yà sā sān shí liù nián , yǐ sè liè wáng bā shā shàng lái gōng jī yóu dà , xiū zhù lā mǎ , bù xǔ rén cóng yóu dà wáng yà sā nà lǐ chū rù 。

In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s reign, Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

yú shì yà sā cóng yē hé huá diàn hé wáng gōng de fǔ kù lǐ ná chū jīn yín lái , sòng yǔ zhù dà mǎ shì gé de yà lán wáng biàn hǎ dá , shuō :

Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the LORD’s house and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben Hadad king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,

使。」

「 nǐ fù céng yǔ wǒ fù lì yuē , wǒ yǔ nǐ yě yào lì yuē 。 xiàn zài wǒ jiāng jīn yín sòng gěi nǐ , qiú nǐ fèi diào nǐ yǔ yǐ sè liè wáng bā shā suǒ lì de yuē , shǐ tā lí kāi wǒ 。」

“Let there be a treaty between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent you silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.”

biàn · hǎ dá tīng cóng yà sā wáng de huà , pài jūn zhǎng qù gōng jī yǐ sè liè de chéng yì 。 tā men jiù gōng pò yǐ yún 、 dàn 、 yà bó · mǎ yīn , hé ná fú tā lì yí qiè de jī huò chéng 。

Ben Hadad listened to King Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they struck Ijon, Dan, Abel Maim, and all the storage cities of Naphtali.

bā shā tīng jiàn jiù tíng gōng , bù xiū zhù lā mǎ le 。

When Baasha heard of it, he stopped building Ramah, and let his work cease.

yú shì yà sā wáng shuài lǐng yóu dà zhòng rén , jiāng bā shā xiū zhù lā mǎ suǒ yòng de shí tou 、 mù tou dōu yùn qù , yòng yǐ xiū zhù jiā bā hé mǐ sī bā 。

Then Asa the king took all Judah, and they carried away the stones and timber of Ramah, with which Baasha had built; and he built Geba and Mizpah with them.

nà shí , xiān jiàn hā ná ní lái jiàn yóu dà wáng yà sā , duì tā shuō :「 yīn nǐ yǎng lài yà lán wáng , méi yǒu yǎng lài yē hé huá — nǐ de shén , suǒ yǐ yà lán wáng de jūn bīng tuō lí le nǐ de shǒu 。

At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him, “Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on the LORD your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped out of your hand.

便

gǔ shí rén 、 lù bǐ rén de jūn duì bú shì shèn dà ma ? zhàn chē mǎ bīng bú shì jí duō ma ? zhī yīn nǐ yǎng lài yē hé huá , tā biàn jiāng tā men jiāo zài nǐ shǒu lǐ 。

Weren’t the Ethiopians and the Lubim a huge army, with chariots and exceedingly many horsemen? Yet, because you relied on the LORD, he delivered them into your hand.

。」

yē hé huá de yǎn mù biàn chá quán dì , yào xiǎn dà néng bāng zhù xiàng tā xīn cún chéng shí de rén 。 nǐ zhè shì xíng dé yú mèi ; cǐ hòu , nǐ bì yǒu zhēng zhàn de shì 。」

For the LORD’s eyes run back and forth throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. You have done foolishly in this; for from now on you will have wars.”

yà sā yīn cǐ nǎo hèn xiān jiàn , jiāng tā qiú zài jiān lǐ 。 nà shí yà sā yě nüè dài yì xiē rén mín 。

Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in the prison; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time.

yà sā suǒ xíng de shì , zì shǐ zhì zhōng dōu xiě zài yóu dà hé yǐ sè liè zhū wáng jì shàng 。

Behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.

yà sā zuò wáng sān shí jiǔ nián , tā jiǎo shàng yǒu bìng , ér qiě shèn zhòng 。 bìng de shí hòu méi yǒu qiú yē hé huá , zhī qiú yī shēng 。

In the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa was diseased in his feet. His disease was exceedingly great; yet in his disease he didn’t seek the LORD, but just the physicians.

tā zuò wáng sì shí yī nián ér sǐ , yǔ tā liè zǔ tóng shuì ,

Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the forty-first year of his reign.

zàng zài dà wèi chéng zì jǐ suǒ záo de fén mù lǐ , fàng zài chuáng shàng , qí chuáng duī mǎn gè yàng xīn xiāng de xiāng liào , jiù shì àn zuò xiāng de zuò fǎ tiáo hé de xiāng liào , yòu wèi tā shāo le xǔ duō de wù jiàn 。

They buried him in his own tomb, which he had dug out for himself in David’s city, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and various kinds of spices prepared by the perfumers’ art; and they made a very great fire for him.
