亞蘭王便‧哈達聚集他的全軍，率領三十二個王，帶着車馬上來圍攻撒馬利亞；

yà lán wáng biàn · hǎ dá jù jí tā de quán jūn ， shuài lǐng sān shí èr gè wáng ， dài zhe chē mǎ shàng lái wéi gōng sā mǎ lì yà ；

Ben Hadad the king of Syria gathered all his army together; and there were thirty-two kings with him, with horses and chariots. He went up and besieged Samaria, and fought against it.

又差遣使者進城見以色列王亞哈，對他說：「便‧哈達如此說：

yòu chà qiǎn shǐ zhě jìn chéng jiàn yǐ sè liè wáng yà hā ， duì tā shuō ：「 biàn · hǎ dá rú cǐ shuō ：

He sent messengers into the city to Ahab king of Israel and said to him, “Ben Hadad says,

你的金銀都要歸我，你妻子兒女中最美的也要歸我。」

nǐ de jīn yín dōu yào guī wǒ ， nǐ qī zǐ ér nǚ zhōng zuì měi de yě yào guī wǒ 。」

‘Your silver and your gold are mine. Your wives also and your children, even the best, are mine.’”

以色列王回答說：「我主我王啊，可以依着你的話，我與我所有的都歸你。」

yǐ sè liè wáng huí dá shuō ：「 wǒ zhǔ wǒ wáng a ， kě yǐ yī zhe nǐ de huà ， wǒ yǔ wǒ suǒ yǒu de dōu guī nǐ 。」

The king of Israel answered, “It is according to your saying, my lord, O king. I am yours, and all that I have.”

使者又來說：「便‧哈達如此說：我已差遣人去見你，要你將你的金銀、妻子、兒女都給我。

shǐ zhě yòu lái shuō ：「 biàn · hǎ dá rú cǐ shuō ： wǒ yǐ chāi qiǎn rén qù jiàn nǐ ， yào nǐ jiāng nǐ de jīn yín 、 qī zǐ 、 ér nǚ dōu gěi wǒ 。

The messengers came again and said, “Ben Hadad says, ‘I sent indeed to you, saying, “You shall deliver me your silver, your gold, your wives, and your children;

但明日約在這時候，我還要差遣臣僕到你那裏，搜查你的家和你僕人的家，將你眼中一切所喜愛的都拿了去。」

dàn míng rì yuē zài zhè shí hòu ， wǒ hái yào chāi qiǎn chén pú dào nǐ nà lǐ ， sōu chá nǐ de jiā hé nǐ pú rén de jiā ， jiāng nǐ yǎn zhōng yí qiè suǒ xǐ ài de dōu ná le qù 。」

but I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, and they will search your house and the houses of your servants. Whatever is pleasant in your eyes, they will put it in their hand, and take it away.”’”

以色列王召了國中的長老來，對他們說：「請你們看看，這人是怎樣地謀害我，他先差遣人到我這裏來，要我的妻子、兒女，和金銀，我並沒有推辭他。」

yǐ sè liè wáng zhào le guó zhōng de zhǎng lǎo lái ， duì tā men shuō ：「 qǐng nǐ men kàn kàn ， zhè rén shì zěn yàng dì móu hài wǒ ， tā xiān chāi qiǎn rén dào wǒ zhè lǐ lái ， yào wǒ de qī zǐ 、 ér nǚ ， hé jīn yín ， wǒ bìng méi yǒu tuī cí tā 。」

Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, “Please notice how this man seeks mischief; for he sent to me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I didn’t deny him.”

長老和百姓對王說：「不要聽從他，也不要應允他。」

zhǎng lǎo hé bǎi xìng duì wáng shuō ：「 bú yào tīng cóng tā ， yě bú yào yīng yǔn tā 。」

All the elders and all the people said to him, “Don’t listen, and don’t consent.”

故此，以色列王對便‧哈達的使者說：「你們告訴我主我王說：王頭一次差遣人向僕人所要的，僕人都依從；但這次所要的，我不能依從。」使者就去回覆便‧哈達。

gù cǐ ， yǐ sè liè wáng duì biàn · hǎ dá de shǐ zhě shuō ：「 nǐ men gào sù wǒ zhǔ wǒ wáng shuō ： wáng tóu yí cì chāi qiǎn rén xiàng pú rén suǒ yào de ， pú rén dōu yī cóng ； dàn zhè cì suǒ yào de ， wǒ bù néng yī cóng 。」 shǐ zhě jiù qù huí fù biàn · hǎ dá 。

Therefore he said to the messengers of Ben Hadad, “Tell my lord the king, ‘All that you sent for to your servant at the first I will do, but this thing I cannot do.’” The messengers departed and brought him back the message.

