xī lǜ jiù xiǎng yào shā tā ， zhǐ shì pà bǎi xìng ， yīn wèi tā men yǐ yuē hàn wèi xiān zhī 。
When he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.
