yē sū jìn le yē lì gē , zhèng jīng guò de shí hòu ,

He entered and was passing through Jericho.

yǒu yí gè rén míng jiào sā gāi , zuò shuì lì cháng , shì gè cái zhǔ 。

There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.

tā yào kàn kàn yē sū shì zěn yàng de rén ; zhī yīn rén duō , tā de shēn liàng yòu ǎi , suǒ yǐ bù dé kàn jiàn ,

He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short.

jiù pǎo dào qián tou , pá shàng sāng shù , yào kàn yē sū , yīn wèi yē sū bì cóng nà lǐ jīng guò 。

He ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was going to pass that way.

yē sū dào le nà lǐ , tái tóu yí kàn , duì tā shuō :「 sā gāi , kuài xià lái ! jīn tiān wǒ bì zhù zài nǐ jiā lǐ 。」

When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”

tā jiù jí máng xià lái , huān huān xǐ xǐ dì jiē dài yē sū 。

He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.

:「宿。」

zhòng rén kàn jiàn , dōu sī xià yì lùn shuō :「 tā jìng dào zuì rén jiā lǐ qù zhù sù 。」

When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”

sā gāi zhàn zhe duì zhǔ shuō :「 zhǔ a , wǒ bǎ suǒ yǒu de yí bàn gěi qióng rén ; wǒ ruò é zhà le shuí , jiù hái tā sì bèi 。」

Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”

:「

yē sū shuō :「 jīn tiān jiù ēn dào le zhè jiā , yīn wèi tā yě shì yà bó lā hǎn de zǐ sūn 。

Jesus said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.

。」

rén zǐ lái , wèi yào xún zhǎo 、 zhěng jiù shī sàng de rén 。」

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”

zhòng rén zhèng zài tīng jiàn zhè xiē huà de shí hòu , yē sū yīn wèi jiāng jìn yē lù sā lěng , yòu yīn tā men yǐ wéi shén de guó kuài yào xiǎn chū lái , jiù lìng shè yí gè bǐ yù , shuō :

As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that God’s Kingdom would be revealed immediately.

「 yǒu yí gè guì zhòu wǎng yuǎn fāng qù , yào dé guó huí lái ,

He said therefore, “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.

biàn jiào le tā de shí gè pú rén lái , jiāo gěi tā men shí dìng yín zi , shuō :『 nǐ men qù zuò shēng yì , zhí děng wǒ huí lái 。』

He called ten servants of his and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, ‘Conduct business until I come.’

tā běn guó de rén què hèn tā , dǎ fā shǐ zhě suí hòu qù , shuō :『 wǒ men bú yuàn yì zhè ge rén zuò wǒ men de wáng 。』

But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to reign over us.’

tā jì dé guó huí lái , jiù fēn fù jiào nà lǐng yín zi de pú rén lái , yào zhī dào tā men zuò shēng yì zhuàn le duō shǎo 。

“When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.

tóu yí gè shàng lái , shuō :『 zhǔ a , nǐ de yí dìng yín zi yǐ jīng zhuàn le shí dìng 。』

The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’

:『。』

zhǔ rén shuō :『 hǎo ! liáng shàn de pú rén , nǐ jì zài zuì xiǎo de shì shàng yǒu zhōng xīn , kě yǐ yǒu quán bǐng guǎn shí zuò chéng 。』

“He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’

dì èr gè lái , shuō :『 zhǔ a , nǐ de yí dìng yín zi yǐ jīng zhuàn le wǔ dìng 。』

“The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’

zhǔ rén shuō :『 nǐ yě kě yǐ guǎn wǔ zuò chéng 。』

“So he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’

:『

yòu yǒu yí gè lái shuō :『 zhǔ a , kàn nǎ , nǐ de yí dìng yín zi zài zhè lǐ , wǒ bǎ tā bāo zài shǒu jīn lǐ cún zhe 。

Another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief,

。』

wǒ yuán shì pà nǐ , yīn wèi nǐ shì yán lì de rén ; méi yǒu fàng xià de , hái yào qù ná , méi yǒu zhǒng xià de , hái yào qù shōu 。』

for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’

:『

zhǔ rén duì tā shuō :『 nǐ zhè è pú , wǒ yào píng nǐ de kǒu dìng nǐ de zuì 。 nǐ jì zhī dào wǒ shì yán lì de rén , méi yǒu fàng xià de , hái yào qù ná , méi yǒu zhǒng xià de , hái yào qù shōu ,

“He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down and reaping that which I didn’t sow.

wèi shén me bù bǎ wǒ de yín zǐ jiāo gěi yín háng , děng wǒ lái de shí hòu , lián běn dài lì dōu kě yǐ yào huí lái ne ?』

Then why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’

:『。』

jiù duì páng biān zhàn zhe de rén shuō :『 duó guò tā zhè yí dìng lái , gěi nà yǒu shí dìng de 。』

He said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to him who has the ten minas.’