便‧哈達又差遣人去見亞哈說：「撒馬利亞的塵土若夠跟從我的人每人捧一捧的，願神明重重地降罰與我！」

biàn · hǎ dá yòu chāi qiǎn rén qù jiàn yà hā shuō ：「 sā mǎ lì yà de chén tǔ ruò gòu gēn cóng wǒ de rén měi rén pěng yi pěng de ， yuàn shén míng chóng chóng dì jiàng fá yǔ wǒ ！」

Ben Hadad sent to him, and said, “The gods do so to me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria will be enough for handfuls for all the people who follow me.”

以色列王說：「你告訴他說，才頂盔貫甲的，休要像摘盔卸甲的誇口。」

yǐ sè liè wáng shuō ：「 nǐ gào sù tā shuō ， cái dǐng kuī guàn jiǎ de ， xiū yào xiàng zhāi kuī xiè jiǎ de kuā kǒu 。」

The king of Israel answered, “Tell him, ‘Don’t let him who puts on his armor brag like he who takes it off.’”

便‧哈達和諸王正在帳幕裏喝酒，聽見這話，就對他臣僕說：「擺隊吧！」他們就擺隊攻城。

biàn · hǎ dá hé zhū wáng zhèng zài zhàng mù lǐ hē jiǔ ， tīng jiàn zhè huà ， jiù duì tā chén pú shuō ：「 bǎi duì ba ！」 tā men jiù bǎi duì gōng chéng 。

When Ben Hadad heard this message as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, he said to his servants, “Prepare to attack!” So they prepared to attack the city.

有一個先知來見以色列王亞哈，說：「耶和華如此說：『這一大群人你看見了嗎？今日我必將他們交在你手裏，你就知道我是耶和華。』」

yǒu yí gè xiān zhī lái jiàn yǐ sè liè wáng yà hā ， shuō ：「 yē hé huá rú cǐ shuō ：『 zhè yí dà qún rén nǐ kàn jiàn le ma ？ jīn rì wǒ bì jiāng tā men jiāo zài nǐ shǒu lǐ ， nǐ jiù zhī dào wǒ shì yē hé huá 。』」

Behold, a prophet came near to Ahab king of Israel, and said, “The LORD says, ‘Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver it into your hand today. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”

亞哈說：「藉着誰呢？」他回答說：「耶和華說，藉着跟從省長的少年人。」亞哈說：「要誰率領呢？」他說：「要你親自率領。」

yà hā shuō ：「 jiè zhe shuí ne ？」 tā huí dá shuō ：「 yē hé huá shuō ， jiè zhe gēn cóng shěng zhǎng de shào nián rén 。」 yà hā shuō ：「 yào shuí shuài lǐng ne ？」 tā shuō ：「 yào nǐ qīn zì shuài lǐng 。」

Ahab said, “By whom?” He said, “The LORD says, ‘By the young men of the princes of the provinces.’” Then he said, “Who shall begin the battle?” He answered, “You.”

於是亞哈數點跟從省長的少年人，共有二百三十二名，後又數點以色列的眾兵，共有七千名。

yú shì yà hā shù diǎn gēn cóng shěng zhǎng de shào nián rén ， gòng yǒu èr bǎi sān shí èr míng ， hòu yòu shù diǎn yǐ sè liè de zhòng bīng ， gòng yǒu qī qiān míng 。

Then he mustered the young men of the princes of the provinces, and they were two hundred and thirty-two. After them, he mustered all the people, even all the children of Israel, being seven thousand.

午間，他們就出城；便‧哈達和幫助他的三十二個王正在帳幕裏痛飲。

wǔ jiān ， tā men jiù chū chéng ； biàn · hǎ dá hé bāng zhù tā de sān shí èr gè wáng zhèng zài zhàng mù lǐ tòng yǐn 。

They went out at noon. But Ben Hadad was drinking himself drunk in the pavilions, he and the kings, the thirty-two kings who helped him.

跟從省長的少年人先出城；便‧哈達差遣人去探望，他們回報說：「有人從撒馬利亞出來了。」

gēn cóng shěng zhǎng de shào nián rén xiān chū chéng ； biàn · hǎ dá chà qiǎn rén qù tàn wàng ， tā men huí bào shuō ：「 yǒu rén cóng sā mǎ lì yà chū lái le 。」

The young men of the princes of the provinces went out first; and Ben Hadad sent out, and they told him, saying, “Men are coming out from Samaria.”

