約翰福音 19:31

猶太人因這日是預備日，又因那安息日是個大日，就求彼拉多叫人打斷他們的腿，把他們拿去，免得屍首當安息日留在十字架上。

yóu tài rén yīn zhè rì shì yù bèi rì ， yòu yīn nà ān xī rì shì gè dà rì ， jiù qiú bǐ lā duō jiào rén dǎ duàn tā men de tuǐ ， bǎ tā men ná qù ， miǎn de shī shǒu dāng ān xī rì liú zài shí zì jià shàng 。

Therefore the Jews, because it was the Preparation Day, so that the bodies wouldn’t remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a special one), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away.