:『。』

tā men shuō :『 zhǔ a , tā yǐ jīng yǒu shí dìng le 。』

“They said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’

:『

zhǔ rén shuō :『 wǒ gào sù nǐ men , fán yǒu de , hái yào jiā gěi tā ; méi yǒu de , lián tā suǒ yǒu de yě yào duó guò lái 。

‘For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.

!』」

zhì yú wǒ nà xiē chóu dí , bú yào wǒ zuò tā men wáng de , bǎ tā men lā lái , zài wǒ miàn qián shā le ba !』」

But bring those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’”

yē sū shuō wán le zhè huà , jiù zài qián miàn zǒu , shàng yē lù sā lěng qù 。

Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

jiāng jìn bó fǎ qí hé bó dà ní , zài yí zuò shān míng jiào gǎn lǎn shān nà lǐ , jiù dǎ fā liǎng gè mén tú , shuō :

When he came near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples,

「 nǐ men wǎng duì miàn cūn zǐ lǐ qù , jìn qù de shí hòu , bì kàn jiàn yì pǐ lǘ jū shuān zài nà lǐ , shì cóng lái méi yǒu rén qí guò de , kě yǐ jiě kāi qiān lái 。

saying, “Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, which no man has ever sat upon. Untie it and bring it.

ruò yǒu rén wèn wèi shén me jiě tā , nǐ men jiù shuō :『 zhǔ yào yòng tā 。』」

If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say to him: ‘The Lord needs it.’”

dǎ fā de rén qù le , suǒ yù jiàn de zhèng rú yē sū suǒ shuō de 。

Those who were sent went away and found things just as he had told them.

tā men jiě lǘ jū de shí hòu , zhǔ rén wèn tā men shuō :「 jiě lǘ jū zuò shén me ?」

As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”

:「。」

tā men shuō :「 zhǔ yào yòng tā 。」

They said, “The Lord needs it.”

tā men qiān dào yē sū nà lǐ , bǎ zì jǐ de yī fu dā zài shàng miàn , fú zhe yē sū qí shàng 。

Then they brought it to Jesus. They threw their cloaks on the colt and sat Jesus on them.

zǒu de shí hòu , zhòng rén bǎ yī fu pù zài lù shang 。

As he went, they spread their cloaks on the road.

jiāng jìn yē lù sā lěng , zhèng xià gǎn lǎn shān de shí hòu , zhòng mén tú yīn suǒ jiàn guò de yí qiè yì néng , dōu huān lè qǐ lái , dà shēng zàn měi shén ,

As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,

shuō : fèng zhǔ míng lái de wáng shì yīng dāng chēng sòng de ! zài tiān shàng yǒu hé píng ; zài zhì gāo zhī chù yǒu róng guāng 。

saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”

zhòng rén zhōng yǒu jǐ gè fǎ lì sài rén duì yē sū shuō :「 fū zǐ , zé bèi nǐ de mén tú ba !」

Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”

:「。」

yē sū shuō :「 wǒ gào sù nǐ men , ruò shì tā men bì kǒu bù shuō , zhè xiē shí tou bì yào hū jiào qǐ lái 。」

He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.”

yē sū kuài dào yē lù sā lěng , kàn jiàn chéng , jiù wèi tā āi kū ,

When he came near, he saw the city and wept over it,

:「

shuō :「 bā bù dé nǐ zài zhè rì zi zhī dào guān xì nǐ píng ān de shì ; wú nài zhè shì xiàn zài shì yǐn cáng de , jiào nǐ de yǎn kàn bù chū lái 。

saying, “If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes.

yīn wèi rì zi jiāng dào , nǐ de chóu dí bì zhù qǐ tǔ lěi , zhōu wéi huán rào nǐ , sì miàn kùn zhù nǐ ,

For the days will come on you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side,

。」

bìng yào sǎo miè nǐ hé nǐ lǐ tou de ér nǚ , lián yí kuài shí tou yě bù liú zài shí tou shàng , yīn nǐ bù zhī dào juàn gù nǐ de shí hòu 。」

and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.”

殿

yē sū jìn le diàn , gǎn chū lǐ tou zuò mǎi mài de rén ,

He entered into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,

:「殿殿使。」

duì tā men shuō :「 jīng shàng shuō : wǒ de diàn bì zuò dǎo gào de diàn , nǐ men dǎo shǐ tā chéng wéi zéi wō le 。」

saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of robbers’!”

殿

yē sū tiān tiān zài diàn lǐ jiào xùn rén 。 jì sī zhǎng hé wén shì yǔ bǎi xìng de zūn cháng dōu xiǎng yào shā tā ,

He was teaching daily in the temple, but the chief priests, the scribes, and the leading men among the people sought to destroy him.

dàn xún bù chū fǎ zǐ lái , yīn wèi bǎi xìng dōu cè ěr tīng tā 。

They couldn’t find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.
