Jeremiah 38

玛坦的儿子示法提雅、巴施户珥的儿子基大利、示利米雅的儿子犹甲、玛基雅的儿子巴施户珥听见耶利米对众人所说的话，说：

mǎ tǎn de ér zǐ shì fǎ tí yǎ 、 bā shī hù ěr de ér zi jī dà lì 、 shì lì mǐ yǎ de ér zi yóu jiǎ 、 mǎ jī yǎ de ér zi bā shī hù ěr tīng jiàn yē lì mǐ duì zhòng rén suǒ shuō de huà ， shuō ：

Shephatiah the son of Mattan, Gedaliah the son of Pashhur, Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur the son of Malchijah heard the words that Jeremiah spoke to all the people, saying,

「耶和华如此说：住在这城里的必遭刀剑、饥荒、瘟疫而死；但出去归降迦勒底人的必得存活，就是以自己命为掠物的，必得存活。

「 yē hé huá rú cǐ shuō ： zhù zài zhè chéng lǐ de bì zāo dāo jiàn 、 jī huāng 、 wēn yì ér sǐ ； dàn chū qù guī xiáng jiā lè dǐ rén de bì dé cún huó ， jiù shì yǐ zì jǐ mìng wèi lüè wù de ， bì dé cún huó 。

“The LORD says, ‘He who remains in this city will die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, but he who goes out to the Chaldeans will live. He will escape with his life and he will live.’

耶和华如此说：这城必要交在巴比伦王军队的手中，他必攻取这城。」

yē hé huá rú cǐ shuō ： zhè chéng bì yào jiāo zài bā bǐ lún wáng jūn duì de shǒu zhōng ， tā bì gōng qǔ zhè chéng 。」

The LORD says, ‘This city will surely be given into the hand of the army of the king of Babylon, and he will take it.’”

于是首领对王说：「求你将这人治死；因他向城里剩下的兵丁和众民说这样的话，使他们的手发软。这人不是求这百姓得平安，乃是叫他们受灾祸。」

yú shì shǒu lǐng duì wáng shuō ：「 qiú nǐ jiāng zhè rén zhì sǐ ； yīn tā xiàng chéng lǐ shèng xià de bīng dīng hé zhòng mín shuō zhè yàng de huà ， shǐ tā men de shǒu fā ruǎn 。 zhè rén bú shì qiú zhè bǎi xìng dé píng ān ， nǎi shì jiào tā men shòu zāi huò 。」

Then the princes said to the king, “Please let this man be put to death, because he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words to them; for this man doesn’t seek the welfare of this people, but harm.”

西底家王说：「他在你们手中，无论何事，王也不能与你们反对。」

xī dǐ jiā wáng shuō ：「 tā zài nǐ men shǒu zhōng ， wú lùn hé shì ， wáng yě bù néng yǔ nǐ men fǎn duì 。」

Zedekiah the king said, “Behold, he is in your hand; for the king can’t do anything to oppose you.”

他们就拿住耶利米，下在哈米勒的儿子 玛基雅的牢狱里；那牢狱在护卫兵的院中。他们用绳子将耶利米系下去。牢狱里没有水，只有淤泥，耶利米就陷在淤泥中。

tā men jiù ná zhù yē lì mǐ ， xià zài hā mǐ lè de ér zi mǎ jī yǎ de láo yù lǐ ； nà láo yù zài hù wèi bīng de yuàn zhōng 。 tā men yòng shéng zi jiāng yē lì mǐ xì xià qù 。 láo yù lǐ méi yǒu shuǐ ， zhǐ yǒu yū ní ， yē lì mǐ jiù xiàn zài yū ní zhōng 。

Then they took Jeremiah and threw him into the dungeon of Malchijah the king’s son, that was in the court of the guard. They let down Jeremiah with cords. In the dungeon there was no water, but mire; and Jeremiah sank in the mire.

