓮來的軍兵分別出來，叫他們回家去。故此，他們甚惱怒猶大人，氣忿忿地回家去了。

yú shì yà mǎ xiè jiāng nà cóng yǐ fǎ lián lái de jūn bīng fēn bié chū lái ， jiào tā men huí jiā qù 。 gù cǐ ， tā men shèn nǎo nù yóu dà rén ， qì fèn fèn dì huí jiā qù le 。

Then Amaziah separated them, the army that had come to him out of Ephraim, to go home again. Therefore their anger was greatly kindled against Judah, and they returned home in fierce anger.

亞瑪謝壯起膽來，率領他的民到鹽谷，殺了西珥人一萬。

yà mǎ xiè zhuàng qǐ dǎn lái ， shuài lǐng tā de mín dào yán gǔ ， shā le xī ěr rén yí wàn 。

Amaziah took courage, and led his people out and went to the Valley of Salt, and struck ten thousand of the children of Seir.

猶大人又生擒了一萬帶到山崖上，從那裏把他們扔下去，以致他們都摔碎了。

yóu dà rén yòu shēng qín le yí wàn dài dào shān yá shàng ， cóng nà lǐ bǎ tā men rēng xià qù ， yǐ zhì tā men dōu shuāi suì le 。

The children of Judah carried away ten thousand alive, and brought them to the top of the rock, and threw them down from the top of the rock, so that they all were broken in pieces.

但亞瑪謝所打發回去、不許一同出征的那些軍兵攻打猶大各城，從撒馬利亞直到伯‧和崙，殺了三千人，搶了許多財物。

dàn yà mǎ xiè suǒ dǎ fā huí qù 、 bù xǔ yì tóng chū zhēng de nà xiē jūn bīng gōng dǎ yóu dà gè chéng ， cóng sā mǎ lì yà zhí dào bó · hé ， shā le sān qiān rén ， qiǎng le xǔ duō cái wù 。

But the men of the army whom Amaziah sent back, that they should not go with him to battle, fell on the cities of Judah from Samaria even to Beth Horon, and struck of them three thousand, and took much plunder.

亞瑪謝殺了以東人回來，就把西珥的神像帶回，立為自己的神，在它面前叩拜燒香。

yà mǎ xiè shā le yǐ dōng rén huí lái ， jiù bǎ xī ěr de shén xiàng dài huí ， lì wèi zì jǐ de shén ， zài tā miàn qián kòu bài shāo xiāng 。

Now after Amaziah had come from the slaughter of the Edomites, he brought the gods of the children of Seir, and set them up to be his gods, and bowed down himself before them and burned incense to them.

因此，耶和華的怒氣向亞瑪謝發作，就差一個先知去見他，說：「這些神不能救它的民脫離你的手，你為何尋求它呢？」

yīn cǐ ， yē hé huá de nù qì xiàng yà mǎ xiè fā zuò ， jiù chà yí gè xiān zhī qù jiàn tā ， shuō ：「 zhè xiē shén bù néng jiù tā de mín tuō lí nǐ de shǒu ， nǐ wèi hé xún qiú tā ne ？」

Therefore the LORD’s anger burned against Amaziah, and he sent to him a prophet who said to him, “Why have you sought after the gods of the people, which have not delivered their own people out of your hand?”

先知與王說話的時候，王對他說：「誰立你作王的謀士呢？你住口吧！為何找打呢？」先知就止住了，又說：「你行這事，不聽從我的勸戒，我知道上帝定意要滅你。」

xiān zhī yǔ wáng shuō huà de shí hòu ， wáng duì tā shuō ：「 shuí lì nǐ zuò wáng de móu shì ne ？ nǐ zhù kǒu ba ！ wèi hé zhǎo dǎ ne ？」 xiān zhī jiù zhǐ zhù le ， yòu shuō ：「 nǐ xíng zhè shì ， bù tīng cóng wǒ de quàn jiè ， wǒ zhī dào shén dìng yì yào miè nǐ 。」

As he talked with him, the king said to him, “Have we made you one of the king’s counselors? Stop! Why should you be struck down?” Then the prophet stopped, and said, “I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.”

猶大王亞瑪謝與群臣商議，就差遣使者去見耶戶的孫子、約哈斯的兒子、以色列王約阿施，說：「你來，我們二人相見於戰場。」

yóu dà wáng yà mǎ xiè yǔ qún chén shāng yì ， jiù chāi qiǎn shǐ zhě qù jiàn yē hù de sūn zi 、 yuē hā sī de ér zi 、 yǐ sè liè wáng yuē ā shī ， shuō ：「 nǐ lái ， wǒ men èr rén xiāng jiàn yú zhàn chǎng 。」

Then Amaziah king of Judah consulted his advisers, and sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, “Come! Let’s look one another in the face.”

以色列王約阿施差遣使者去見猶大王亞瑪謝，說：「黎巴嫩的蒺藜差遣使者去見黎巴嫩的香柏樹，說：『將你的女兒給我兒子為妻。』後來黎巴嫩有一個野獸經過，把蒺藜踐踏了。

yǐ sè liè wáng yuē ā shī chà qiǎn shǐ zhě qù jiàn yóu dà wáng yà mǎ xiè ， shuō ：「 lí bā nèn de jí lí chāi qiǎn shǐ zhě qù jiàn lí bā nèn de xiāng bǎi shù ， shuō ：『 jiāng nǐ de nǚ ér gěi wǒ ér zǐ wèi qī 。』 hòu lái lí bā nèn yǒu yí gè yě shòu jīng guò ， bǎ jí lí jiàn tà le 。

Joash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, “The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son as his wife. Then a wild animal that was in Lebanon passed by and trampled down the thistle.

