yē sū yòu zài hǎi biān jiào xùn rén 。 yǒu xǔ duō rén dào tā nà lǐ jù jí , tā zhī dé shàng chuán zuò xià 。 chuán zài hǎi lǐ , zhòng rén dōu kào jìn hǎi , zhàn zài àn shàng 。

Again he began to teach by the seaside. A great multitude was gathered to him, so that he entered into a boat in the sea and sat down. All the multitude were on the land by the sea.

yē sū jiù yòng bǐ yù jiào xùn tā men xǔ duō dào lǐ 。 zài jiào xùn zhī jiān , duì tā men shuō :

He taught them many things in parables, and told them in his teaching,

「 nǐ men tīng a ! yǒu yí gè sā zhǒng de chū qù sā zhǒng 。

“Listen! Behold, the farmer went out to sow.

sā de shí hòu , yǒu luò zài lù páng de , fēi niǎo lái chī jìn le ;

As he sowed, some seed fell by the road, and the birds came and devoured it.

yǒu luò zài tǔ qiǎn shí tou dì shàng de , tǔ jì bù shēn , fā miáo zuì kuài ,

Others fell on the rocky ground, where it had little soil, and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of soil.

rì tou chū lái yí shài , yīn wèi méi yǒu gēn , jiù kū gān le ;

When the sun had risen, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

yǒu luò zài jīng jí lǐ de , jīng jí cháng qǐ lái , bǎ tā jǐ zhù le , jiù bù jiē shi ;

Others fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

」;

yòu yǒu luò zài hǎo tǔ lǐ de , jiù fā shēng zhǎng dà , jiē shi yǒu sān shí bèi de , yǒu liù shí bèi de , yǒu yì bǎi bèi de 」;

Others fell into the good ground and yielded fruit, growing up and increasing. Some produced thirty times, some sixty times, and some one hundred times as much.”

:「!」

yòu shuō :「 yǒu ěr kě tīng de , jiù yīng dāng tīng !」

He said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.”

wú rén de shí hòu , gēn suí yē sū de rén hé shí èr gè mén tú wèn tā zhè bǐ yù de yì sī 。

When he was alone, those who were around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.

:「

yē sū duì tā men shuō :「 shén guó de ào mì zhī jiào nǐ men zhī dào , ruò shì duì wài rén jiǎng , fán shì jiù yòng bǐ yù ,

He said to them, “To you is given the mystery of God’s Kingdom, but to those who are outside, all things are done in parables,

。」

jiào tā men kàn shì kàn jiàn , què bù xiǎo de ; tīng shì tīng jiàn , què bù míng bái ; kǒng pà tā men huí zhuǎn guò lái , jiù dé shè miǎn 。」

that ‘seeing they may see and not perceive, and hearing they may hear and not understand, lest perhaps they should turn again, and their sins should be forgiven them.’”

:「

yòu duì tā men shuō :「 nǐ men bù míng bái zhè bǐ yù ma ? zhè yàng zěn néng míng bái yí qiè de bǐ yù ne ?

He said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How will you understand all of the parables?

sā zhǒng zhī rén suǒ sā de jiù shì dào 。

The farmer sows the word.

nà sā zài lù páng de , jiù shì rén tīng le dào , sā dàn lì kè lái , bǎ sā zài tā xīn lǐ de dào duó le qù 。

The ones by the road are the ones where the word is sown; and when they have heard, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word which has been sown in them.

nà sā zài shí tou dì shàng de , jiù shì rén tīng le dào , lì kè huān xǐ lǐng shòu ,

These in the same way are those who are sown on the rocky places, who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with joy.

dàn tā xīn lǐ méi yǒu gēn , bú guò shì zàn shí de , jí zhì wèi dào zāo le huàn nàn , huò shì shòu le bī pò , lì kè jiù diē dǎo le 。

They have no root in themselves, but are short-lived. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they stumble.

hái yǒu nà sā zài jīng jí lǐ de , jiù shì rén tīng le dào ,

Others are those who are sown among the thorns. These are those who have heard the word,

hòu lái yǒu shì shàng de sī lǜ 、 qián cái de mí huò , hé bié yàng de sī yù jìn lái , bǎ dào jǐ zhù le , jiù bù néng jiē shi 。

and the cares of this age, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

。」

nà sā zài hǎo dì shàng de , jiù shì rén tīng dào , yòu lǐng shòu , bìng qiě jiē shi , yǒu sān shí bèi de , yǒu liù shí bèi de , yǒu yì bǎi bèi de 。」

Those which were sown on the good ground are those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit, some thirty times, some sixty times, and some one hundred times.”

:「

yē sū yòu duì tā men shuō :「 rén ná dēng lái , qǐ shì yào fàng zài dòu dǐ xià , chuáng dǐ xià , bú fàng zài dēng tái shàng ma ?

