cǐ hòu , mó yā rén hé yà mén rén , yòu yǒu mǐ wū ní rén , yì tóng lái gōng jī yuē shā fǎ 。

After this, the children of Moab, the children of Ammon, and with them some of the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

:「 ··。」

yǒu rén lái bào gào yuē shā fǎ shuō :「 cóng hǎi wài yà lán nà biān yǒu dà jūn lái gōng jī nǐ , rú jīn tā men zài hā xǐ xùn · tā mǎ , jiù shì yǐn · jī dǐ 。」

Then some came who told Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea from Syria. Behold, they are in Hazazon Tamar” (that is, En Gedi).

便

yuē shā fǎ biàn jù pà , dìng yì xún qiú yē hé huá , zài yóu dà quán dì xuān gào jìn shí 。

Jehoshaphat was alarmed, and set himself to seek the LORD. He proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

yú shì yóu dà rén jù huì , qiú yē hé huá bāng zhù 。 yóu dà gè chéng dōu yǒu rén chū lái xún qiú yē hé huá 。

Judah gathered themselves together to seek help from the LORD. They came out of all the cities of Judah to seek the LORD.

yuē shā fǎ jiù zài yóu dà hé yē lù sā lěng de huì zhōng , zhàn zài yē hé huá diàn de xīn yuàn qián ,

Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the LORD’s house, before the new court;

:「

shuō :「 yē hé huá — wǒ men liè zǔ de shén a , nǐ bú shì tiān shàng de shén ma ? nǐ bú shì wàn bāng wàn guó de zhǔ zǎi ma ? zài nǐ shǒu zhōng yǒu dà néng dà lì , wú rén néng dǐ dǎng nǐ 。

and he said, “LORD, the God of our fathers, aren’t you God in heaven? Aren’t you ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in your hand, so that no one is able to withstand you.

wǒ men de shén a , nǐ bú shì céng zài nǐ mín yǐ sè liè rén miàn qián qū zhú zhè dì de jū mín , jiāng zhè dì cì gěi nǐ péng yǒu yà bó lā hǎn de hòu yì yǒng yuǎn wèi yè ma ?

Didn’t you, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it to the offspring of Abraham your friend forever?

tā men zhù zài zhè dì , yòu wèi nǐ de míng jiàn zào shèng suǒ , shuō :

They lived in it, and have built you a sanctuary in it for your name, saying,

殿殿。』

『 tǎng yǒu huò huàn lín dào wǒ men , huò dāo bīng zāi yāng , huò wēn yì jī huāng , wǒ men zài jí nán de shí hòu , zhàn zài zhè diàn qián xiàng nǐ hū qiú , nǐ bì chuí tīng ér zhěng jiù , yīn wèi nǐ de míng zài zhè diàn lǐ 。』

‘If evil comes on us—the sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this house, and before you (for your name is in this house), and cry to you in our affliction, and you will hear and save.’

cóng qián yǐ sè liè rén chū āi jí dì de shí hòu , nǐ bù róng yǐ sè liè rén qīn fàn yà mén rén 、 mó yā rén , hé xī ěr shān rén , yǐ sè liè rén jiù lí kāi tā men , bú miè jué tā men 。

Now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom you would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned away from them, and didn’t destroy them;

kàn nǎ , tā men zěn yàng bào fù wǒ men , yào lái qū zhú wǒ men chū lí nǐ de dì , jiù shì nǐ cì gěi wǒ men wèi yè zhī dì 。

behold, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of your possession, which you have given us to inherit.