在王宫的太监古实人以伯·米勒，听见他们将耶利米下了牢狱（那时王坐在便雅悯门口），

zài wáng gōng de tài jian gǔ shí rén yǐ bó · mǐ lè ， tīng jiàn tā men jiāng yē lì mǐ xià le láo yù （ nà shí wáng zuò zài biàn yǎ mǐn mén kǒu ），

Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, a eunuch, who was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon (the king was then sitting in Benjamin’s gate),

以伯·米勒就从王宫里出来，对王说：

yǐ bó · mǐ lè jiù cóng wáng gōng lǐ chū lái ， duì wáng shuō ：

Ebedmelech went out of the king’s house, and spoke to the king, saying,

「主—我的王啊，这些人向先知耶利米一味地行恶，将他下在牢狱中；他在那里必因饥饿而死，因为城中再没有粮食。」

「 zhǔ — wǒ de wáng a ， zhè xiē rén xiàng xiān zhī yē lì mǐ yí wèi dì xíng è ， jiāng tā xià zài láo yù zhōng ； tā zài nà lǐ bì yīn jī è ér sǐ ， yīn wèi chéng zhōng zài méi yǒu liáng shí 。」

“My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon. He is likely to die in the place where he is, because of the famine; for there is no more bread in the city.”

王就吩咐古实人以伯·米勒说：「你从这里带领三十人，趁着先知耶利米未死以前，将他从牢狱中提上来。」

wáng jiù fēn fù gǔ shí rén yǐ bó · mǐ lè shuō ：「 nǐ cóng zhè lǐ dài lǐng sān shí rén ， chèn zhe xiān zhī yē lì mǐ wèi sǐ yǐ qián ， jiāng tā cóng láo yù zhōng tí shàng lái 。」

Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, “Take from here thirty men with you, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he dies.”

于是以伯·米勒带领这些人同去，进入王宫，到库房以下，从那里取了些碎布和破烂的衣服，用绳子缒下牢狱去到耶利米那里。

yú shì yǐ bó · mǐ lè dài lǐng zhè xiē rén tóng qù ， jìn rù wáng gōng ， dào kù fáng yǐ xià ， cóng nà lǐ qǔ le xiē suì bù hé pò làn de yī fu ， yòng shéng zi zhuì xià láo yù qù dào yē lì mǐ nà lǐ 。

So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took from there rags and worn-out garments, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.

古实人以伯·米勒对耶利米说：「你用这些碎布和破烂的衣服放在绳子上，垫你的胳肢窝。」耶利米就照样行了。

gǔ shí rén yǐ bó · mǐ lè duì yē lì mǐ shuō ：「 nǐ yòng zhè xiē suì bù hé pò làn de yī fu fàng zài shéng zi shàng ， diàn nǐ de gē zhī wō 。」 yē lì mǐ jiù zhào yàng xíng le 。

Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, “Now put these rags and worn-out garments under your armpits under the cords.” Jeremiah did so.

这样，他们用绳子将耶利米从牢狱里拉上来。耶利米仍在护卫兵的院中。

zhè yàng ， tā men yòng shéng zǐ jiāng yē lì mǐ cóng láo yù lǐ lā shàng lái 。 yē lì mǐ réng zài hù wèi bīng de yuàn zhōng 。

So they lifted Jeremiah up with the cords, and took him up out of the dungeon; and Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.

西底家王打发人带领先知耶利米，进耶和华殿中第三门里见王。王就对耶利米说：「我要问你一件事，你丝毫不可向我隐瞒。」

xī dǐ jiā wáng dǎ fā rén dài lǐng xiān zhī yē lì mǐ ， jìn yē hé huá diàn zhōng dì sān mén lǐ jiàn wáng 。 wáng jiù duì yē lì mǐ shuō ：「 wǒ yào wèn nǐ yí jiàn shì ， nǐ sī háo bù kě xiàng wǒ yǐn mán 。」

Then Zedekiah the king sent and took Jeremiah the prophet to himself into the third entry that is in the LORD’s house. Then the king said to Jeremiah, “I will ask you something. Hide nothing from me.”

