約伯記 11

拿瑪人瑣法回答說：

ná mǎ rén suǒ fǎ huí dá shuō ：

Then Zophar, the Naamathite, answered,

這許多的言語豈不該回答嗎？ 多嘴多舌的人豈可稱為義嗎？

zhè xǔ duō de yán yǔ qǐ bù gāi huí dá ma ？ duō zuǐ duō shé de rén qǐ kě chēng wéi yì ma ？

“Shouldn’t the multitude of words be answered? Should a man full of talk be justified?

你誇大的話豈能使人不作聲嗎？ 你戲笑的時候豈沒有人叫你害羞嗎？

nǐ kuā dà de huà qǐ néng shǐ rén bú zuò shēng ma ？ nǐ xì xiào de shí hòu qǐ méi yǒu rén jiào nǐ hài xiū ma ？

Should your boastings make men hold their peace? When you mock, will no man make you ashamed?

你說：我的道理純全； 我在你眼前潔淨。

nǐ shuō ： wǒ de dào lǐ chún quán ； wǒ zài nǐ yǎn qián jié jìng 。

For you say, ‘My doctrine is pure. I am clean in your eyes.’

惟願上帝說話； 願他開口攻擊你，

wéi yuàn shén shuō huà ； yuàn tā kāi kǒu gōng jī nǐ ，

But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against you,

並將智慧的奧祕指示你； 他有諸般的智識。 所以當知道上帝追討你 比你罪孽該得的還少。

bìng jiāng zhì huì de ào mì zhǐ shì nǐ ； tā yǒu zhū bān de zhì shí 。 suǒ yǐ dāng zhī dào shén zhuī tǎo nǐ bǐ nǐ zuì niè gāi dé de hái shǎo 。

that he would show you the secrets of wisdom! For true wisdom has two sides. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.

你考察就能測透上帝嗎？ 你豈能盡情測透全能者嗎？

nǐ kǎo chá jiù néng cè tòu shén ma ？ nǐ qǐ néng jìn qíng cè tòu quán néng zhě ma ？

“Can you fathom the mystery of God? Or can you probe the limits of the Almighty?

他的智慧高於天，你還能做甚麼？ 深於陰間，你還能知道甚麼？

tā de zhì huì gāo yú tiān ， nǐ hái néng zuò shén me ？ shēn yú yīn jiān ， nǐ hái néng zhī dào shén me ？

They are high as heaven. What can you do? They are deeper than Sheol. What can you know?

其量比地長， 比海寬。

qí liáng bǐ dì cháng ， bǐ hǎi kuān 。

Its measure is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

他若經過，將人拘禁， 招人受審，誰能阻擋他呢？

tā ruò jīng guò ， jiāng rén jū jìn ， zhāo rén shòu shěn ， shuí néng zǔ dǎng tā ne ？

If he passes by, or confines, or convenes a court, then who can oppose him?

他本知道虛妄的人； 人的罪孽，他雖不留意，還是無所不見。

tā běn zhī dào xū wàng de rén ； rén de zuì niè ， tā suī bù liú yì ， hái shì wú suǒ bú jiàn 。

For he knows false men. He sees iniquity also, even though he doesn’t consider it.

空虛的人卻毫無知識； 人生在世好像野驢的駒子。

kōng xū de rén què háo wú zhī shi ； rén shēng zài shì hǎo xiàng yě lǘ de jū zǐ 。

An empty-headed man becomes wise when a man is born as a wild donkey’s colt.

你若將心安正， 又向主舉手；

nǐ ruò jiāng xīn ān zhèng ， yòu xiàng zhǔ jǔ shǒu ；

“If you set your heart aright, stretch out your hands toward him.

你手裏若有罪孽， 就當遠遠地除掉， 也不容非義住在你帳棚之中。

nǐ shǒu lǐ ruò yǒu zuì niè ， jiù dāng yuǎn yuǎn dì chú diào ， yě bù róng fēi yì zhù zài nǐ zhàng péng zhī zhōng 。

If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away. Don’t let unrighteousness dwell in your tents.

那時，你必仰起臉來毫無斑點； 你也必堅固，無所懼怕。

nà shí ， nǐ bì yǎng qǐ liǎn lái háo wú bān diǎn ； nǐ yě bì jiān gù ， wú suǒ jù pà 。

Surely then you will lift up your face without spot. Yes, you will be steadfast, and will not fear,

你必忘記你的苦楚， 就是想起也如流過去的水一樣。

nǐ bì wàng jì nǐ de kǔ chǔ ， jiù shì xiǎng qǐ yě rú liú guò qù de shuǐ yí yàng 。

for you will forget your misery. You will remember it like waters that have passed away.

你在世的日子要比正午更明， 雖有黑暗仍像早晨。

nǐ zài shì de rì zi yào bǐ zhèng wǔ gèng míng ， suī yǒu hēi àn réng xiàng zǎo chén 。

Life will be clearer than the noonday. Though there is darkness, it will be as the morning.

你因有指望就必穩固， 也必四圍巡查，坦然安息。

nǐ yīn yǒu zhǐ wàng jiù bì wěn gù ， yě bì sì wéi xún chá ， tǎn rán ān xī 。

You will be secure, because there is hope. Yes, you will search, and will take your rest in safety.

你躺臥，無人驚嚇， 且有許多人向你求恩。

nǐ tǎng wò ， wú rén jīng xià ， qiě yǒu xǔ duō rén xiàng nǐ qiú ēn 。

Also you will lie down, and no one will make you afraid. Yes, many will court your favor.

但惡人的眼目必要失明。 他們無路可逃； 他們的指望就是氣絕。

dàn è rén de yǎn mù bì yào shī míng 。 tā men wú lù kě táo ； tā men de zhǐ wàng jiù shì qì jué 。

But the eyes of the wicked will fail. They will have no way to flee. Their hope will be the giving up of the spirit.”
