以色列王約哈斯的兒子約阿施第二年，猶大王約阿施的兒子亞瑪謝登基。

yǐ sè liè wáng yuē hā sī de ér zi yuē ā shī dì èr nián ， yóu dà wáng yuē ā shī de ér zi yà mǎ xiè dēng jī 。

In the second year of Joash, son of Joahaz, king of Israel, Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah began to reign.

他登基的時候年二十五歲，在耶路撒冷作王二十九年。他母親名叫約耶但，是耶路撒冷人。

tā dēng jī de shí hòu nián èr shí wǔ suì ， zài yē lù sā lěng zuò wáng èr shí jiǔ nián 。 tā mǔ qīn míng jiào yuē yē dàn ， shì yē lù sā lěng rén 。

He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jehoaddin of Jerusalem.

亞瑪謝行耶和華眼中看為正的事，但不如他祖大衛，乃效法他父約阿施一切所行的；

yà mǎ xiè xíng yē hé huá yǎn zhōng kàn wèi zhèng de shì ， dàn bù rú tā zǔ dà wèi ， nǎi xiào fǎ tā fù yuē ā shī yí qiè suǒ xíng de ；

He did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes, yet not like David his father. He did according to all that Joash his father had done.

只是邱壇還沒有廢去，百姓仍在那裏獻祭燒香。

zhǐ shì qiū tán hái méi yǒu fèi qù ， bǎi xìng réng zài nà lǐ xiàn jì shāo xiāng 。

However the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places.

國一堅定，就把殺他父王的臣僕殺了，

guó yì jiān dìng ， jiù bǎ shā tā fù wáng de chén pú shā le ，

As soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, he killed his servants who had slain the king his father,

卻沒有治死殺王之人的兒子，是照摩西律法書上耶和華所吩咐的說：「不可因子殺父，也不可因父殺子，各人要為本身的罪而死。」

què méi yǒu zhì sǐ shā wáng zhī rén de ér zǐ ， shì zhào mó xī lǜ fǎ shū shàng yē hé huá suǒ fēn fù de shuō ：「 bù kě yīn zǐ shā fù ， yě bù kě yīn fù shā zǐ ， gè rén yào wèi běn shēn de zuì ér sǐ 。」

but the children of the murderers he didn’t put to death, according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, as the LORD commanded, saying, “The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.”

亞瑪謝在鹽谷殺了以東人一萬，又攻取了西拉，改名叫約帖，直到今日。

yà mǎ xiè zài yán gǔ shā le yǐ dōng rén yí wàn ， yòu gōng qǔ le xī lā ， gǎi míng jiào yuē tiē ， zhí dào jīn rì 。

He killed ten thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt, and took Sela by war, and called its name Joktheel, to this day.

那時，亞瑪謝差遣使者去見耶戶的孫子約哈斯的兒子以色列王約阿施，說：「你來，我們二人相見於戰場。」

nà shí ， yà mǎ xiè chāi qiǎn shǐ zhě qù jiàn yē hù de sūn zi yuē hā sī de ér zi yǐ sè liè wáng yuē ā shī ， shuō ：「 nǐ lái ， wǒ men èr rén xiāng jiàn yú zhàn chǎng 。」

Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, “Come, let’s look one another in the face.”

以色列王約阿施差遣使者去見猶大王亞瑪謝，說：「黎巴嫩的蒺藜差遣使者去見黎巴嫩的香柏樹，說：將你的女兒給我兒子為妻。後來黎巴嫩有一個野獸經過，把蒺藜踐踏了。

yǐ sè liè wáng yuē ā shī chāi qiǎn shǐ zhě qù jiàn yóu dà wáng yà mǎ xiè ， shuō ：「 lí bā nèn de jí lí chà qiǎn shǐ zhě qù jiàn lí bā nèn de xiāng bǎi shù ， shuō ： jiāng nǐ de nǚ ér gěi wǒ ér zǐ wèi qī 。 hòu lái lí bā nèn yǒu yì zhī yě shòu jīng guò ， bǎ jí lí jiàn tà le 。

Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, “The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son as wife.’ Then a wild animal that was in Lebanon passed by, and trampled down the thistle.