耶利米对西底家说：「我若告诉你，你岂不定要杀我吗？我若劝戒你，你必不听从我。」

yē lì mǐ duì xī dǐ jiā shuō ：「 wǒ ruò gào sù nǐ ， nǐ qǐ bú dìng yào shā wǒ ma ？ wǒ ruò quàn jiè nǐ ， nǐ bì bù tīng cóng wǒ 。」

Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, “If I declare it to you, will you not surely put me to death? If I give you counsel, you will not listen to me.”

西底家王就私下向耶利米说：「我指着那造我们生命之永生的耶和华起誓：我必不杀你，也不将你交在寻索你命的人手中。」

xī dǐ jiā wáng jiù sī xià xiàng yē lì mǐ shuō ：「 wǒ zhǐ zhe nà zào wǒ men shēng mìng zhī yǒng shēng de yē hé huá qǐ shì ： wǒ bì bù shā nǐ ， yě bù jiāng nǐ jiāo zài xún suǒ nǐ mìng de rén shǒu zhōng 。」

So Zedekiah the king swore secretly to Jeremiah, saying, “As the LORD lives, who made our souls, I will not put you to death, neither will I give you into the hand of these men who seek your life.”

耶利米对西底家说：「耶和华—万军之 神、以色列的 神如此说：你若出去归降巴比伦王的首领，你的命就必存活，这城也不致被火焚烧，你和你的全家都必存活。

yē lì mǐ duì xī dǐ jiā shuō ：「 yē hé huá — wàn jūn zhī shén 、 yǐ sè liè de shén rú cǐ shuō ： nǐ ruò chū qù guī xiáng bā bǐ lún wáng de shǒu lǐng ， nǐ de mìng jiù bì cún huó ， zhè chéng yě bú zhì bèi huǒ fén shāo ， nǐ hé nǐ de quán jiā dōu bì cún huó 。

Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, “The LORD, the God of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘If you will go out to the king of Babylon’s princes, then your soul will live, and this city will not be burned with fire. You will live, along with your house.

你若不出去归降巴比伦王的首领，这城必交在迦勒底人手中。他们必用火焚烧，你也不得脱离他们的手。」

nǐ ruò bù chū qù guī xiáng bā bǐ lún wáng de shǒu lǐng ， zhè chéng bì jiāo zài jiā lè dǐ rén shǒu zhōng 。 tā men bì yòng huǒ fén shāo ， nǐ yě bù dé tuō lí tā men de shǒu 。」

But if you will not go out to the king of Babylon’s princes, then this city will be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they will burn it with fire, and you won’t escape out of their hand.’”

西底家王对耶利米说：「我怕那些投降迦勒底人的犹大人，恐怕迦勒底人将我交在他们手中，他们戏弄我。」

xī dǐ jiā wáng duì yē lì mǐ shuō ：「 wǒ pà nà xiē tóu xiáng jiā lè dǐ rén de yóu dà rén ， kǒng pà jiā lè dǐ rén jiāng wǒ jiāo zài tā men shǒu zhōng ， tā men xì nòng wǒ 。」

Zedekiah the king said to Jeremiah, “I am afraid of the Jews who have defected to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.”

耶利米说：「迦勒底人必不将你交出。求你听从我对你所说耶和华的话，这样你必得好处，你的命也必存活。

yē lì mǐ shuō ：「 jiā lè dǐ rén bì bù jiāng nǐ jiāo chū 。 qiú nǐ tīng cóng wǒ duì nǐ suǒ shuō yē hé huá de huà ， zhè yàng nǐ bì dé hǎo chù ， nǐ de mìng yě bì cún huó 。

But Jeremiah said, “They won’t deliver you. Obey, I beg you, the LORD’s voice, in that which I speak to you; so it will be well with you, and your soul will live.

