1 Thessalonians 3

我们既不能再忍，就愿意独自等在雅典，

wǒ men jì bù néng zài rěn ， jiù yuàn yì dú zì děng zài yǎ diǎn ，

Therefore when we couldn’t stand it any longer, we thought it good to be left behind at Athens alone,

打发我们的兄弟在基督福音上作 神执事的 提摩太前去，坚固你们，并在你们所信的道上劝慰你们，

dǎ fā wǒ men de xiōng dì zài jī dū fú yīn shàng zuò shén zhí shì de tí mó tài qián qù ， jiān gù nǐ men ， bìng zài nǐ men suǒ xìn de dào shàng quàn wèi nǐ men ，

and sent Timothy, our brother and God’s servant in the Good News of Christ, to establish you and to comfort you concerning your faith,

免得有人被诸般患难摇动。因为你们自己知道，我们受患难原是命定的。

miǎn de yǒu rén bèi zhū bān huàn nàn yáo dòng 。 yīn wèi nǐ men zì jǐ zhī dào ， wǒ men shòu huàn nàn yuán shì mìng dìng de 。

that no one would be moved by these afflictions. For you know that we are appointed to this task.

我们在你们那里的时候，预先告诉你们，我们必受患难，以后果然应验了，你们也知道。

wǒ men zài nǐ men nà lǐ de shí hòu ， yù xiān gào sù nǐ men ， wǒ men bì shòu huàn nàn ， yǐ hòu guǒ rán yìng yàn le ， nǐ men yě zhī dào 。

For most certainly, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we are to suffer affliction, even as it happened, and you know.

为此，我既不能再忍，就打发人去，要晓得你们的信心如何，恐怕那诱惑人的到底诱惑了你们，叫我们的劳苦归于徒然。

wèi cǐ ， wǒ jì bù néng zài rěn ， jiù dǎ fā rén qù ， yào xiǎo de nǐ men de xìn xīn rú hé ， kǒng pà nà yòu huò rén de dào dǐ yòu huò le nǐ men ， jiào wǒ men de láo kǔ guī yú tú rán 。

For this cause I also, when I couldn’t stand it any longer, sent that I might know your faith, for fear that by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor would have been in vain.

但提摩太刚才从你们那里回来，将你们信心和爱心的好消息报给我们，又说你们常常记念我们，切切地想见我们，如同我们想见你们一样。

dàn tí mó tài gāng cái cóng nǐ men nà lǐ huí lái ， jiāng nǐ men xìn xīn hé ài xīn de hǎo xiāo xī bào gěi wǒ men ， yòu shuō nǐ men cháng cháng jì niàn wǒ men ， qiè qiè dì xiǎng jiàn wǒ men ， rú tóng wǒ men xiǎng jiàn nǐ men yí yàng 。

But Timothy has just now come to us from you, and brought us glad news of your faith and love, and that you have good memories of us always, longing to see us, even as we also long to see you.

所以，弟兄们，我们在一切困苦患难之中，因着你们的信心就得了安慰。

suǒ yǐ ， dì xiong men ， wǒ men zài yí qiè kùn kǔ huàn nàn zhī zhōng ， yīn zhe nǐ men de xìn xīn jiù dé le ān wèi 。

For this cause, brothers, we were comforted over you in all our distress and affliction through your faith.

你们若靠主站立得稳，我们就活了。

nǐ men ruò kào zhǔ zhàn lì dé wěn ， wǒ men jiù huó le 。

For now we live, if you stand fast in the Lord.

我们在 神面前，因着你们甚是喜乐；为这一切喜乐，可用何等的感谢为你们报答 神呢？

wǒ men zài shén miàn qián ， yīn zhe nǐ men shèn shì xǐ lè ； wèi zhè yí qiè xǐ lè ， kě yòng hé děng de gǎn xiè wèi nǐ men bào dá shén ne ？

For what thanksgiving can we give again to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sakes before our God,

我们昼夜切切地祈求，要见你们的面，补满你们信心的不足。

wǒ men zhòu yè qiè qiè dì qí qiú ， yào jiàn nǐ men de miàn ， bǔ mǎn nǐ men xìn xīn de bù zú 。

night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face and may perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

愿 神—我们的父和我们的主耶稣一直引领我们到你们那里去。

yuàn shén — wǒ men de fù hé wǒ men de zhǔ yē sū yì zhí yǐn lǐng wǒ men dào nǐ men nà lǐ qù 。

Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you.

又愿主叫你们彼此相爱的心，并爱众人的心都能增长，充足，如同我们爱你们一样，

yòu yuàn zhǔ jiào nǐ men bǐ cǐ xiāng ài de xīn ， bìng ài zhòng rén de xīn dōu néng zēng zhǎng ， chōng zú ， rú tóng wǒ men ài nǐ men yí yàng ，

May the Lord make you to increase and abound in love toward one another and toward all men, even as we also do toward you,

好使你们当我们主耶稣同他众圣徒来的时候，在我们父 神面前，心里坚固，成为圣洁，无可责备。

hǎo shǐ nǐ men dāng wǒ men zhǔ yē sū tóng tā zhòng shèng tú lái de shí hòu ， zài wǒ men fù shén miàn qián ， xīn lǐ jiān gù ， chéng wéi shèng jié ， wú kě zé bèi 。

to the end he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.
