亞撒的兒子約沙法接續他作王，奮勇自強，防備以色列人，

yà sā de ér zi yuē shā fǎ jiē xù tā zuò wáng ， fèn yǒng zì qiáng ， fáng bèi yǐ sè liè rén ，

Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place, and strengthened himself against Israel.

安置軍兵在猶大一切堅固城裏，又安置防兵在猶大地和他父亞撒所得以法蓮的城邑中。

ān zhì jūn bīng zài yóu dà yí qiè jiān gù chéng lǐ ， yòu ān zhì fáng bīng zài yóu dà dì hé tā fù yà sā suǒ dé yǐ fǎ lián de chéng yì zhōng 。

He placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.

耶和華與約沙法同在；因為他行他祖大衛初行的道，不尋求巴力，

yē hé huá yǔ yuē shā fǎ tóng zài ； yīn wèi tā xíng tā zǔ dà wèi chū xíng de dào ， bù xún qiú bā lì ，

The LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and didn’t seek the Baals,

只尋求他父親的上帝，遵行他的誡命，不效法以色列人的行為。

zhī xún qiú tā fù qīn de shén ， zūn xíng tā de jiè mìng ， bú xiào fǎ yǐ sè liè rén de xíng wéi 。

but sought the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not in the ways of Israel.

所以耶和華堅定他的國，猶大眾人給他進貢；約沙法大有尊榮資財。

suǒ yǐ yē hé huá jiān dìng tā de guó ， yóu dà zhòng rén gěi tā jìn gòng ； yuē shā fǎ dà yǒu zūn róng zī cái 。

Therefore the LORD established the kingdom in his hand. All Judah brought tribute to Jehoshaphat, and he had riches and honor in abundance.

他高興遵行耶和華的道，並且從猶大除掉一切邱壇和木偶。

tā gāo xīng zūn xíng yē hé huá de dào ， bìng qiě cóng yóu dà chú diào yí qiè qiū tán hé mù ǒu 。

His heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD. Furthermore, he took away the high places and the Asherah poles out of Judah.

他作王第三年，就差遣臣子便‧亥伊勒、俄巴底、撒迦利雅、拿坦業、米該亞往猶大各城去教訓百姓。

tā zuò wáng dì sān nián ， jiù chāi qiǎn chén zǐ biàn · hài yī lè 、 é bā dǐ 、 sā jiā lì yǎ 、 ná tǎn yè 、 mǐ gāi yà wǎng yóu dà gè chéng qù jiào xùn bǎi xìng 。

Also in the third year of his reign he sent his princes, even Ben Hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;

同着他們有利未人示瑪雅、尼探雅、西巴第雅、亞撒黑、示米拉末、約拿單、亞多尼雅、多比雅、駝‧巴多尼雅，又有祭司以利沙瑪、約蘭同着他們。

tóng zhe tā men yǒu lì wèi rén shì mǎ yǎ 、 ní tàn yǎ 、 xī bā dì yǎ 、 yà sā hēi 、 shì mǐ lā mò 、 yuē ná dān 、 yà duō ní yǎ 、 duō bǐ yǎ 、 tuó · bā duō ní yǎ ， yòu yǒu jì sī yǐ lì shā mǎ 、 yuē lán tóng zhe tā men 。

and with them Levites, even Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.

他們帶着耶和華的律法書，走遍猶大各城教訓百姓。

tā men dài zhe yē hé huá de lǜ fǎ shū ， zǒu biàn yóu dà gè chéng jiào xùn bǎi xìng 。

They taught in Judah, having the book of the LORD’s law with them. They went about throughout all the cities of Judah and taught among the people.

耶和華使猶大四圍的列國都甚恐懼，不敢與約沙法爭戰。

yē hé huá shǐ yóu dà sì wéi de liè guó dōu shèn kǒng jù ， bù gǎn yǔ yuē shā fǎ zhēng zhàn 。

The fear of the LORD fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.

有些非利士人與約沙法送禮物，納貢銀。阿拉伯人也送他公綿羊七千七百隻，公山羊七千七百隻。

yǒu xiē fēi lì shì rén yǔ yuē shā fǎ sòng lǐ wù ， nà gòng yín 。 ā lā bó rén yě sòng tā gōng mián yáng qī qiān qī bǎi zhī ， gōng shān yáng qī qiān qī bǎi zhī 。

Some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents and silver for tribute. The Arabians also brought him flocks: seven thousand seven hundred rams and seven thousand seven hundred male goats.

約沙法日漸強大，在猶大建造營寨和積貨城。

yuē shā fǎ rì jiàn qiáng dà ， zài yóu dà jiàn zào yíng zhài hé jī huò chéng 。

Jehoshaphat grew great exceedingly; and he built fortresses and store cities in Judah.

他在猶大城邑中有許多工程，又在耶路撒冷有戰士，就是大能的勇士。

tā zài yóu dài chéng yì zhōng yǒu xǔ duō gōng chéng ， yòu zài yē lù sā lěng yǒu zhàn shì ， jiù shì dà néng de yǒng shì 。

He had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem.

他們的數目，按着宗族，記在下面：猶大族的千夫長押拿為首率領大能的勇士－三十萬；

tā men de shù mù ， àn zhe zōng zú ， jì zài xià miàn ： yóu dà zú de ， qiān fū cháng yā ná wéi shǒu shuài lǐng dà néng de yǒng shì — sān shí wàn ；

This was the numbering of them according to their fathers’ houses: From Judah, the captains of thousands: Adnah the captain, and with him three hundred thousand mighty men of valor;

其次是，千夫長約哈難率領大能的勇士－二十八萬；

qí cì shì ， qiān fū cháng yuē hā nán shuài lǐng dà néng de yǒng shì — èr shí bā wàn ；

and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred eighty thousand;

其次是，細基利的兒子亞瑪斯雅（他為耶和華犧牲自己）率領大能的勇士－二十萬。

qí cì shì ， xì jī lì de ér zi yà mǎ sī yǎ （ tā wèi yē hé huá xī shēng zì jǐ ） shuài lǐng dà néng de yǒng shì — èr shí wàn 。

and next to him Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself to the LORD, and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valor.

便雅憫族，是大能的勇士以利雅大率領拿弓箭和盾牌的－二十萬；

biàn yǎ mǐn zú ， shì dà néng de yǒng shì yǐ lì yǎ dà shuài lǐng ná gōng jiàn hé dùn pái de — èr shí wàn ；

From Benjamin: Eliada, a mighty man of valor, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;

其次是，約薩拔率領預備打仗的－十八萬。

qí cì shì ， yuē sà bá shuài lǐng yù bèi dǎ zhàng de — shí bā wàn 。

and next to him Jehozabad, and with him one hundred eighty thousand ready and prepared for war.

這都是伺候王的，還有王在猶大全地堅固城所安置的不在其內。

zhè dōu shì sì hòu wáng de ， hái yǒu wáng zài yóu dà quán dì jiān gù chéng suǒ ān zhì de bú zài qí nèi 。

These were those who waited on the king, in addition to those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.