。」

wǒ men de shén a , nǐ bù chéng fá tā men ma ? yīn wèi wǒ men wú lì dǐ dǎng zhè lái gōng jī wǒ men de dà jūn , wǒ men yě bù zhī dào zěn yàng xíng , wǒ men de yǎn mù dān yǎng wàng nǐ 。」

Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that comes against us. We don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

yóu dà zhòng rén hé tā men de yīng hái 、 qī zǐ 、 ér nǚ dōu zhàn zài yē hé huá miàn qián 。

All Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.

nà shí , yē hé huá de líng zài huì zhōng lín dào lì wèi rén yà sà de hòu yì — mǎ tàn yǎ de xuán sūn , yē lì de zēng sūn , bǐ ná yǎ de sūn zi , sā jiā lì yǎ de ér zi yǎ hā xī 。

Then the LORD’s Spirit came on Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, the Levite, of the sons of Asaph, in the middle of the assembly;

:「:『

tā shuō :「 yóu dà zhòng rén 、 yē lù sā lěng de jū mín , hé yuē shā fǎ wáng , nǐ men qǐng tīng 。 yē hé huá duì nǐ men rú cǐ shuō :『 bú yào yīn zhè dà jūn kǒng jù jīng huáng ; yīn wèi shèng bài bú zài hu nǐ men , nǎi zài hū shén 。

and he said, “Listen, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat. The LORD says to you, ‘Don’t be afraid, and don’t be dismayed because of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

míng rì nǐ men yào xià qù yíng dí , tā men shì cóng xǐ sī pō shàng lái , nǐ men bì zài yē lǔ yī lè kuàng yě qián de gǔ kǒu yù jiàn tā men 。

Tomorrow, go down against them. Behold, they are coming up by the ascent of Ziz. You will find them at the end of the valley, before the wilderness of Jeruel.

。』」

yóu dà hé yē lù sā lěng rén nǎ , zhè cì nǐ men bú yào zhēng zhàn , yào bǎi zhèn zhàn zhe , kàn yē hé huá wèi nǐ men shī xíng zhěng jiù 。 bú yào kǒng jù , yě bú yào jīng huáng 。 míng rì dāng chū qù yíng dí , yīn wèi yē hé huá yǔ nǐ men tóng zài 。』」

You will not need to fight this battle. Set yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed. Go out against them tomorrow, for the LORD is with you.’”

yuē shā fǎ jiù miàn fú yú dì , yóu dà zhòng rén hé yē lù sā lěng de jū mín yě fǔ fú zài yē hé huá miàn qián , kòu bài yē hé huá 。

Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the LORD, worshiping the LORD.

gē xiá zú hé kě lā zú de lì wèi rén dōu qǐ lái , yòng jí dà de shēng yīn zàn měi yē hé huá yǐ sè liè de shén 。

The Levites, of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites, stood up to praise the LORD, the God of Israel, with an exceedingly loud voice.

cì rì qīng zǎo , zhòng rén qǐ lái wǎng tí gē yà de kuàng yě qù 。 chū qù de shí hòu , yuē shā fǎ zhàn zhe shuō :「 yóu dà rén hé yē lù sā lěng de jū mín nǎ , yào tīng wǒ shuō : xìn yē hé huá — nǐ men de shén jiù bì lì wěn ; xìn tā de xiān zhī jiù bì hēng tōng 。」

They rose early in the morning and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. As they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the LORD your God, so you will be established! Believe his prophets, so you will prosper.”

yuē shā fǎ jì yǔ mín shāng yì le , jiù shè lì gē chàng de rén , sòng zàn yē hé huá , shǐ tā men chuān shàng shèng jié de lǐ fú , zǒu zài jūn qián zàn měi yē hé huá shuō :「 dāng chēng xiè yē hé huá , yīn tā de cí ài yǒng yuǎn cháng cún !」

When he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to the LORD and give praise in holy array as they go out before the army, and say, “Give thanks to the LORD, for his loving kindness endures forever.”

zhòng rén fāng chàng gē zàn měi de shí hòu , yē hé huá jiù pài fú bīng jī shā nà lái gōng jī yóu dà rén de yà mén rén 、 mó yā rén , hé xī ěr shān rén , tā men jiù bèi dǎ bài le 。

When they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushers against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were struck.

