這虔誠的事以後，亞述王西拿基立來侵入猶大，圍困一切堅固城，想要攻破佔據。

zhè qián chéng de shì yǐ hòu ， yà shù wáng xī ná jī lì lái qīn rù yóu dà ， wéi kùn yí qiè jiān gù chéng ， xiǎng yào gōng pò zhàn jù 。

After these things and this faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, entered into Judah, encamped against the fortified cities, and intended to win them for himself.

希西家見西拿基立來，定意要攻打耶路撒冷，

xī xī jiā jiàn xī ná jī lì lái ， dìng yì yào gōng dǎ yē lù sā lěng ，

When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come, and that he was planning to fight against Jerusalem,

就與首領和勇士商議，塞住城外的泉源；他們就都幫助他。

jiù yǔ shǒu lǐng hé yǒng shì shāng yì ， sāi zhù chéng wài de quán yuán ； tā men jiù dōu bāng zhù tā 。

he took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the springs which were outside of the city, and they helped him.

於是有許多人聚集，塞了一切泉源，並通流國中的小河，說：「亞述王來，為何讓他得着許多水呢？」

yú shì yǒu xǔ duō rén jù jí ， sāi le yí qiè quán yuán ， bìng tōng liú guó zhōng de xiǎo hé ， shuō ：「 yà shù wáng lái ， wèi hé ràng tā dé zhe xǔ duō shuǐ ne ？」

Then many people gathered together and they stopped all the springs and the brook that flowed through the middle of the land, saying, “Why should the kings of Assyria come, and find abundant water?”

希西家力圖自強，就修築所有拆毀的城牆，高與城樓相齊；在城外又築一城，堅固大衛城的米羅，製造了許多軍器、盾牌；

xī xī jiā lì tú zì qiáng ， jiù xiū zhù suǒ yǒu chāi huǐ de chéng qiáng ， gāo yǔ chéng lóu xiāng qí ； zài chéng wài yòu zhù yì chéng ， jiān gù dà wèi chéng de mǐ luó ， zhì zào le xǔ duō jūn qì 、 dùn pái ；

He took courage, built up all the wall that was broken down, and raised it up to the towers, with the other wall outside, and strengthened Millo in David’s city, and made weapons and shields in abundance.

設立軍長管理百姓，將他們招聚在城門的寬闊處，用話勉勵他們，說：

shè lì jūn zhǎng guǎn lǐ bǎi xìng ， jiāng tā men zhāo jù zài chéng mén de kuān kuò chù ， yòng huà miǎn lì tā men ， shuō ：

He set captains of war over the people, gathered them together to him in the wide place at the gate of the city, and spoke encouragingly to them, saying,

「你們當剛強壯膽，不要因亞述王和跟隨他的大軍恐懼、驚慌；因為與我們同在的，比與他們同在的更大。

「 nǐ men dāng gāng qiáng zhuàng dǎn ， bú yào yīn yà shù wáng hé gēn suí tā de dà jūn kǒng jù 、 jīng huāng ； yīn wèi yǔ wǒ men tóng zài de ， bǐ yǔ tā men tóng zài de gèng dà 。

“Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or dismayed because of the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude who is with him; for there is a greater one with us than with him.

與他們同在的是肉臂，與我們同在的是耶和華－我們的上帝，他必幫助我們，為我們爭戰。」百姓就靠猶大王希西家的話，安然無懼了。

yǔ tā men tóng zài de shì ròu bì ， yǔ wǒ men tóng zài de shì yē hé huá — wǒ men de shén ， tā bì bāng zhù wǒ men ， wèi wǒ men zhēng zhàn 。」 bǎi xìng jiù kào yóu dà wáng xī xī jiā de huà ， ān rán wú jù le 。

An arm of flesh is with him, but the LORD our God is with us to help us and to fight our battles.” The people rested themselves on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

此後，亞述王西拿基立和他的全軍攻打拉吉，就差遣臣僕到耶路撒冷見猶大王希西家和一切在耶路撒冷的猶大人，說：

cǐ hòu ， yà shù wáng xī ná jī lì hé tā de quán jūn gōng dǎ lā jí ， jiù chāi qiǎn chén pú dào yē lù sā lěng jiàn yóu dà wáng xī xī jiā hé yí qiè zài yē lù sā lěng de yóu dà rén ， shuō ：