你若不肯出去，耶和华指示我的话乃是这样：

nǐ ruò bù kěn chū qù ， yē hé huá zhǐ shì wǒ de huà nǎi shì zhè yàng ：

But if you refuse to go out, this is the word that the LORD has shown me:

犹大王宫里所剩的妇女必都带到巴比伦王的首领那里。这些妇女必说： 你知己的朋友催逼你， 胜过你； 见你的脚陷入淤泥中， 就转身退后了。

yóu dà wáng gōng lǐ suǒ shèng de fù nǚ bì dōu dài dào bā bǐ lún wáng de shǒu lǐng nà lǐ 。 zhè xiē fù nǚ bì shuō ： nǐ zhī jǐ de péng yǒu cuī bī nǐ ， shèng guò nǐ ； jiàn nǐ de jiǎo xiàn rù yū ní zhōng ， jiù zhuǎn shēn tuì hòu le 。

‘Behold, all the women who are left in the king of Judah’s house will be brought out to the king of Babylon’s princes, and those women will say, “Your familiar friends have turned on you, and have prevailed over you. Your feet are sunk in the mire, they have turned away from you.”

「人必将你的后妃和你的儿女带到迦勒底人那里；你也不得脱离他们的手，必被巴比伦王的手捉住；你也必使这城被火焚烧。」

「 rén bì jiāng nǐ de hòu fēi hé nǐ de ér nǚ dài dào jiā lè dǐ rén nà lǐ ； nǐ yě bù dé tuō lí tā men de shǒu ， bì bèi bā bǐ lún wáng de shǒu zhuō zhù ； nǐ yě bì shǐ zhè chéng bèi huǒ fén shāo 。」

They will bring out all your wives and your children to the Chaldeans. You won’t escape out of their hand, but will be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon. You will cause this city to be burned with fire.’”

西底家对耶利米说：「不要使人知道这些话，你就不至于死。

xī dǐ jiā duì yē lì mǐ shuō ：「 bú yào shǐ rén zhī dào zhè xiē huà ， nǐ jiù bú zhì yú sǐ 。

Then Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, “Let no man know of these words, and you won’t die.

首领若听见了我与你说话，就来见你，问你说：『你对王说什么话不要向我们隐瞒，我们就不杀你。王向你说什么话也要告诉我们。』

shǒu lǐng ruò tīng jiàn le wǒ yǔ nǐ shuō huà ， jiù lái jiàn nǐ ， wèn nǐ shuō ：『 nǐ duì wáng shuō shén me huà bú yào xiàng wǒ men yǐn mán ， wǒ men jiù bù shā nǐ 。 wáng xiàng nǐ shuō shén me huà yě yào gào sù wǒ men 。』

But if the princes hear that I have talked with you, and they come to you, and tell you, ‘Declare to us now what you have said to the king; don’t hide it from us, and we will not put you to death; also tell us what the king said to you;’

你就对他们说：『我在王面前恳求不要叫我回到约拿单的房屋死在那里。』」

nǐ jiù duì tā men shuō ：『 wǒ zài wáng miàn qián kěn qiú bú yào jiào wǒ huí dào yuē ná dān de fáng wū sǐ zài nà lǐ 。』」

then you shall tell them, ‘I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan’s house, to die there.’”

随后众首领来见耶利米，问他，他就照王所吩咐的一切话回答他们。他们不再与他说话，因为事情没有泄漏。

suí hòu zhòng shǒu lǐng lái jiàn yē lì mǐ ， wèn tā ， tā jiù zhào wáng suǒ fēn fù de yí qiè huà huí dá tā men 。 tā men bú zài yǔ tā shuō huà ， yīn wèi shì qíng méi yǒu xiè lòu 。

Then all the princes came to Jeremiah, and asked him; and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they stopped speaking with him, for the matter was not perceived.

于是耶利米仍在护卫兵的院中，直到耶路撒冷被攻取的日子。

yú shì yē lì mǐ réng zài hù wèi bīng de yuàn zhōng ， zhí dào yē lù sā lěng bèi gōng qǔ de rì zi 。

So Jeremiah stayed in the court of the guard until the day that Jerusalem was taken.
