Psalms 78

known 0/432

wǒ de mín nǎ , nǐ men yào liú xīn tīng wǒ de xùn huì , cè ěr tīng wǒ kǒu zhōng de huà 。

Hear my teaching, my people. Turn your ears to the words of my mouth.

wǒ yào kāi kǒu shuō bǐ yù ; wǒ yào shuō chū gǔ shí de mí yǔ ,

I will open my mouth in a parable. I will utter dark sayings of old,

shì wǒ men suǒ tīng jiàn 、 suǒ zhī dào de , yě shì wǒ men de zǔ zōng gào sù wǒ men de 。

which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.

wǒ men bù jiāng zhè xiē shì xiàng tā men de zǐ sūn yǐn mán , yào jiāng yē hé huá de měi dé hé tā de néng lì , bìng tā qí miào de zuò wéi , shù shuō gěi hòu dài tīng 。

We will not hide them from their children, telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, his strength, and his wondrous deeds that he has done.

yīn wèi , tā zài yǎ gè zhōng lì fǎ dù , zài yǐ sè liè zhōng shè lǜ fǎ ; shì tā fēn fù wǒ men zǔ zōng yào chuán gěi zǐ sūn de ,

For he established a covenant in Jacob, and appointed a teaching in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children;

使

shǐ jiāng yào shēng de hòu dài zǐ sūn kě yǐ xiǎo de ; tā men yě yào qǐ lái gào sù tā men de zǐ sūn ,

that the generation to come might know, even the children who should be born; who should arise and tell their children,

hǎo jiào tā men yǎng wàng shén , bú wàng jì shén de zuò wéi , wéi yào shǒu tā de mìng lìng 。

that they might set their hope in God, and not forget God’s deeds, but keep his commandments,

bú yào xiàng tā men de zǔ zōng , shì wán gěng bèi nì 、 jū xīn bú zhèng zhī bèi , xiàng zhe shén , xīn bù chéng shí 。

and might not be as their fathers— a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that didn’t make their hearts loyal, whose spirit was not steadfast with God.

退

yǐ fǎ lián de zǐ sūn dài zhe bīng qì , ná zhe gōng , lín zhèn zhī rì zhuǎn shēn tuì hòu 。

The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.

tā men bù zūn shǒu shén de yuē , bù kěn zhào tā de lǜ fǎ xíng ;

They didn’t keep God’s covenant, and refused to walk in his law.

yòu wàng jì tā suǒ xíng de hé tā xiǎn gěi tā men qí miào de zuò wéi 。

They forgot his doings, his wondrous deeds that he had shown them.

tā zài āi jí dì , zài suǒ ān tián , zài tā men zǔ zōng de yǎn qián shī xíng qí shì 。

He did marvelous things in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

使

tā jiāng hǎi fēn liè , shǐ tā men guò qù , yòu jiào shuǐ lì qǐ rú lěi 。

He split the sea, and caused them to pass through. He made the waters stand as a heap.

tā bái rì yòng yún cǎi , zhōng yè yòng huǒ guāng yǐn dǎo tā men 。

In the daytime he also led them with a cloud, and all night with a light of fire.

tā zài kuàng yě fēn liè pán shí , duō duō dì gěi tā men shuǐ hē , rú cóng shēn yuān ér chū 。

He split rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink abundantly as out of the depths.

使

tā shǐ shuǐ cóng pán shí yǒng chū , jiào shuǐ rú jiāng hé xià liú 。

He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.

tā men què réng jiù dé zuì tā , zài gān zào zhī dì bèi nì zhì gāo zhě 。

Yet they still went on to sin against him, to rebel against the Most High in the desert.

tā men xīn zhōng shì tàn shén , suí zì jǐ suǒ yù de qiú shí wù ,

They tempted God in their heart by asking food according to their desire.

bìng qiě wàng lùn shén shuō : shén zài kuàng yě qǐ néng bǎi shè yán xí ma ?

Yes, they spoke against God. They said, “Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?

使

tā céng jī dǎ pán shí , shǐ shuǐ yǒng chū , chéng le jiāng hé ; tā hái néng cì liáng shí ma ? hái néng wèi tā de bǎi xìng yù bèi ròu ma ?

Behold, he struck the rock, so that waters gushed out, and streams overflowed. Can he give bread also? Will he provide meat for his people?”

suǒ yǐ , yē hé huá tīng jiàn jiù fā nù ; yǒu liè huǒ xiàng yǎ gè shāo qǐ ; yǒu nù qì xiàng yǐ sè liè shàng téng ;

Therefore the LORD heard, and was angry. A fire was kindled against Jacob, anger also went up against Israel,

yīn wèi tā men bú xìn fú shén , bù yǐ lài tā de jiù ēn 。

because they didn’t believe in God, and didn’t trust in his salvation.

tā què fēn fù tiān kōng , yòu chǎng kāi tiān shàng de mén ,

Yet he commanded the skies above, and opened the doors of heaven.

jiàng ma nǎ , xiàng yǔ gěi tā men chī , jiāng tiān shàng de liáng shí cì gěi tā men 。

He rained down manna on them to eat, and gave them food from the sky.