After this, Sennacherib king of Assyria sent his servants to Jerusalem, (now he was attacking Lachish, and all his forces were with him), to Hezekiah king of Judah, and to all Judah who were at Jerusalem, saying,

「亞述王西拿基立如此說：『你們倚靠甚麼，還在耶路撒冷受困呢？

「 yà shù wáng xī ná jī lì rú cǐ shuō ：『 nǐ men yǐ kào shén me ， hái zài yē lù sā lěng shòu kùn ne ？

Sennacherib king of Assyria says, “In whom do you trust, that you remain under siege in Jerusalem?

希西家對你們說「耶和華－我們的上帝必救我們脫離亞述王的手」，這不是誘惑你們，使你們受飢渴而死嗎？

xī xī jiā duì nǐ men shuō 「 yē hé huá — wǒ men de shén bì jiù wǒ men tuō lí yà shù wáng de shǒu 」， zhè bú shì yòu huò nǐ men ， shǐ nǐ men shòu jī kě ér sǐ ma ？

Doesn’t Hezekiah persuade you to give you over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, ‘The LORD our God will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria’?

這希西家豈不是廢去耶和華的邱壇和祭壇，吩咐猶大與耶路撒冷的人說「你們當在一個壇前敬拜，在其上燒香」嗎？

zhè xī xī jiā qǐ bú shì fèi qù yē hé huá de qiū tán hé jì tán ， fēn fù yóu dà yǔ yē lù sā lěng de rén shuō 「 nǐ men dāng zài yí gè tán qián jìng bài ， zài qí shàng shāo xiāng 」 ma ？

Hasn’t the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, ‘You shall worship before one altar, and you shall burn incense on it’?

我與我列祖向列邦所行的，你們豈不知道嗎？列邦的神何嘗能救自己的國脫離我手呢？

wǒ yǔ wǒ liè zǔ xiàng liè bāng suǒ xíng de ， nǐ men qǐ bù zhī dào ma ？ liè bāng de shén hé cháng néng jiù zì jǐ de guó tuō lí wǒ shǒu ne ？

Don’t you know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands in any way able to deliver their land out of my hand?

我列祖所滅的國，那些神中誰能救自己的民脫離我手呢？難道你們的神能救你們脫離我手嗎？

wǒ liè zǔ suǒ miè de guó ， nà xiē shén zhōng shuí néng jiù zì jǐ de mín tuō lí wǒ shǒu ne ？ nán dào nǐ men de shén néng jiù nǐ men tuō lí wǒ shǒu ma ？

Who was there among all the gods of those nations which my fathers utterly destroyed that could deliver his people out of my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of my hand?

所以你們不要叫希西家這樣欺哄誘惑你們，也不要信他；因為沒有一國一邦的神能救自己的民脫離我手和我列祖的手，何況你們的神更不能救你們脫離我的手。』」

suǒ yǐ nǐ men bú yào jiào xī xī jiā zhè yàng qī hǒng yòu huò nǐ men ， yě bú yào xìn tā ； yīn wèi méi yǒu yì guó yì bāng de shén néng jiù zì jǐ de mín tuō lí wǒ shǒu hé wǒ liè zǔ de shǒu ， hé kuàng nǐ men de shén gèng bù néng jiù nǐ men tuō lí wǒ de shǒu 。』」

Now therefore don’t let Hezekiah deceive you nor persuade you in this way. Don’t believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand, and out of the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you out of my hand?”

西拿基立的臣僕還有別的話毀謗耶和華上帝和他僕人希西家。

xī ná jī lì de chén pú hái yǒu bié de huà huǐ bàng yē hé huá shén hé tā pú rén xī xī jiā 。

His servants spoke yet more against the LORD God and against his servant Hezekiah.

