bǎo luó lái dào tè bì , yòu dào lù sī dé 。 zài nà lǐ yǒu yí gè mén tú , míng jiào tí mó tài , shì xìn zhǔ zhī yóu tài fù rén de ér zi , tā fù qīn què shì xī là rén 。

He came to Derbe and Lystra; and behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewess who believed, but his father was a Greek.

lù sī dé hé yǐ gē niàn de dì xiong dōu chēng zàn tā 。

The brothers who were at Lystra and Iconium gave a good testimony about him.

bǎo luó yào dài tā tóng qù , zhī yīn nà xiē dì fāng de yóu tài rén dōu zhī dào tā fù qīn shì xī là rén , jiù gěi tā xíng le gē lǐ 。

Paul wanted to have him go out with him, and he took and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those parts, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.

使

tā men jīng guò gè chéng , bǎ yē lù sā lěng shǐ tú hé zhǎng lǎo suǒ dìng de tiáo guī jiāo gěi mén tú zūn shǒu 。

As they went on their way through the cities, they delivered the decrees to them to keep which had been ordained by the apostles and elders who were at Jerusalem.

yú shì zhòng jiào huì xìn xīn yuè fā jiān gù , rén shù tiān tiān jiā zēng 。

So the assemblies were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily.

shèng líng jì rán jìn zhǐ tā men zài yà xì yà jiǎng dào , tā men jiù jīng guò fú lǚ jiā 、 jiā lā tài yí dài dì fāng 。

When they had gone through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia.

dào le měi xī yà de biān jiè , tā men xiǎng yào wǎng bì tuī ní qù , yē sū de líng què bù xǔ 。

When they had come opposite Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit didn’t allow them.

tā men jiù yuè guò měi xī yà , xià dào tè luó yà qù 。

Passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas.

zài yè jiān yǒu yì xiàng xiàn yǔ bǎo luó 。 yǒu yí gè mǎ qí dùn rén zhàn zhe qiú tā shuō :「 qǐng nǐ guò dào mǎ qí dùn lái bāng zhù wǒ men 。」

A vision appeared to Paul in the night. There was a man of Macedonia standing, begging him and saying, “Come over into Macedonia and help us.”

bǎo luó jì kàn jiàn zhè yì xiàng , wǒ men suí jí xiǎng yào wǎng mǎ qí dùn qù , yǐ wéi shén zhào wǒ men chuán fú yīn gěi nà lǐ de rén tīng 。

When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go out to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the Good News to them.

yú shì cóng tè luó yà kāi chuán , yì zhí xíng dào sā mó tè lā , dì èr tiān dào le ní yà pō lǐ 。

Setting sail therefore from Troas, we made a straight course to Samothrace, and the day following to Neapolis;

cóng nà lǐ lái dào féi lì bǐ , jiù shì mǎ qí dùn zhè yì fāng de tóu yí gè chéng , yě shì luó mǎ de zhù fáng chéng 。 wǒ men zài zhè chéng lǐ zhù le jǐ tiān 。

and from there to Philippi, which is a city of Macedonia, the foremost of the district, a Roman colony. We were staying some days in this city.

dāng ān xī rì , wǒ men chū chéng mén , dào le hé biān , zhī dào nà lǐ yǒu yí gè dǎo gào de dì fāng , wǒ men jiù zuò xià duì nà jù huì de fù nǚ jiǎng dào 。

On the Sabbath day we went outside of the city by a riverside, where we supposed there was a place of prayer, and we sat down and spoke to the women who had come together.

yǒu yí gè mài zǐ sè bù pǐ de fù rén , míng jiào lǚ dǐ yà , shì tuī yǎ tuī lā chéng de rén , sù lái jìng bài shén 。 tā tīng jiàn le , zhǔ jiù kāi dǎo tā de xīn , jiào tā liú xīn tīng bǎo luó suǒ jiǎng de huà 。

A certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, one who worshiped God, heard us. The Lord opened her heart to listen to the things which were spoken by Paul.

tā hé tā yì jiā jì lǐng le xǐ , biàn qiú wǒ men shuō :「 nǐ men ruò yǐ wèi wǒ shì zhēn xìn zhǔ de , qǐng dào wǒ jiā lǐ lái zhù 」; yú shì qiáng liú wǒ men 。

When she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay.” So she persuaded us.

hòu lái , wǒ men wǎng nà dǎo gào de dì fāng qù 。 yǒu yí gè shǐ nǚ yíng zhe miàn lái , tā bèi wū guǐ suǒ fù , yòng fǎ shù , jiào tā zhǔ rén men dà dé cái lì 。

As we were going to prayer, a certain girl having a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much gain by fortune telling.