使

gè rén chī dà néng zhě de shí wù ; tā cì xià liáng shí , shǐ tā men bǎo zú 。

Man ate the bread of angels. He sent them food to the full.

tā lǐng dōng fēng qǐ zài tiān kōng , yòu yòng néng lì yǐn le nán fēng lái 。

He caused the east wind to blow in the sky. By his power he guided the south wind.

tā jiàng ròu , xiàng yǔ zài tā men dāng zhōng , duō rú chén tǔ , yòu jiàng fēi niǎo , duō rú hǎi shā ,

He also rained meat on them as the dust, winged birds as the sand of the seas.

luò zài tā men de yíng zhōng , zài tā men zhù chù de sì miàn 。

He let them fall in the middle of their camp, around their habitations.

tā men chī le , ér qiě bǎo zú ; zhè yàng jiù suí le tā men suǒ yù de 。

So they ate, and were well filled. He gave them their own desire.

tā men tān ér wú yàn , shí wù hái zài tā men kǒu zhōng de shí hòu ,

They didn’t turn from their cravings. Their food was yet in their mouths,

shén de nù qì jiù xiàng tā men shàng téng , shā le tā men nèi zhōng de féi zhuàng rén , dǎ dǎo yǐ sè liè de shào nián rén 。

when the anger of God went up against them, killed some of their strongest, and struck down the young men of Israel.

suī shì zhè yàng , tā men réng jiù fàn zuì , bú xìn tā qí miào de zuò wéi 。

For all this they still sinned, and didn’t believe in his wondrous works.

yīn cǐ , tā jiào tā men de rì zi quán guī xū kōng , jiào tā men de nián suì jìn shǔ jīng kǒng 。

Therefore he consumed their days in vanity, and their years in terror.

tā shā tā men de shí hòu , tā men cái qiú wèn tā , huí xīn zhuǎn yì , qiè qiè dì xún qiú shén 。

When he killed them, then they inquired after him. They returned and sought God earnestly.

tā men yě zhuī niàn shén shì tā men de pán shí , zhì gāo de shén shì tā men de jiù shú zhǔ 。

They remembered that God was their rock, the Most High God, their redeemer.

tā men què yòng kǒu chǎn mèi tā , yòng shé xiàng tā shuō huǎng 。

But they flattered him with their mouth, and lied to him with their tongue.

yīn tā men de xīn xiàng tā bú zhèng , zài tā de yuē shàng yě bù zhōng xīn 。

For their heart was not right with him, neither were they faithful in his covenant.

忿

dàn tā yǒu lián mǐn , shè miǎn tā men de zuì niè , bú miè jué tā men , ér qiě lǚ cì xiāo tā de nù qì , bù fā jìn tā de fèn nù 。

But he, being merciful, forgave iniquity, and didn’t destroy them. Yes, many times he turned his anger away, and didn’t stir up all his wrath.

tā xiǎng dào tā men bú guò shì xuè qì , shì yí zhèn qù ér bù fǎn de fēng 。

He remembered that they were but flesh, a wind that passes away, and doesn’t come again.

tā men zài kuàng yě bèi nì tā , zài huāng dì jiào tā dān yōu , hé qí duō ne !

How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness, and grieved him in the desert!

tā men zài sān shì tàn shén , rě dòng yǐ sè liè de shèng zhě 。

They turned again and tempted God, and provoked the Holy One of Israel.

tā men bù zhuī niàn tā de néng lì hé shú tā men tuō lí dí rén de rì zi ;

They didn’t remember his hand, nor the day when he redeemed them from the adversary;

tā zěn yàng zài āi jí dì xiǎn shén jì , zài suǒ ān tián xiǎn qí shì ,

how he set his signs in Egypt, his wonders in the field of Zoan,

使

bǎ tā men de jiāng hé bìng hé chà de shuǐ dōu biàn wèi xuè , shǐ tā men bù néng hē 。

he turned their rivers into blood, and their streams, so that they could not drink.

tā jiào cāng yíng chéng qún luò zài tā men dāng zhōng , zuō jìn tā men , yòu jiào qīng wā miè le tā men ,

He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.

bǎ tā men de tǔ chǎn jiāo gěi mà zha , bǎ tā men xīn kǔ dé lái de jiāo gěi huáng chóng 。

He also gave their increase to the caterpillar, and their labor to the locust.

tā jiàng bīng báo dǎ huài tā men de pú táo shù , xià yán shuāng dǎ huài tā men de sāng shù ,

He destroyed their vines with hail, their sycamore fig trees with frost.

yòu bǎ tā men de shēng chù jiāo gěi bīng báo , bǎ tā men de qún chù jiāo gěi shǎn diàn 。

He also gave over their livestock to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.