你說：『看哪，我打敗了以東人』，你就心高氣傲，以致矜誇。你在家裏安居就罷了，為何要惹禍使自己和猶大國一同敗亡呢？」

nǐ shuō ：『 kàn nǎ ， wǒ dǎ bài le yǐ dōng rén 』， nǐ jiù xīn gāo qì ào ， yǐ zhì jīn kuā 。 nǐ zài jiā lǐ ān jū jiù bà le ， wèi hé yào rě huò shǐ zì jǐ hé yóu dà guó yì tóng bài wáng ne ？」

You say to yourself that you have struck Edom; and your heart lifts you up to boast. Now stay at home. Why should you meddle with trouble, that you should fall, even you and Judah with you?’”

亞瑪謝卻不肯聽從。這是出乎上帝，好將他們交在敵人手裏，因為他們尋求以東的神。

yà mǎ xiè què bù kěn tīng cóng 。 zhè shì chū hū shén ， hǎo jiāng tā men jiāo zài dí rén shǒu lǐ ， yīn wèi tā men xún qiú yǐ dōng de shén 。

But Amaziah would not listen; for it was of God, that he might deliver them into the hand of their enemies, because they had sought after the gods of Edom.

於是以色列王約阿施上來，在猶大的伯‧示麥與猶大王亞瑪謝相見於戰場。

yú shì yǐ sè liè wáng yuē ā shī shàng lái ， zài yóu dà de bó · shì mài yǔ yóu dà wáng yà mǎ xiè xiāng jiàn yú zhàn chǎng 。

So Joash king of Israel went up, and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth Shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

猶大人敗在以色列人面前，各自逃回家裏去了。

yóu dà rén bài zài yǐ sè liè rén miàn qián ， gè zì táo huí jiā lǐ qù le 。

Judah was defeated by Israel; so every man fled to his tent.

以色列王約阿施在伯‧示麥擒住約哈斯 的孫子、約阿施的兒子、猶大王亞瑪謝，將他帶到耶路撒冷，又拆毀耶路撒冷的城牆，從以法蓮門直到角門，共四百肘；

yǐ sè liè wáng yuē ā shī zài bó · shì mài qín zhù yuē hā sī de sūn zi 、 yuē ā shī de ér zi 、 yóu dà wáng yà mǎ xiè ， jiāng tā dài dào yē lù sā lěng ， yòu chāi huǐ yē lù sā lěng de chéng qiáng ， cóng yǐ fǎ lián mén zhí dào jiǎo mén ， gòng sì bǎi zhǒu ；

Joash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash the son of Jehoahaz, at Beth Shemesh and brought him to Jerusalem, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

又將俄別‧以東所看守上帝殿裏的一切金銀和器皿，與王宮裏的財寶都拿了去，並帶人去為質，就回撒馬利亞去了。

yòu jiāng é bié · yǐ dōng suǒ kān shǒu shén diàn lǐ de yí qiè jīn yín hé qì mǐn ， yǔ wáng gōng lǐ de cái bǎo dōu ná le qù ， bìng dài rén qù wèi zhì ， jiù huí sā mǎ lì yà qù le 。

He took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in God’s house with Obed-Edom, and the treasures of the king’s house, and the hostages, and returned to Samaria.

以色列王約哈斯的兒子約阿施死後，猶大王約阿施的兒子亞瑪謝又活了十五年。

yǐ sè liè wáng yuē hā sī de ér zǐ yuē ā shī sǐ hòu ， yóu dà wáng yuē ā shī de ér zi yà mǎ xiè yòu huó le shí wǔ nián 。

Amaziah the son of Joash, king of Judah, lived for fifteen years after the death of Joash, son of Jehoahaz, king of Israel.

亞瑪謝其餘的事，自始至終不都寫在猶大和以色列諸王記上嗎？

yà mǎ xiè qí yú de shì ， zì shǐ zhì zhōng bù dōu xiě zài yóu dà hé yǐ sè liè zhū wáng jì shàng ma ？

Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, first and last, behold, aren’t they written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel?

自從亞瑪謝離棄耶和華之後，在耶路撒冷有人背叛他，他就逃到拉吉；叛黨卻打發人到拉吉，將他殺了。

zì cóng yà mǎ xiè lí qì yē hé huá zhī hòu ， zài yē lù sā lěng yǒu rén bèi pàn tā ， tā jiù táo dào lā jí ； pàn dǎng què dǎ fā rén dào lā jí ， jiāng tā shā le 。

Now from the time that Amaziah turned away from following the LORD, they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem. He fled to Lachish, but they sent after him to Lachish and killed him there.

人就用馬將他的屍首馱回，葬在猶大京城他列祖的墳地裏。

rén jiù yòng mǎ jiāng tā de shī shǒu tuó huí ， zàng zài yóu dà jīng chéng tā liè zǔ de fén dì lǐ 。

They brought him on horses and buried him with his fathers in the City of Judah.