他說：「他們若為講和出來，要活捉他們；若為打仗出來，也要活捉他們。」

tā shuō ：「 tā men ruò wèi jiǎng hé chū lái ， yào huó zhuō tā men ； ruò wèi dǎ zhàng chū lái ， yě yào huó zhuō tā men 。」

He said, “If they have come out for peace, take them alive; or if they have come out for war, take them alive.”

跟從省長的少年人出城，軍兵跟隨他們；

gēn cóng shěng zhǎng de shào nián rén chū chéng ， jūn bīng gēn suí tā men ；

So these went out of the city, the young men of the princes of the provinces, and the army which followed them.

各人遇見敵人就殺。亞蘭人逃跑，以色列人追趕他們；亞蘭王便‧哈達騎着馬和馬兵一同逃跑。

gè rén yù jiàn dí rén jiù shā 。 yà lán rén táo pǎo ， yǐ sè liè rén zhuī gǎn tā men ； yà lán wáng biàn · hǎ dá qí zhe mǎ hé mǎ bīng yì tóng táo pǎo 。

They each killed his man. The Syrians fled, and Israel pursued them. Ben Hadad the king of Syria escaped on a horse with horsemen.

以色列王出城攻打車馬，大大擊殺亞蘭人。

yǐ sè liè wáng chū chéng gōng dǎ chē mǎ ， dà dà jī shā yà lán rén 。

The king of Israel went out and struck the horses and chariots, and killed the Syrians with a great slaughter.

那先知來見以色列王，對他說：「你當自強，留心怎樣防備；因為到明年這時候，亞蘭王必上來攻擊你。」

nà xiān zhī lái jiàn yǐ sè liè wáng ， duì tā shuō ：「 nǐ dāng zì qiáng ， liú xīn zěn yàng fáng bèi ； yīn wèi dào míng nián zhè shí hòu ， yà lán wáng bì shàng lái gōng jī nǐ 。」

The prophet came near to the king of Israel and said to him, “Go, strengthen yourself, and plan what you must do, for at the return of the year, the king of Syria will come up against you.”

亞蘭王的臣僕對亞蘭王說：「以色列人的神是山神，所以他們勝過我們；但在平原與他們打仗，我們必定得勝。

yà lán wáng de chén pú duì yà lán wáng shuō ：「 yǐ sè liè rén de shén shì shān shén ， suǒ yǐ tā men shèng guò wǒ men ； dàn zài píng yuán yǔ tā men dǎ zhàng ， wǒ men bì dìng dé shèng 。

The servants of the king of Syria said to him, “Their god is a god of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we. But let’s fight against them in the plain, and surely we will be stronger than they.

王當這樣行：把諸王革去，派軍長代替他們，

wáng dāng zhè yàng xíng ： bǎ zhū wáng gé qù ， pài jūn zhǎng dài tì tā men ，

Do this thing: take the kings away, every man out of his place, and put captains in their place.

又照着王喪失軍兵之數，再招募一軍，馬補馬，車補車，我們在平原與他們打仗，必定得勝。」王便聽臣僕的話去行。

yòu zhào zhe wáng sàng shī jūn bīng zhī shù ， zài zhāo mù yì jūn ， mǎ bǔ mǎ ， chē bǔ chē ， wǒ men zài píng yuán yǔ tā men dǎ zhàng ， bì dìng dé shèng 。」 wáng biàn tīng chén pú de huà qù xíng 。

Muster an army like the army that you have lost, horse for horse and chariot for chariot. We will fight against them in the plain, and surely we will be stronger than they are.” He listened to their voice and did so.

次年，便‧哈達果然點齊亞蘭人上亞弗去，要與以色列人打仗。

cì nián ， biàn · hǎ dá guǒ rán diǎn qí yà lán rén shàng yà fú qù ， yào yǔ yǐ sè liè rén dǎ zhàng 。

At the return of the year, Ben Hadad mustered the Syrians and went up to Aphek to fight against Israel.

以色列人也點齊軍兵，預備食物，迎着亞蘭人出去，對着他們安營，好像兩小群山羊羔；亞蘭人卻滿了地面。

yǐ sè liè rén yě diǎn qí jūn bīng ， yù bèi shí wù ， yíng zhe yà lán rén chū qù ， duì zhe tā men ān yíng ， hǎo xiàng liǎng xiǎo qún shān yáng gāo ； yà lán rén què mǎn le dì miàn 。

The children of Israel were mustered and given provisions, and went against them. The children of Israel encamped before them like two little flocks of young goats, but the Syrians filled the country.

