Job 5
nǐ qiě hū qiú , yǒu shuí dā ying nǐ ? zhū shèng zhě zhī zhōng , nǐ zhuǎn xiàng nǎ yí wèi ne ?
“Call now; is there any who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?
fèn nù hài sǐ yú wàng rén ; jí dù shā sǐ chī mí rén 。
For resentment kills the foolish man, and jealousy kills the simple.
wǒ céng jiàn yú wàng rén zhā xià gēn , dàn wǒ hū rán zhòu zǔ tā de zhù chù 。
I have seen the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
tā de ér nǚ yuǎn lí wěn tuǒ de dì bù , zài chéng mén kǒu bèi yā , bìng wú rén dā jiù 。
His children are far from safety. They are crushed in the gate. Neither is there any to deliver them,
tā de zhuāng jia yǒu jī è de rén chī jìn le , jiù shì zài jīng jí lǐ de yě qiǎng qù le ; tā de cái bǎo yǒu wǎng luó zhāng kǒu tūn miè le 。
whose harvest the hungry eat up, and take it even out of the thorns. The snare gapes for their substance.
huò huàn yuán bú shì cóng tǔ zhōng chū lái ; huàn nàn yě bú shì cóng dì lǐ fā shēng 。
For affliction doesn’t come out of the dust, neither does trouble spring out of the ground;
rén shēng zài shì bì yù huàn nàn , rú tóng huǒ xīng fēi téng 。
but man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
zhì yú wǒ , wǒ bì yǎng wàng shén , bǎ wǒ de shì qíng tuō fù tā 。
“But as for me, I would seek God. I would commit my cause to God,
tā xíng dà shì bù kě cè dù , xíng qí shì bù kě shèng shǔ :
who does great things that can’t be fathomed, marvelous things without number;
降雨在地上, 赐水于田里;
jiàng yǔ zài dì shàng , cì shuǐ yú tián lǐ ;
who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields;
将卑微的安置在高处, 将哀痛的举到稳妥之地;
jiāng bēi wēi de ān zhì zài gāo chù , jiāng āi tòng de jǔ dào wěn tuǒ zhī dì ;
so that he sets up on high those who are low, those who mourn are exalted to safety.
pò huài jiǎo huá rén de jì móu , shǐ tā men suǒ móu de bù dé chéng jiù 。
He frustrates the plans of the crafty, so that their hands can’t perform their enterprise.
tā jiào yǒu zhì huì de zhōng le zì jǐ de guǐ jì , shǐ jiǎo zhà rén de jì móu sù sù miè wáng 。
He takes the wise in their own craftiness; the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.
tā men bái zhòu yù jiàn hēi àn , wǔ jiān mō suǒ rú zài yè jiān 。
They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope at noonday as in the night.
shén zhěng jiù qióng fá rén tuō lí tā men kǒu zhōng de dāo hé qiáng bào rén de shǒu 。
But he saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty.
zhè yàng , pín hán de rén yǒu zhǐ wàng , zuì niè zhī bèi bì sāi kǒu wú yán 。
So the poor has hope, and injustice shuts her mouth.
shén suǒ chéng zhì de rén shì yǒu fú de ! suǒ yǐ nǐ bù kě qīng kàn quán néng zhě de guǎn jiào 。
“Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
yīn wèi tā dǎ pò , yòu chán guǒ ; tā jī shāng , yòng shǒu yī zhì 。
For he wounds and binds up. He injures and his hands make whole.
nǐ liù cì zāo nán , tā bì jiù nǐ ; jiù shì qī cì , zāi huò yě wú fǎ hài nǐ 。
He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil will touch you.
zài jī huāng zhōng , tā bì jiù nǐ tuō lí sǐ wáng ; zài zhēng zhàn zhōng , tā bì jiù nǐ tuō lí dāo jiàn de quán lì 。
In famine he will redeem you from death; in war, from the power of the sword.
nǐ bì bèi yǐn cáng , bú shòu kǒu shé zhī hài ; zāi yāng lín dào , nǐ yě bú jù pà 。
You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, neither will you be afraid of destruction when it comes.
nǐ yù jiàn zāi hài jī jǐn , jiù bì xī xiào ; dì shàng de yě shòu , nǐ yě bú jù pà 。
You will laugh at destruction and famine, neither will you be afraid of the animals of the earth.
yīn wèi nǐ bì yǔ tián jiān de shí tou lì yuē ; tián lǐ de yě shòu yě bì yǔ nǐ hé hǎo 。
For you will be allied with the stones of the field. The animals of the field will be at peace with you.
你必知道你帐棚平安, 要查看你的羊圈,一无所失;
nǐ bì zhī dào nǐ zhàng péng píng ān , yào chá kàn nǐ de yáng juàn , yì wú suǒ shī ;
You will know that your tent is in peace. You will visit your fold, and will miss nothing.
yě bì zhī dào nǐ de hòu yì jiāng lái fā dá , nǐ de zǐ sūn xiàng dì shàng de qīng cǎo 。
You will know also that your offspring will be great, your offspring as the grass of the earth.
nǐ bì shòu gāo nián mài cái guī fén mù , hǎo xiàng hé kǔn dào shí shōu cáng 。
You will come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.
zhè lǐ , wǒ men yǐ jīng kǎo chá , běn shì rú cǐ 。 nǐ xū yào tīng , yào zhī dào shì yǔ zì jǐ yǒu yì 。
Behold, we have researched it. It is so. Hear it, and know it for your good.”