你打敗了以東人就心高氣傲，你以此為榮耀，在家裏安居就罷了，為何要惹禍，使自己和猶大國一同敗亡呢？」

nǐ dǎ bài le yǐ dōng rén jiù xīn gāo qì ào ， nǐ yǐ cǐ wèi róng yào ， zài jiā lǐ ān jū jiù bà le ， wèi hé yào rě huò ， shǐ zì jǐ hé yóu dà guó yì tóng bài wáng ne ？」

You have indeed struck Edom, and your heart has lifted you up. Enjoy the glory of it, and stay at home; for why should you meddle to your harm, that you fall, even you, and Judah with you?”

亞瑪謝卻不肯聽這話。於是以色列王約阿施上來，在猶大的伯‧示麥與猶大王亞瑪謝相見於戰場。

yà mǎ xiè què bù kěn tīng zhè huà 。 yú shì yǐ sè liè wáng yuē ā shī shàng lái ， zài yóu dà de bó · shì mài yǔ yóu dà wáng yà mǎ xiè xiāng jiàn yú zhàn chǎng 。

But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth Shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

猶大人敗在以色列人面前，各自逃回家裏去了。

yóu dà rén bài zài yǐ sè liè rén miàn qián ， gè zì táo huí jiā lǐ qù le 。

Judah was defeated by Israel; and each man fled to his tent.

以色列王約阿施在伯‧示麥擒住亞哈謝的孫子、約阿施的兒子猶大王亞瑪謝，就來到耶路撒冷，拆毀耶路撒冷的城牆，從以法蓮門直到角門共四百肘，

yǐ sè liè wáng yuē ā shī zài bó · shì mài qín zhù yà hā xiè de sūn zi 、 yuē ā shī de ér zi yóu dà wáng yà mǎ xiè ， jiù lái dào yē lù sā lěng ， chāi huǐ yē lù sā lěng de chéng qiáng ， cóng yǐ fǎ lián mén zhí dào jiǎo mén gòng sì bǎi zhǒu ，

Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Beth Shemesh and came to Jerusalem, then broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

又將耶和華殿裏與王宮府庫裏所有的金銀和器皿都拿了去，並帶人去為質，就回撒馬利亞去了。

yòu jiāng yē hé huá diàn lǐ yǔ wáng gōng fǔ kù lǐ suǒ yǒu de jīn yín hé qì mǐn dōu ná le qù ， bìng dài rén qù wèi zhì ， jiù huí sā mǎ lì yà qù le 。

He took all the gold and silver and all the vessels that were found in the LORD’s house and in the treasures of the king’s house, the hostages also, and returned to Samaria.

約阿施其餘所行的事和他的勇力，並與猶大王亞瑪謝爭戰的事，都寫在以色列諸王記上。

yuē ā shī qí yú suǒ xíng de shì hé tā de yǒng lì ， bìng yǔ yóu dà wáng yà mǎ xiè zhēng zhàn de shì ， dōu xiě zài yǐ sè liè zhū wáng jì shàng 。

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

約阿施與他列祖同睡，葬在撒馬利亞，以色列諸王的墳地裏。他兒子耶羅波安接續他作王。

yuē ā shī yǔ tā liè zǔ tóng shuì ， zàng zài sā mǎ lì yà ， yǐ sè liè zhū wáng de fén dì lǐ 。 tā ér zi yē luó bō ān jiē xù tā zuò wáng 。

Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his place.

以色列王約哈斯的兒子約阿施死後，猶大王約阿施的兒子亞瑪謝又活了十五年。

yǐ sè liè wáng yuē hā sī de ér zǐ yuē ā shī sǐ hòu ， yóu dà wáng yuē ā shī de ér zi yà mǎ xiè yòu huó le shí wǔ nián 。

Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz, king of Israel, fifteen years.

亞瑪謝其餘的事都寫在猶大列王記上。

yà mǎ xiè qí yú de shì dōu xiě zài yóu dà liè wáng jì shàng 。

Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

耶路撒冷有人背叛亞瑪謝，他就逃到拉吉；叛黨卻打發人到拉吉將他殺了。

yē lù sā lěng yǒu rén bèi pàn yà mǎ xiè ， tā jiù táo dào lā jí ； pàn dǎng què dǎ fā rén dào lā jí jiāng tā shā le 。

They made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish and killed him there.

人就用馬將他的屍首馱到耶路撒冷，葬在大衛城他列祖的墳地裏。

rén jiù yòng mǎ jiāng tā de shī shǒu tuó dào yē lù sā lěng ， zàng zài dà wèi chéng tā liè zǔ de fén dì lǐ 。

They brought him on horses, and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in David’s city.

