zhì huì fù rén jiàn lì jiā shì ; yú wàng fù rén qīn shǒu chāi huǐ 。

Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.

xíng dòng zhèng zhí de , jìng wèi yē hé huá ; xíng shì guāi pì de , què miǎo shì tā 。

He who walks in his uprightness fears the LORD, but he who is perverse in his ways despises him.

yú wàng rén kǒu zhōng jiāo ào , rú zhàng zé dǎ jǐ shēn ; zhì huì rén de zuǐ bì bǎo shǒu zì jǐ 。

The fool’s talk brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them.

jiā lǐ wú niú , cáo tóu gān jìng ; tǔ chǎn jiā duō nǎi píng niú lì 。

Where no oxen are, the crib is clean, but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

chéng shí jiàn zhèng rén bù shuō huǎng huà ; jiǎ jiàn zhèng rén tǔ chū huǎng yán 。

A truthful witness will not lie, but a false witness pours out lies.

xiè màn rén xún zhì huì , què xún bù zhe ; cōng ming rén yì dé zhī shi 。

A scoffer seeks wisdom, and doesn’t find it, but knowledge comes easily to a discerning person.

dào yú mèi rén miàn qián , bú jiàn tā zuǐ zhōng yǒu zhī shi 。

Stay away from a foolish man, for you won’t find knowledge on his lips.

tōng dá rén de zhì huì zài hū míng bái jǐ dào ; yú mèi rén de yú wàng nǎi shì guǐ zhà 。

The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.

yú wàng rén fàn zuì , yǐ wéi xì shuǎ ; zhèng zhí rén hù xiāng xǐ yuè 。

Fools mock at making atonement for sins, but among the upright there is good will.

xīn zhōng de kǔ chǔ , zì jǐ zhī dào ; xīn lǐ de xǐ lè , wài rén wú gān 。

The heart knows its own bitterness and joy; he will not share these with a stranger.

jiān è rén de fáng wū bì qīng dǎo ; zhèng zhí rén de zhàng péng bì xīng shèng 。

The house of the wicked will be overthrown, but the tent of the upright will flourish.

yǒu yì tiáo lù , rén yǐ wéi zhèng , zhì zhōng chéng wéi sǐ wáng zhī lù 。

There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.

rén zài xǐ xiào zhōng , xīn yě yōu chóu ; kuài lè zhì jí jiù shēng chóu kǔ 。

Even in laughter the heart may be sorrowful, and mirth may end in heaviness.

xīn zhōng bèi dào de , bì mǎn dé zì jǐ de jié guǒ ; shàn rén bì cóng zì jǐ de xíng wéi dé yǐ zhī zú 。

The unfaithful will be repaid for his own ways; likewise a good man will be rewarded for his ways.

yú méng rén shì huà dōu xìn ; tōng dá rén bù bù jǐn shèn 。

A simple man believes everything, but the prudent man carefully considers his ways.

zhì huì rén jù pà , jiù yuǎn lí è shì ; yú wàng rén què kuáng ào zì shì 。

A wise man fears and shuns evil, but the fool is hot headed and reckless.

qīng yì fā nù de , xíng shì yú wàng ; shè lì guǐ jì de , bèi rén hèn è 。

He who is quick to become angry will commit folly, and a crafty man is hated.

yú méng rén dé yú mèi wèi chǎn yè ; tōng dá rén dé zhī shi wèi guān miǎn 。

The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

huài rén fǔ fú zài shàn rén miàn qián ; è rén fǔ fú zài yì rén mén kǒu 。

The evil bow down before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

pín qióng rén lián lín shè yě hèn tā ; fù zú rén péng yǒu zuì duō 。

The poor person is shunned even by his own neighbor, but the rich person has many friends.

miǎo shì lín shè de , zhè rén yǒu zuì ; lián mǐn pín qióng de , zhè rén yǒu fú 。

He who despises his neighbor sins, but he who has pity on the poor is blessed.

móu è de , qǐ fēi zǒu rù mí tú ma ? móu shàn de , bì dé cí ài hé chéng shí 。

Don’t they go astray who plot evil? But love and faithfulness belong to those who plan good.

zhū bān qín láo dōu yǒu yì chù ; zuǐ shàng duō yán nǎi zhì qióng fá 。

In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty.

zhì huì rén de cái wèi zì jǐ de guān miǎn ; yú wàng rén de yú mèi zhōng shì yú mèi 。

The crown of the wise is their riches, but the folly of fools crowns them with folly.

zuò zhēn jiàn zhèng de , jiù rén xìng mìng ; tǔ chū huǎng yán de , shī xíng guǐ zhà 。

A truthful witness saves souls, but a false witness is deceitful.

jìng wèi yē hé huá de , dà yǒu yǐ kào ; tā de ér nǚ yě yǒu bì nàn suǒ 。

In the fear of the LORD is a secure fortress, and he will be a refuge for his children.

使

jìng wèi yē hé huá jiù shì shēng mìng de quán yuán , kě yǐ shǐ rén lí kāi sǐ wáng de wǎng luó 。

The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning people from the snares of death.

耀

dì wáng róng yào zài hū mín duō ; jūn wáng shuāi bài zài hū mín shǎo 。

In the multitude of people is the king’s glory, but in the lack of people is the destruction of the prince.

bù qīng yì fā nù de , dà yǒu cōng ming ; xìng qíng bào zào de , dà xiǎn yú wàng 。

He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a quick temper displays folly.

xīn zhōng ān jìng shì ròu tǐ de shēng mìng ; jí dù shì gǔ zhōng de xiǔ làn 。

The life of the body is a heart at peace, but envy rots the bones.

qī yā pín hán de , shì rǔ mò zào tā de zhǔ ; lián mǐn qióng fá de , nǎi shì zūn jìng zhǔ 。

He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.

è rén zài suǒ xíng de è shàng bì bèi tuī dǎo ; yì rén lín sǐ , yǒu suǒ tóu kào 。

The wicked is brought down in his calamity, but in death, the righteous has a refuge.

zhì huì cún zài cōng ming rén xīn zhōng ; yú mèi rén xīn lǐ suǒ cún de , xiǎn ér yì jiàn 。

Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding, and is even made known in the inward part of fools.

使

gōng yì shǐ bāng guó gāo jǔ ; zuì è shì rén mín de xiū rǔ 。

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.

zhì huì de chén zǐ méng wáng ēn huì ; yí xiū de pú rén zāo qí zhèn nù 。

The king’s favor is toward a servant who deals wisely, but his wrath is toward one who causes shame.