使忿 使

tā shǐ měng liè de nù qì hé fèn nù 、 nǎo hèn 、 kǔ nàn chéng le yì qún jiàng zāi de shǐ zhě , lín dào tā men 。

He threw on them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, indignation, and trouble, and a band of angels of evil.

使

tā wèi zì jǐ de nù qì xiū píng le lù , jiāng tā men jiāo gěi wēn yì , shǐ tā men sǐ wáng ,

He made a path for his anger. He didn’t spare their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence,

zài āi jí jī shā yí qiè zhǎng zǐ , zài hán de zhàng péng zhōng jī shā tā men qiáng zhuàng shí tóu shēng de 。

and struck all the firstborn in Egypt, the chief of their strength in the tents of Ham.

tā què lǐng chū zì jǐ de mín rú yáng , zài kuàng yě yǐn tā men rú yáng qún 。

But he led out his own people like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.

使

tā lǐng tā men wěn wěn tuǒ tuǒ dì , shǐ tā men bú zhì hài pà ; hǎi què yān mò tā men de chóu dí 。

He led them safely, so that they weren’t afraid, but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

tā dài tā men dào zì jǐ shèng dì de biān jiè , dào tā yòu shǒu suǒ dé de zhè shān dì 。

He brought them to the border of his sanctuary, to this mountain, which his right hand had taken.

tā zài tā men miàn qián gǎn chū wài bāng rén , yòng shéng zi jiāng wài bāng de dì liáng gěi tā men wèi yè , jiào yǐ sè liè zhī pài de rén zhù zài tā men de zhàng péng lǐ 。

He also drove out the nations before them, allotted them for an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.

tā men réng jiù shì tàn 、 bèi nì zhì gāo de shén , bù shǒu tā de fǎ dù ,

Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God, and didn’t keep his testimonies,

退

fǎn dǎo tuì hòu , xíng guǐ zhà , xiàng tā men de zǔ zōng yí yàng ; tā men gǎi biàn , rú tóng fān bèi de gōng 。

but turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers. They were twisted like a deceitful bow.

yīn tā men de qiū tán rě le tā de nù qì ; yīn tā men diāo kè de ǒu xiàng chù dòng tā de fèn hèn 。

For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their engraved images.

shén tīng jiàn jiù fā nù , jí qí zēng wù yǐ sè liè rén 。

When God heard this, he was angry, and greatly abhorred Israel,

shèn zhì tā lí qì shì luó de zhàng mù , jiù shì tā zài rén jiān suǒ dā de zhàng péng ;

so that he abandoned the tent of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men,

耀

yòu jiāng tā de yuē guì jiāo yǔ rén lǔ qù , jiāng tā de róng yào jiāo zài dí rén shǒu zhōng ;

and delivered his strength into captivity, his glory into the adversary’s hand.

bìng jiāng tā de bǎi xìng jiāo yǔ dāo jiàn , xiàng tā de chǎn yè fā nù 。

He also gave his people over to the sword, and was angry with his inheritance.

shào nián rén bèi huǒ shāo miè ; chǔ nǚ yě wú xǐ gē 。

Fire devoured their young men. Their virgins had no wedding song.

jì sī dǎo zài dāo xià , guǎ fù què bù āi kū 。

Their priests fell by the sword, and their widows couldn’t weep.

nà shí , zhǔ xiàng shì rén shuì xǐng , xiàng yǒng shì yǐn jiǔ hū hǎn 。

Then the Lord awakened as one out of sleep, like a mighty man who shouts by reason of wine.

退

tā jiù dǎ tuì le tā de dí rén , jiào tā men yǒng méng xiū rǔ ;

He struck his adversaries backward. He put them to a perpetual reproach.

bìng qiě tā qì diào yuē sè de zhàng péng , bù jiǎn xuǎn yǐ fǎ lián zhī pài ,

Moreover he rejected the tent of Joseph, and didn’t choose the tribe of Ephraim,

què jiǎn xuǎn yóu dà zhī pài — tā suǒ xǐ ài de xī ān shān ;

But chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion which he loved.

gài zào tā de shèng suǒ , hǎo xiàng gāo fēng , yòu xiàng tā jiàn lì yǒng cún zhī dì ;

He built his sanctuary like the heights, like the earth which he has established forever.

yòu jiǎn xuǎn tā de pú rén dà wèi , cóng yáng juàn zhōng jiàng tā zhào lái ,

He also chose David his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds;

jiào tā bú zài gēn cóng nà xiē dài nǎi de mǔ yáng , wèi yào mù yǎng zì jǐ de bǎi xìng yǎ gè hé zì jǐ de chǎn yè yǐ sè liè 。

from following the ewes that have their young, he brought him to be the shepherd of Jacob, his people, and Israel, his inheritance.

yú shì , tā àn xīn zhōng de chún zhèng mù yǎng tā men , yòng shǒu zhōng de qiǎo miào yǐn dǎo tā men 。

So he was their shepherd according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.