有神人來見以色列王，說：「耶和華如此說：『亞蘭人既說我－耶和華是山神，不是平原的神，所以我必將這一大群人都交在你手中，你們就知道我是耶和華。』」

yǒu shén rén lái jiàn yǐ sè liè wáng ， shuō ：「 yē hé huá rú cǐ shuō ：『 yà lán rén jì shuō wǒ — yē hé huá shì shān shén ， bú shì píng yuán de shén ， suǒ yǐ wǒ bì jiāng zhè yí dà qún rén dōu jiāo zài nǐ shǒu zhōng ， nǐ men jiù zhī dào wǒ shì yē hé huá 。』」

A man of God came near and spoke to the king of Israel, and said, “The LORD says, ‘Because the Syrians have said, “The LORD is a god of the hills, but he is not a god of the valleys,” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the LORD.’”

以色列人與亞蘭人相對安營七日，到第七日兩軍交戰；那一日以色列人殺了亞蘭人步兵十萬，

yǐ sè liè rén yǔ yà lán rén xiāng duì ān yíng qī rì ， dào dì qī rì liǎng jūn jiāo zhàn ； nà yí rì yǐ sè liè rén shā le yà lán rén bù bīng shí wàn ，

They encamped opposite each other for seven days. Then on the seventh day the battle was joined; and the children of Israel killed one hundred thousand footmen of the Syrians in one day.

其餘的逃入亞弗城；城牆塌倒，壓死剩下的二萬七千人。 便‧哈達也逃入城，藏在嚴密的屋子裏。

qí yú de táo rù yà fú chéng ； chéng qiáng tā dǎo ， yā sǐ shèng xià de èr wàn qī qiān rén 。 biàn · hǎ dá yě táo rù chéng ， cáng zài yán mì de wū zi lǐ 。

But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and the wall fell on twenty-seven thousand men who were left. Ben Hadad fled and came into the city, into an inner room.

他的臣僕對他說：「我們聽說以色列王都是仁慈的王，現在我們不如腰束麻布，頭套繩索，出去投降以色列王，或者他存留王的性命。」

tā de chén pú duì tā shuō ：「 wǒ men tīng shuō yǐ sè liè wáng dū shì rén cí de wáng ， xiàn zài wǒ men bù rú yāo shù má bù ， tóu tào shéng suǒ ， chū qù tóu xiáng yǐ sè liè wáng ， huò zhě tā cún liú wáng de xìng mìng 。」

His servants said to him, “See now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings. Please let us put sackcloth on our bodies and ropes on our heads, and go out to the king of Israel. Maybe he will save your life.”

於是他們腰束麻布，頭套繩索，去見以色列王，說：「王的僕人便‧哈達說，求王存留我的性命。」亞哈說：「他還活着嗎？他是我的兄弟。」

yú shì tā men yāo shù má bù ， tóu tào shéng suǒ ， qù jiàn yǐ sè liè wáng ， shuō ：「 wáng de pú rén biàn · hǎ dá shuō ， qiú wáng cún liú wǒ de xìng mìng 。」 yà hā shuō ：「 tā hái huó zhe ma ？ tā shì wǒ de xiōng dì 。」

So they put sackcloth on their bodies and ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, “Your servant Ben Hadad says, ‘Please let me live.’” He said, “Is he still alive? He is my brother.”

這些人留心探出他的口氣來，便急忙就着他的話說：「便‧哈達是王的兄弟！」王說：「你們去請他來。」便‧哈達出來見王，王就請他上車。

zhè xiē rén liú xīn tàn chū tā de kǒu qì lái ， biàn jí máng jiù zhe tā de huà shuō ：「 biàn · hǎ dá shì wáng de xiōng dì ！」 wáng shuō ：「 nǐ men qù qǐng tā lái 。」 biàn · hǎ dá chū lái jiàn wáng ， wáng jiù qǐng tā shàng chē 。

Now the men observed diligently and hurried to take this phrase; and they said, “Your brother Ben Hadad.” Then he said, “Go, bring him.” Then Ben Hadad came out to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.

便‧哈達對王說：「我父從你父那裏所奪的城邑，我必歸還。你可以在大馬士革立街市，像我父在撒馬利亞所立的一樣。」亞哈說：「我照此立約，放你回去」，就與他立約，放他去了。

biàn · hǎ dá duì wáng shuō ：「 wǒ fù cóng nǐ fù nà lǐ suǒ duó de chéng yì ， wǒ bì guī huán 。 nǐ kě yǐ zài dà mǎ shì gé lì jiē shì ， xiàng wǒ fù zài sā mǎ lì yà suǒ lì de yí yàng 。」 yà hā shuō ：「 wǒ zhào cǐ lì yuē ， fàng nǐ huí qù 」， jiù yǔ tā lì yuē ， fàng tā qù le 。

Ben Hadad said to him, “The cities which my father took from your father I will restore. You shall make streets for yourself in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria.” “I”, said Ahab, “will let you go with this covenant.” So he made a covenant with him and let him go.