yīn wèi yà mén rén hé mó yā rén qǐ lái , jī shā zhù xī ěr shān de rén , jiāng tā men miè jìn ; miè jìn zhù xī ěr shān de rén zhī hòu , tā men yòu bǐ cǐ zì xiāng jī shā 。

For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. When they had finished the inhabitants of Seir, everyone helped to destroy each other.

yóu dà rén lái dào kuàng yě de wàng lóu , xiàng nà dà jūn guān kàn , jiàn shī héng biàn dì , méi yǒu yí gè táo tuō de 。

When Judah came to the place overlooking the wilderness, they looked at the multitude; and behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and there were none who escaped.

yuē shā fǎ hé tā de bǎi xìng jiù lái shōu qǔ dí rén de cái wù , zài shī shǒu zhōng jiàn le xǔ duō cái wù 、 zhēn bǎo , tā men bāo tuō xià lái de duō dé bù kě xié dài ; yīn wèi shèn duō , zhí shōu qǔ le sān rì 。

When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their plunder, they found among them in abundance both riches and dead bodies with precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away. They took plunder for three days, it was so much.

dì sì rì zhòng rén jù jí zài bǐ lā jiā gǔ , zài nà lǐ chēng sòng yē hé huá 。 yīn cǐ nà dì fāng míng jiào bǐ lā jiā gǔ , zhí dào jīn rì 。

On the fourth day, they assembled themselves in Beracah Valley, for there they blessed the LORD. Therefore the name of that place was called “Beracah Valley” to this day.

yóu dà rén hé yē lù sā lěng rén dōu huān huān xǐ xǐ dì huí yē lù sā lěng , yuē shā fǎ shuài lǐng tā men ; yīn wèi yē hé huá shǐ tā men zhàn shèng chóu dí , jiù huān xǐ kuài lè 。

Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, with Jehoshaphat in front of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies.

tā men tán qín 、 gǔ sè 、 chuī hào lái dào yē lù sā lěng , jìn le yē hé huá de diàn 。

They came to Jerusalem with stringed instruments, harps, and trumpets to the LORD’s house.

liè bāng zhū guó tīng jiàn yē hé huá zhàn bài yǐ sè liè de chóu dí , jiù shèn jù pà 。

The fear of God was on all the kingdoms of the countries when they heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.

zhè yàng , yuē shā fǎ de guó dé xiǎng tài píng , yīn wèi shén cì tā sì jìng píng ān 。

So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.

yuē shā fǎ zuò yóu dà wáng , dēng jī de shí hòu nián sān shí wǔ suì , zài yē lù sā lěng zuò wáng èr shí wǔ nián 。 tā mǔ qīn míng jiào ā sū bā , nǎi shì lì xī de nǚ ér 。

So Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah. He was thirty-five years old when he began to reign. He reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.

yuē shā fǎ xiào fǎ tā fù yà sā suǒ xíng de , bù piān zuǒ yòu , xíng yē hé huá yǎn zhōng kàn wèi zhèng de shì 。

He walked in the way of Asa his father, and didn’t turn away from it, doing that which was right in the LORD’s eyes.

zhǐ shì qiū tán hái méi yǒu fèi qù , bǎi xìng yě méi yǒu lì dìng xīn yì guī xiàng tā men liè zǔ de shén 。

However the high places were not taken away, and the people had still not set their hearts on the God of their fathers.

yuē shā fǎ qí yú de shì , zì shǐ zhì zhōng dōu xiě zài hā ná ní de ér zi yē hù de shū shàng , yě zǎi rù yǐ sè liè zhū wáng jì shàng 。

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Jehu the son of Hanani, which is included in the book of the kings of Israel.

cǐ hòu , yóu dà wáng yuē shā fǎ yǔ yǐ sè liè wáng yà hā xiè jiāo hǎo ; yà hā xiè xíng è tài shèn 。

After this, Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined himself with Ahaziah king of Israel. The same did very wickedly.

Then Eliezer the son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, “Because you have joined yourself with Ahaziah, the LORD has destroyed your works.” The ships were wrecked, so that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
