提摩太前書 3

「人若想要得監督的職分，就是羨慕善工。」這話是可信的。

「 rén ruò xiǎng yào dé jiān dū de zhí fēn ， jiù shì xiàn mù shàn gōng 。」 zhè huà shì kě xìn de 。

This is a faithful saying: someone who seeks to be an overseer desires a good work.

作監督的，必須無可指責，只作一個婦人的丈夫，有節制，自守，端正，樂意接待遠人，善於教導；

zuò jiān dū de ， bì xū wú kě zhǐ zé ， zhī zuò yí gè fù rén de zhàng fū ， yǒu jié zhì ， zì shǒu ， duān zhèng ， lè yì jiē dài yuǎn rén ， shàn yú jiào dǎo ；

The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching;

不因酒滋事，不打人，只要溫和，不爭競，不貪財；

bù yīn jiǔ zī shì ， bù dǎ rén ， zhǐ yào wēn hé ， bù zhēng jìng ， bù tān cái ；

not a drinker, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;

好好管理自己的家，使兒女凡事端莊順服 。

hǎo hǎo guǎn lǐ zì jǐ de jiā ， shǐ ér nǚ fán shì duān zhuāng shùn fú 。

one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence;

人若不知道管理自己的家，焉能照管上帝的教會呢？

rén ruò bù zhī dào guǎn lǐ zì jǐ de jiā ， yān néng zhào guǎn shén de jiào huì ne ？

(for how could someone who doesn’t know how to rule his own house take care of God’s assembly?)

初入教的不可作監督，恐怕他自高自大，就落在魔鬼所受的刑罰裏。

chū rù jiào de bù kě zuò jiān dū ， kǒng pà tā zì gāo zì dà ， jiù luò zài mó guǐ suǒ shòu de xíng fá lǐ 。

not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.

監督也必須在教外有好名聲，恐怕被人毀謗，落在魔鬼的網羅裏。

jiān dū yě bì xū zài jiào wài yǒu hǎo míng shēng ， kǒng pà bèi rén huǐ bàng ， luò zài mó guǐ de wǎng luó lǐ 。

Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into reproach and the snare of the devil.

作執事的，也是如此：必須端莊，不一口兩舌，不好喝酒，不貪不義之財；

zuò zhí shì de ， yě shì rú cǐ ： bì xū duān zhuāng ， bù yì kǒu liǎng shé ， bù hǎo hē jiǔ ， bù tān bú yì zhī cái ；

Servants, in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for money,

要存清潔的良心，固守真道的奧祕。

yào cún qīng jié de liáng xīn ， gù shǒu zhēn dào de ào mì 。

holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

這等人也要先受試驗，若沒有可責之處，然後叫他們作執事。

zhè děng rén yě yào xiān shòu shì yàn ， ruò méi yǒu kě zé zhī chù ， rán hòu jiào tā men zuò zhí shì 。

Let them also first be tested; then let them serve if they are blameless.

女執事 也是如此：必須端莊，不說讒言，有節制，凡事忠心。

nǚ zhí shì yě shì rú cǐ ： bì xū duān zhuāng ， bù shuō chán yán ， yǒu jié zhì ， fán shì zhōng xīn 。

Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, and faithful in all things.

執事只要作一個婦人的丈夫，好好管理兒女和自己的家。

zhí shì zhǐ yào zuò yí gè fù rén de zhàng fu ， hǎo hǎo guǎn lǐ ér nǚ hé zì jǐ de jiā 。

Let servants be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

因為善作執事的，自己就得到美好的地步，並且在基督耶穌裏的真道上大有膽量。

yīn wèi shàn zuò zhí shì de ， zì jǐ jiù dé dào měi hǎo de dì bù ， bìng qiě zài jī dū yē sū lǐ de zhēn dào shàng dà yǒu dǎn liàng 。

For those who have served well gain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

我指望快到你那裏去，所以先將這些事寫給你。

wǒ zhǐ wàng kuài dào nǐ nà lǐ qù ， suǒ yǐ xiān jiāng zhè xiē shì xiě gěi nǐ 。

These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly,

倘若我耽延日久，你也可以知道在上帝的家中當怎樣行。這家就是永生上帝的教會，真理的柱石和根基。

tǎng ruò wǒ dān yán rì jiǔ ， nǐ yě kě yǐ zhī dào zài shén de jiā zhōng dāng zěn yàng xíng 。 zhè jiā jiù shì yǒng shēng shén de jiào huì ， zhēn lǐ de zhù shí hé gēn jī 。

but if I wait long, that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in God’s house, which is the assembly of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

大哉，敬虔的奧祕，無人不以為然！ 就是上帝在肉身顯現， 被聖靈稱義 ， 被天使看見， 被傳於外邦， 被世人信服， 被接在榮耀裏。

dà zāi ， jìng qián de ào mì ， wú rén bù yǐ wéi rán ！ jiù shì shén zài ròu shēn xiǎn xiàn ， bèi shèng líng chēng yì ， bèi tiān shǐ kàn jiàn ， bèi chuán yú wài bāng ， bèi shì rén xìn fú ， bèi jiē zài róng yào lǐ 。

Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