:「 。」

tā gēn suí bǎo luó hé wǒ men , hǎn zhe shuō :「 zhè xiē rén shì zhì gāo shén de pú rén , duì nǐ men chuán shuō jiù rén de dào 。」

Following Paul and us, she cried out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us a way of salvation!”

tā yì lián duō rì zhè yàng hǎn jiào , bǎo luó jiù xīn zhōng yàn fán , zhuǎn shēn duì nà guǐ shuō :「 wǒ fèng yē sū jī dū de míng , fēn fù nǐ cóng tā shēn shàng chū lái !」 nà guǐ dāng shí jiù chū lái le 。

She was doing this for many days. But Paul, becoming greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” It came out that very hour.

shǐ nǚ de zhǔ rén men jiàn dé lì de zhǐ wàng méi yǒu le , biàn jiū zhù bǎo luó hé xī lā , lā tā men dào shì shàng qù jiàn shǒu lǐng ;

But when her masters saw that the hope of their gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers.

yòu dài dào guān zhǎng miàn qián shuō :「 zhè xiē rén yuán shì yóu tài rén , jìng sāo rǎo wǒ men de chéng ,

When they had brought them to the magistrates, they said, “These men, being Jews, are agitating our city

。」

chuán wǒ men luó mǎ rén suǒ bù kě shòu bù kě xíng de guī jǔ 。」

and advocate customs which it is not lawful for us to accept or to observe, being Romans.”

zhòng rén jiù yì tóng qǐ lái gōng jī tā men 。 guān zhǎng fēn fù bāo le tā men de yī shang , yòng gùn dǎ ;

The multitude rose up together against them and the magistrates tore their clothes from them, then commanded them to be beaten with rods.

便

dǎ le xǔ duō gùn , biàn jiāng tā men xià zài jiān lǐ , zhǔ fù jìn zú yán jǐn kān shǒu 。

When they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely.

jìn zú lǐng le zhè yàng de mìng , jiù bǎ tā men xià zài nèi jiān lǐ , liǎng jiǎo shàng le mù gǒu 。

Having received such a command, he threw them into the inner prison and secured their feet in the stocks.

yuē zài bàn yè , bǎo luó hé xī lā dǎo gào , chàng shī zàn měi shén , zhòng qiú fàn yě cè ěr ér tīng 。

But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.

hū rán , dì dà zhèn dòng , shèn zhì jiān láo de dì jī dōu yáo dòng le , jiān mén lì kè quán kāi , zhòng qiú fàn de suǒ liàn yě dōu sōng kāi le 。

Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were loosened.

jìn zú yì xǐng , kàn jiàn jiān mén quán kāi , yǐ wéi qiú fàn yǐ jīng táo zǒu , jiù bá dāo yào zì shā 。

The jailer, being roused out of sleep and seeing the prison doors open, drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped.

:「。」

bǎo luó dà shēng hū jiào shuō :「 bú yào shāng hài zì jǐ ! wǒ men dōu zài zhè lǐ 。」

But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, “Don’t harm yourself, for we are all here!”

jìn zú jiào rén ná dēng lái , jiù tiào jìn qù , zhàn zhàn jīng jīng dì fǔ fú zài bǎo luó 、 xī lā miàn qián ;

He called for lights, sprang in, fell down trembling before Paul and Silas,

yòu lǐng tā men chū lái , shuō :「 èr wèi xiān shēng , wǒ dāng zěn yàng xíng cái kě yǐ dé jiù ?」

brought them out, and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

:「。」

tā men shuō :「 dāng xìn zhǔ yē sū , nǐ hé nǐ yì jiā dōu bì dé jiù 。」

They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

tā men jiù bǎ zhǔ de dào jiǎng gěi tā hé tā quán jiā de rén tīng 。

They spoke the word of the Lord to him, and to all who were in his house.

dāng yè , jiù zài nà shí hòu , jìn zú bǎ tā men dài qù , xǐ tā men de shāng ; tā hé shǔ hū tā de rén lì shí dōu shòu le xǐ 。

He took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes, and was immediately baptized, he and all his household.

yú shì jìn zú lǐng tā men shàng zì jǐ jiā lǐ qù , gěi tā men bǎi shàng fàn 。 tā hé quán jiā , yīn wèi xìn le shén , dōu hěn xǐ lè 。

He brought them up into his house and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly with all his household, having believed in God.

dào le tiān liàng , guān zhǎng dǎ fā chāi yì lái , shuō :「 shì fàng nà liǎng gè rén ba 。」

But when it was day, the magistrates sent the sergeants, saying, “Let those men go.”

:「。」

jìn zú jiù bǎ zhè huà gào sù bǎo luó shuō :「 guān zhǎng dǎ fā rén lái jiào shì fàng nǐ men , rú jīn kě yǐ chū jiān , píng píng ān ān dì qù ba 。」

The jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent to let you go; now therefore come out and go in peace.”

:「!」

bǎo luó què shuō :「 wǒ men shì luó mǎ rén , bìng méi yǒu dìng zuì , tā men jiù zài zhòng rén miàn qián dǎ le wǒ men , yòu bǎ wǒ men xià zài jiān lǐ , xiàn zài yào sī xià niǎn wǒ men chū qù ma ? zhè shì bù xíng de 。 jiào tā men zì jǐ lái lǐng wǒ men chū qù ba !」

But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us publicly without a trial, men who are Romans, and have cast us into prison! Do they now release us secretly? No, most certainly, but let them come themselves and bring us out!”

chāi yì bǎ zhè huà huí bǐng guān zhǎng 。 guān zhǎng tīng jiàn tā men shì luó mǎ rén , jiù hài pà le ,

The sergeants reported these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Romans,

yú shì lái quàn tā men , lǐng tā men chū lái , qǐng tā men lí kāi nà chéng 。

and they came and begged them. When they had brought them out, they asked them to depart from the city.

èr rén chū le jiān , wǎng lǚ dǐ yà jiā lǐ qù , jiàn le dì xiong men , quàn wèi tā men yì fān , jiù zǒu le 。

They went out of the prison and entered into Lydia’s house. When they had seen the brothers, they encouraged them, then departed.