He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Isn’t it put on a stand?

yīn wèi yǎn cáng de shì , méi yǒu bù xiǎn chū lái de ; yǐn mán de shì , méi yǒu bú lù chū lái de 。

For there is nothing hidden except that it should be made known, neither was anything made secret but that it should come to light.

!」

yǒu ěr kě tīng de , jiù yīng dāng tīng !」

If any man has ears to hear, let him hear.”

:「

yòu shuō :「 nǐ men suǒ tīng de yào liú xīn 。 nǐ men yòng shén me liáng qì liàng gěi rén , yě bì yòng shén me liáng qì liàng gěi nǐ men , bìng qiě yào duō gěi nǐ men 。

He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you; and more will be given to you who hear.

。」

yīn wèi yǒu de , hái yào gěi tā ; méi yǒu de , lián tā suǒ yǒu de yě yào duó qù 。」

For whoever has, to him more will be given; and he who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.”

:「

yòu shuō :「 shén de guó rú tóng rén bǎ zhǒng sā zài dì shàng 。

He said, “God’s Kingdom is as if a man should cast seed on the earth,

hēi yè shuì jué , bái rì qǐ lái , zhè zhǒng jiù fā yá jiàn cháng , nà rén què bù xiǎo de rú hé zhè yàng 。

and should sleep and rise night and day, and the seed should spring up and grow, though he doesn’t know how.

dì shēng wǔ gǔ shì chū yú zì rán de : xiān fā miáo , hòu cháng suì , zài hòu suì shàng jié chéng bǎo mǎn de zǐ lì ;

For the earth bears fruit by itself: first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.

。」

gǔ jì shú le , jiù yòng lián dāo qù gē , yīn wèi shōu chéng de shí hòu dào le 。」

But when the fruit is ripe, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”

:「

yòu shuō :「 shén de guó , wǒ men kě yòng shén me bǐ jiào ne ? kě yòng shén me bǐ yù biǎo míng ne ?

He said, “How will we liken God’s Kingdom? Or with what parable will we illustrate it?

hǎo xiàng yí lì jiè cài zhǒng , zhǒng zài dì lǐ de shí hòu , suī bǐ dì shàng de bǎi zhǒng dōu xiǎo ,

It’s like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, though it is less than all the seeds that are on the earth,

dàn zhǒng shàng yǐ hòu , jiù cháng qǐ lái , bǐ gè yàng de cài dōu dà , yòu cháng chū dà zhī lái , shèn zhì tiān shàng de fēi niǎo kě yǐ sù zài tā de yìn xià 。」

yet when it is sown, grows up and becomes greater than all the herbs, and puts out great branches, so that the birds of the sky can lodge under its shadow.”

yē sū yòng xǔ duō zhè yàng de bǐ yù , zhào tā men suǒ néng tīng de , duì tā men jiǎng dào 。

With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it.

ruò bú yòng bǐ yù , jiù bú duì tā men jiǎng ; méi yǒu rén de shí hòu , jiù bǎ yí qiè de dào jiǎng gěi mén tú tīng 。

Without a parable he didn’t speak to them; but privately to his own disciples he explained everything.

:「。」

dāng nà tiān wǎn shàng , yē sū duì mén tú shuō :「 wǒ men dù dào nà biān qù ba 。」

On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let’s go over to the other side.”

mén tú lí kāi zhòng rén , yē sū réng zài chuán shàng , tā men jiù bǎ tā yì tóng dài qù ; yě yǒu bié de chuán hé tā tóng háng 。

Leaving the multitude, they took him with them, even as he was, in the boat. Other small boats were also with him.

hū rán qǐ le bào fēng , bō làng dǎ rù chuán nèi , shèn zhì chuán yào mǎn le shuǐ 。

A big wind storm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so much that the boat was already filled.

:「?」

yē sū zài chuán wěi shàng , zhěn zhe zhěn tou shuì jiào 。 mén tú jiào xǐng le tā , shuō :「 fū zǐ ! wǒ men sàng mìng , nǐ bú gù ma ?」

He himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him up and asked him, “Teacher, don’t you care that we are dying?”

:「!」

yē sū xǐng le , chì zé fēng , xiàng hǎi shuō :「 zhù le ba ! jìng le ba !」 fēng jiù zhǐ zhù , dà dà dì píng jìng le 。

He awoke and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” The wind ceased and there was a great calm.

:「?」

yē sū duì tā men shuō :「 wèi shén me dǎn qiè ? nǐ men hái méi yǒu xìn xīn ma ?」

He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? How is it that you have no faith?”

:「。」

tā men jiù dà dà dì jù pà , bǐ cǐ shuō :「 zhè dào dǐ shì shuí , lián fēng hé hǎi yě tīng cóng tā le 。」

They were greatly afraid and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