西拿基立也寫信毀謗耶和華－以色列的上帝說：「列邦的神既不能救他的民脫離我手，希西家的神也不能救他的民脫離我手了。」

xī ná jī lì yě xiě xìn huǐ bàng yē hé huá — yǐ sè liè de shén shuō ：「 liè bāng de shén jì bù néng jiù tā de mín tuō lí wǒ shǒu ， xī xī jiā de shén yě bù néng jiù tā de mín tuō lí wǒ shǒu le 。」

He also wrote letters insulting the LORD, the God of Israel, and speaking against him, saying, “As the gods of the nations of the lands, which have not delivered their people out of my hand, so shall the God of Hezekiah not deliver his people out of my hand.”

亞述王的臣僕用猶大言語向耶路撒冷城上的民大聲呼叫，要驚嚇他們，擾亂他們，以便取城。

yà shù wáng de chén pú yòng yóu dà yán yǔ xiàng yē lù sā lěng chéng shàng de mín dà shēng hū jiào ， yào jīng xià tā men ， rǎo luàn tā men ， yǐ biàn qǔ chéng 。

They called out with a loud voice in the Jews’ language to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to frighten them and to trouble them, that they might take the city.

他們論耶路撒冷的上帝，如同論世上人手所造的神一樣。

tā men lùn yē lù sā lěng de shén ， rú tóng lùn shì shàng rén shǒu suǒ zào de shén yí yàng 。

They spoke of the God of Jerusalem as of the gods of the peoples of the earth, which are the work of men’s hands.

希西家王和亞摩斯的兒子先知以賽亞因此禱告，向天呼求。

xī xī jiā wáng hé yà mó sī de ér zi xiān zhī yǐ sài yà yīn cǐ dǎo gào ， xiàng tiān hū qiú 。

Hezekiah the king and Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, prayed because of this, and cried to heaven.

耶和華就差遣一個使者進入亞述王營中，把所有大能的勇士和官長、將帥盡都滅了。亞述王滿面含羞地回到本國，進了他神的廟中，有他親生的兒子在那裏用刀殺了他。

yē hé huá jiù chāi qiǎn yí gè shǐ zhě jìn rù yà shù wáng yíng zhōng ， bǎ suǒ yǒu dà néng de yǒng shì hé guān zhǎng 、 jiàng shuài jìn dōu miè le 。 yà shù wáng mǎn miàn hán xiū dì huí dào běn guó ， jìn le tā shén de miào zhōng ， yǒu tā qīn shēng de ér zi zài nà lǐ yòng dāo shā le tā 。

The LORD sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty men of valor, the leaders, and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. When he had come into the house of his god, those who came out of his own body killed him there with the sword.

這樣，耶和華救希西家和耶路撒冷的居民脫離亞述王西拿基立的手，也脫離一切仇敵的手，又賜他們四境平安。

zhè yàng ， yē hé huá jiù xī xī jiā hé yē lù sā lěng de jū mín tuō lí yà shù wáng xī ná jī lì de shǒu ， yě tuō lí yí qiè chóu dí de shǒu ， yòu cì tā men sì jìng píng ān 。

Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria and from the hand of all others, and guided them on every side.

有許多人到耶路撒冷，將供物獻與耶和華，又將寶物送給猶大王希西家。此後，希西家在列邦人的眼中看為尊大。

yǒu xǔ duō rén dào yē lù sā lěng ， jiāng gòng wù xiàn yǔ yē hé huá ， yòu jiāng bǎo wù sòng gěi yóu dà wáng xī xī jiā 。 cǐ hòu ， xī xī jiā zài liè bāng rén de yǎn zhōng kàn wèi zūn dà 。

Many brought gifts to the LORD to Jerusalem, and precious things to Hezekiah king of Judah, so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations from then on.

那時希西家病得要死，就禱告耶和華，耶和華應允他，賜他一個兆頭。

nà shí xī xī jiā bìng dé yào sǐ ， jiù dǎo gào yē hé huá ， yē hé huá yīng yǔn tā ， cì tā yí gè zhào tou 。

In those days Hezekiah was terminally ill, and he prayed to the LORD; and he spoke to him, and gave him a sign.