有先知的一個門徒奉耶和華的命對他的同伴說：「你打我吧！」那人不肯打他。

yǒu xiān zhī de yí gè mén tú fèng yē hé huá de mìng duì tā de tóng bàn shuō ：「 nǐ dǎ wǒ ba ！」 nà rén bù kěn dǎ tā 。

A certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow by the LORD’s word, “Please strike me!” The man refused to strike him.

他就對那人說：「你既不聽從耶和華的話，你一離開我，必有獅子咬死你。」那人一離開他，果然遇見獅子，把他咬死了。

tā jiù duì nà rén shuō ：「 nǐ jì bù tīng cóng yē hé huá de huà ， nǐ yì lí kāi wǒ ， bì yǒu shī zǐ yǎo sǐ nǐ 。」 nà rén yì lí kāi tā ， guǒ rán yù jiàn shī zi ， bǎ tā yǎo sǐ le 。

Then he said to him, “Because you have not obeyed the LORD’s voice, behold, as soon as you have departed from me, a lion will kill you.” As soon as he had departed from him, a lion found him and killed him.

先知的門徒又遇見一個人，對他說：「你打我吧！」那人就打他，將他打傷。

xiān zhī de mén tú yòu yù jiàn yí gè rén ， duì tā shuō ：「 nǐ dǎ wǒ ba ！」 nà rén jiù dǎ tā ， jiāng tā dǎ shāng 。

Then he found another man, and said, “Please strike me.” The man struck him and wounded him.

他就去了，用頭巾蒙眼，改換面目，在路旁等候王。

tā jiù qù le ， yòng tóu jīn méng yǎn ， gǎi huàn miàn mù ， zài lù páng děng hòu wáng 。

So the prophet departed and waited for the king by the way, and disguised himself with his headband over his eyes.

王從那裏經過，他向王呼叫說：「僕人在陣上的時候，有人帶了一個人來，對我說：『你看守這人，若把他失了，你的性命必代替他的性命；不然，你必交出一他連得銀子來。』

wáng cóng nà lǐ jīng guò ， tā xiàng wáng hū jiào shuō ：「 pú rén zài zhèn shàng de shí hòu ， yǒu rén dài le yí gè rén lái ， duì wǒ shuō ：『 nǐ kān shǒu zhè rén ， ruò bǎ tā shī le ， nǐ de xìng mìng bì dài tì tā de xìng mìng ； bù rán ， nǐ bì jiāo chū yì tā lián dé yín zi lái 。』

As the king passed by, he cried to the king, and he said, “Your servant went out into the middle of the battle; and behold, a man came over and brought a man to me, and said, ‘Guard this man! If by any means he is missing, then your life shall be for his life, or else you shall pay a talent of silver.’

僕人正在忙亂之間，那人就不見了。」以色列王對他說：「你自己定妥了，必照樣判斷你。」

pú rén zhèng zài máng luàn zhī jiān ， nà rén jiù bú jiàn le 。」 yǐ sè liè wáng duì tā shuō ：「 nǐ zì jǐ dìng tuǒ le ， bì zhào yàng pàn duàn nǐ 。」

As your servant was busy here and there, he was gone.” The king of Israel said to him, “So shall your judgment be. You yourself have decided it.”

他急忙除掉蒙眼的頭巾，以色列王就認出他是一個先知。

tā jí máng chú diào méng yǎn de tóu jīn ， yǐ sè liè wáng jiù rèn chū tā shì yí gè xiān zhī 。

He hurried, and took the headband away from his eyes; and the king of Israel recognized that he was one of the prophets.

他對王說：「耶和華如此說：『因你將我定要滅絕的人放去，你的命就必代替他的命，你的民也必代替他的民。』」

tā duì wáng shuō ：「 yē hé huá rú cǐ shuō ：『 yīn nǐ jiāng wǒ dìng yào miè jué de rén fàng qù ， nǐ de mìng jiù bì dài tì tā de mìng ， nǐ de mín yě bì dài tì tā de mín 。』」

He said to him, “The LORD says, ‘Because you have let go out of your hand the man whom I had devoted to destruction, therefore your life will take the place of his life, and your people take the place of his people.’”

於是以色列王悶悶不樂地回到撒馬利亞，進了他的宮。

yú shì yǐ sè liè wáng mèn mèn bú lè dì huí dào sā mǎ lì yà ， jìn le tā de gōng 。

The king of Israel went to his house sullen and angry, and came to Samaria.
