申命記 20

「你出去與仇敵爭戰的時候，看見馬匹、車輛，並有比你多的人民，不要怕他們，因為領你出埃及地的耶和華－你上帝與你同在。

「 nǐ chū qù yǔ chóu dí zhēng zhàn de shí hòu ， kàn jiàn mǎ pǐ 、 chē liàng ， bìng yǒu bǐ nǐ duō de rén mín ， bú yào pà tā men ， yīn wèi lǐng nǐ chū āi jí dì de yē hé huá — nǐ shén yǔ nǐ tóng zài 。

When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses, chariots, and a people more numerous than you, you shall not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, is with you.

你們將要上陣的時候，祭司要到百姓面前宣告

nǐ men jiāng yào shàng zhèn de shí hòu ， jì sī yào dào bǎi xìng miàn qián xuān gào

It shall be, when you draw near to the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people,

說：『以色列人哪，你們當聽，你們今日將要與仇敵爭戰，不要膽怯，不要懼怕戰兢，也不要因他們驚恐；

shuō ：『 yǐ sè liè rén nǎ ， nǐ men dāng tīng ， nǐ men jīn rì jiāng yào yǔ chóu dí zhēng zhàn ， bú yào dǎn qiè ， bú yào jù pà zhàn jīng ， yě bú yào yīn tā men jīng kǒng ；

and shall tell them, “Hear, Israel, you draw near today to battle against your enemies. Don’t let your heart faint! Don’t be afraid, nor tremble, neither be scared of them;

因為耶和華－你們的上帝與你們同去，要為你們與仇敵爭戰，拯救你們。』

yīn wèi yē hé huá — nǐ men de shén yǔ nǐ men tóng qù ， yào wèi nǐ men yǔ chóu dí zhēng zhàn ， zhěng jiù nǐ men 。』

for the LORD your God is he who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”

官長也要對百姓宣告說：『誰建造房屋，尚未奉獻，他可以回家去，恐怕他陣亡，別人去奉獻。

guān zhǎng yě yào duì bǎi xìng xuān gào shuō ：『 shuí jiàn zào fáng wū ， shàng wèi fèng xiàn ， tā kě yǐ huí jiā qù ， kǒng pà tā zhèn wáng ， bié rén qù fèng xiàn 。

The officers shall speak to the people, saying, “What man is there who has built a new house, and has not dedicated it? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.

誰種葡萄園，尚未用所結的果子，他可以回家去，恐怕他陣亡，別人去用。

shuí zhǒng pú táo yuán ， shàng wèi yòng suǒ jié de guǒ zǐ ， tā kě yǐ huí jiā qù ， kǒng pà tā zhèn wáng ， bié rén qù yòng 。

What man is there who has planted a vineyard, and has not used its fruit? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man use its fruit.

誰聘定了妻，尚未迎娶，他可以回家去，恐怕他陣亡，別人去娶。』

shuí pìn dìng le qī ， shàng wèi yíng qǔ ， tā kě yǐ huí jiā qù ， kǒng pà tā zhèn wáng ， bié rén qù qǔ 。』

What man is there who has pledged to be married to a wife, and has not taken her? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.”

官長又要對百姓宣告說：『誰懼怕膽怯，他可以回家去，恐怕他弟兄的心消化，和他一樣。』

guān zhǎng yòu yào duì bǎi xìng xuān gào shuō ：『 shuí jù pà dǎn qiè ， tā kě yǐ huí jiā qù ， kǒng pà tā dì xiong de xīn xiāo huà ， hé tā yí yàng 。』

The officers shall speak further to the people, and they shall say, “What man is there who is fearful and faint-hearted? Let him go and return to his house, lest his brother’s heart melt as his heart.”

官長對百姓宣告完了，就當派軍長率領他們。

guān zhǎng duì bǎi xìng xuān gào wán le ， jiù dāng pài jūn zhǎng shuài lǐng tā men 。

It shall be, when the officers have finished speaking to the people, that they shall appoint captains of armies at the head of the people.

「你臨近一座城、要攻打的時候，先要對城裏的民宣告和睦的話。

「 nǐ lín jìn yí zuò chéng 、 yào gōng dǎ de shí hòu ， xiān yào duì chéng lǐ de mín xuān gào hé mù de huà 。

When you draw near to a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace to it.

他們若以和睦的話回答你，給你開了城，城裏所有的人都要給你效勞，服事你；

tā men ruò yǐ hé mù de huà huí dá nǐ ， gěi nǐ kāi le chéng ， chéng lǐ suǒ yǒu de rén dōu yào gěi nǐ xiào láo ， fú shì nǐ ；

It shall be, if it gives you answer of peace and opens to you, then it shall be that all the people who are found therein shall become forced laborers to you, and shall serve you.