猶大眾民立亞瑪謝的兒子亞撒利雅 接續他父作王，那時他年十六歲。

yóu dà zhòng mín lì yà mǎ xiè de ér zi yà sā lì yǎ jiē xù tā fù zuò wáng ， nà shí tā nián shí liù suì 。

All the people of Judah took Azariah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the place of his father Amaziah.

亞瑪謝與他列祖同睡之後，亞撒利雅收回以拉他仍歸猶大，又重新修理。

yà mǎ xiè yǔ tā liè zǔ tóng shuì zhī hòu ， yà sā lì yǎ shōu huí yǐ lā tā réng guī yóu dà ， yòu chóng xīn xiū lǐ 。

He built Elath and restored it to Judah. After that the king slept with his fathers.

猶大王約阿施的兒子亞瑪謝十五年，以色列王約阿施的兒子耶羅波安在撒馬利亞登基，作王四十一年。

yóu dà wáng yuē ā shī de ér zi yà mǎ xiè shí wǔ nián ， yǐ sè liè wáng yuē ā shī de ér zi yē luó bō ān zài sā mǎ lì yà dēng jī ， zuò wáng sì shí yī nián 。

In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah, Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria for forty-one years.

他行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，不離開尼八的兒子耶羅波安使以色列人陷在罪裏的一切罪。

tā xíng yē hé huá yǎn zhōng kàn wèi è de shì ， bù lí kāi ní bā de ér zi yē luó bō ān shǐ yǐ sè liè rén xiàn zài zuì lǐ de yí qiè zuì 。

He did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight. He didn’t depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

他收回以色列邊界之地，從哈馬口直到亞拉巴海，正如耶和華－以色列的上帝藉他僕人迦特希弗人亞米太的兒子先知約拿所說的。

tā shōu huí yǐ sè liè biān jiè zhī dì ， cóng hā mǎ kǒu zhí dào yà lā bā hǎi ， zhèng rú yē hé huá — yǐ sè liè de shén jiè tā pú rén jiā tè xī fú rén yà mǐ tài de ér zi xiān zhī yuē ná suǒ shuō de 。

He restored the border of Israel from the entrance of Hamath to the sea of the Arabah, according to the LORD, the God of Israel’s word, which he spoke by his servant Jonah the son of Amittai, the prophet, who was from Gath Hepher.

因為耶和華看見以色列人甚是艱苦，無論困住的、自由的都沒有了，也無人幫助以色列人。

yīn wèi yē hé huá kàn jiàn yǐ sè liè rén shèn shì jiān kǔ ， wú lùn kùn zhù de 、 zì yóu de dōu méi yǒu le ， yě wú rén bāng zhù yǐ sè liè rén 。

For the LORD saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter for all, slave and free; and there was no helper for Israel.

耶和華並沒有說要將以色列的名從天下塗抹，乃藉約阿施的兒子耶羅波安拯救他們。

yē hé huá bìng méi yǒu shuō yào jiāng yǐ sè liè de míng cóng tiān xià tú mǒ ， nǎi jiè yuē ā shī de ér zi yē luó bō ān zhěng jiù tā men 。

The LORD didn’t say that he would blot out the name of Israel from under the sky; but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.

耶羅波安其餘的事，凡他所行的和他的勇力，他怎樣爭戰，怎樣收回大馬士革和先前屬猶大的哈馬歸以色列，都寫在以色列諸王記上。

yē luó bō ān qí yú de shì ， fán tā suǒ xíng de hé tā de yǒng lì ， tā zěn yàng zhēng zhàn ， zěn yàng shōu huí dà mǎ shì gé hé xiān qián shǔ yóu dà de hā mǎ guī yǐ sè liè ， dōu xiě zài yǐ sè liè zhū wáng jì shàng 。

Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might, how he fought, and how he recovered Damascus, and Hamath, which had belonged to Judah, for Israel, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

耶羅波安與他列祖以色列諸王同睡。他兒子撒迦利雅接續他作王。

yē luó bō ān yǔ tā liè zǔ yǐ sè liè zhū wáng tóng shuì 。 tā ér zi sā jiā lì yǎ jiē xù tā zuò wáng 。

Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zechariah his son reigned in his place.