希西家卻沒有照他所蒙的恩報答耶和華；因他心裏驕傲，所以忿怒要臨到他和猶大並耶路撒冷。

xī xī jiā què méi yǒu zhào tā suǒ méng de ēn bào dá yē hé huá ； yīn tā xīn lǐ jiāo ào ， suǒ yǐ fèn nù yào lín dào tā hé yóu dà bìng yē lù sā lěng 。

But Hezekiah didn’t reciprocate appropriate to the benefit done for him, because his heart was lifted up. Therefore there was wrath on him, Judah, and Jerusalem.

但希西家和耶路撒冷的居民覺得心裏驕傲，就一同自卑，以致耶和華的忿怒在希西家的日子沒有臨到他們。

dàn xī xī jiā hé yē lù sā lěng de jū mín jué de xīn lǐ jiāo ào ， jiù yì tóng zì bēi ， yǐ zhì yē hé huá de fèn nù zài xī xī jiā de rì zi méi yǒu lín dào tā men 。

However, Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the LORD’s wrath didn’t come on them in the days of Hezekiah.

希西家大有尊榮資財，建造府庫，收藏金銀、寶石、香料、盾牌，和各樣的寶器，

xī xī jiā dà yǒu zūn róng zī cái ， jiàn zào fǔ kù ， shōu cáng jīn yín 、 bǎo shí 、 xiāng liào 、 dùn pái ， hé gè yàng de bǎo qì ，

Hezekiah had exceedingly great riches and honor. He provided himself with treasuries for silver, for gold, for precious stones, for spices, for shields, and for all kinds of valuable vessels;

又建造倉房，收藏五穀、新酒，和油，又為各類牲畜蓋棚立圈；

yòu jiàn zào cāng fáng ， shōu cáng wǔ gǔ 、 xīn jiǔ ， hé yóu ， yòu wèi gè lèi shēng chù gài péng lì quān ；

also storehouses for the increase of grain, new wine, and oil; and stalls for all kinds of animals, and flocks in folds.

並且建立城邑，還有許多的羊群牛群，因為上帝賜他極多的財產。

bìng qiě jiàn lì chéng yì ， hái yǒu xǔ duō de yáng qún niú qún ， yīn wèi shén cì tā jí duō de cái chǎn 。

Moreover he provided for himself cities, and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance; for God had given him abundant possessions.

這希西家也塞住基訓的上源，引水直下，流在大衛城的西邊。希西家所行的事盡都亨通。

zhè xī xī jiā yě sāi zhù jī xùn de shàng yuán ， yǐn shuǐ zhí xià ， liú zài dà wèi chéng de xī biān 。 xī xī jiā suǒ xíng de shì jìn dōu hēng tōng 。

This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper spring of the waters of Gihon, and brought them straight down on the west side of David’s city. Hezekiah prospered in all his works.

惟有一件事，就是巴比倫王差遣使者來見希西家，訪問國中所現的奇事；這件事上帝離開他，要試驗他，好知道他心內如何。

wéi yǒu yí jiàn shì ， jiù shì bā bǐ lún wáng chāi qiǎn shǐ zhě lái jiàn xī xī jiā ， fǎng wèn guó zhōng suǒ xiàn de qí shì ； zhè jiàn shì shén lí kāi tā ， yào shì yàn tā ， hǎo zhī dào tā xīn nèi rú hé 。

However, concerning the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him to test him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

希西家其餘的事和他的善行都寫在亞摩斯的兒子先知以賽亞的默示書上和猶大、以色列的諸王記上。

xī xī jiā qí yú de shì hé tā de shàn xíng dōu xiě zài yà mó sī de ér zǐ xiān zhī yǐ sài yà de mò shì shū shàng hé yóu dà 、 yǐ sè liè de zhū wáng jì shàng 。

Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah and his good deeds, behold, they are written in the vision of Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.

希西家與他列祖同睡，葬在大衛子孫的高陵上。他死的時候，猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民都尊敬他。他兒子瑪拿西接續他作王。

xī xī jiā yǔ tā liè zǔ tóng shuì ， zàng zài dà wèi zǐ sūn de gāo líng shàng 。 tā sǐ de shí hòu ， yóu dà rén hé yē lù sā lěng de jū mín dōu zūn jìng tā 。 tā ér zi mǎ ná xī jiē xù tā zuò wáng 。

Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the ascent to the tombs of the sons of David. All Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem honored him at his death. Manasseh his son reigned in his place.