若不肯與你和好，反要與你打仗，你就要圍困那城。

ruò bù kěn yǔ nǐ hé hǎo ， fǎn yào yǔ nǐ dǎ zhàng ， nǐ jiù yào wéi kùn nà chéng 。

If it will make no peace with you, but will make war against you, then you shall besiege it.

耶和華－你的上帝把城交付你手，你就要用刀殺盡這城的男丁。

yē hé huá — nǐ de shén bǎ chéng jiāo fù nǐ shǒu ， nǐ jiù yào yòng dāo shā jìn zhè chéng de nán dīng 。

When the LORD your God delivers it into your hand, you shall strike every male of it with the edge of the sword;

惟有婦女、孩子、牲畜，和城內一切的財物，你可以取為自己的掠物。耶和華－你上帝把你仇敵的財物賜給你，你可以吃用。

wéi yǒu fù nǚ 、 hái zi 、 shēng chù ， hé chéng nèi yí qiè de cái wù ， nǐ kě yǐ qǔ wèi zì jǐ de lüè wù 。 yē hé huá — nǐ shén bǎ nǐ chóu dí de cái wù cì gěi nǐ ， nǐ kě yǐ chī yòng 。

but the women, the little ones, the livestock, and all that is in the city, even all its plunder, you shall take for plunder for yourself. You may use the plunder of your enemies, which the LORD your God has given you.

離你甚遠的各城，不是這些國民的城，你都要這樣待他。

lí nǐ shèn yuǎn de gè chéng ， bú shì zhè xiē guó mín de chéng ， nǐ dōu yào zhè yàng dài tā 。

Thus you shall do to all the cities which are very far off from you, which are not of the cities of these nations.

但這些國民的城，耶和華－你上帝既賜你為業，其中凡有氣息的，一個不可存留；

dàn zhè xiē guó mín de chéng ， yē hé huá — nǐ shén jì cì nǐ wèi yè ， qí zhōng fán yǒu qì xī de ， yí gè bù kě cún liú ；

But of the cities of these peoples that the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes;

只要照耶和華－你上帝所吩咐的將這赫人、亞摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人都滅絕淨盡，

zhǐ yào zhào yē hé huá — nǐ shén suǒ fēn fù de jiāng zhè hè rén 、 yà mó lì rén 、 jiā nán rén 、 bǐ lì xǐ rén 、 xī wèi rén 、 yē bù sī rén dōu miè jué jìng jìn ，

but you shall utterly destroy them: the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, as the LORD your God has commanded you;

免得他們教導你們學習一切可憎惡的事，就是他們向自己神所行的，以致你們得罪耶和華－你們的上帝。

miǎn de tā men jiào dǎo nǐ men xué xí yí qiè kě zēng wù de shì ， jiù shì tā men xiàng zì jǐ shén suǒ xíng de ， yǐ zhì nǐ men dé zuì yē hé huá — nǐ men de shén 。

that they not teach you to follow all their abominations, which they have done for their gods; so would you sin against the LORD your God.

「你若許久圍困、攻打所要取的一座城，就不可舉斧子砍壞樹木；因為你可以吃那樹上的果子，不可砍伐。田間的樹木豈是人，叫你糟蹋嗎？

「 nǐ ruò xǔ jiǔ wéi kùn 、 gōng dǎ suǒ yào qǔ de yí zuò chéng ， jiù bù kě jǔ fǔ zǐ kǎn huài shù mù ； yīn wèi nǐ kě yǐ chī nà shù shàng de guǒ zǐ ， bù kě kǎn fá 。 tián jiān de shù mù qǐ shì rén ， jiào nǐ zāo tà ma ？

When you shall besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, you shall not destroy its trees by wielding an ax against them; for you may eat of them. You shall not cut them down, for is the tree of the field man, that it should be besieged by you?

惟獨你所知道不是結果子的樹木可以毀壞、砍伐，用以修築營壘，攻擊那與你打仗的城，直到攻塌了。」

wéi dú nǐ suǒ zhī dào bú shì jié guǒ zǐ de shù mù kě yǐ huǐ huài 、 kǎn fá ， yòng yǐ xiū zhù yíng lěi ， gōng jī nà yǔ nǐ dǎ zhàng de chéng ， zhí dào gōng tā le 。」

Only the trees that you know are not trees for food, you shall destroy and cut them down. You shall build bulwarks against the city that makes war with you, until it falls.
