馬太福音 2

當希律王的時候，耶穌生在猶太的伯利恆。有幾個博士從東方來到耶路撒冷，說：

dāng xī lǜ wáng de shí hòu ， yē sū shēng zài yóu tài de bó lì héng 。 yǒu jǐ gè bó shì cóng dōng fāng lái dào yē lù sā lěng ， shuō ：

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying,

「那生下來作猶太人之王的在哪裏？我們在東方看見他的星，特來拜他。」

「 nà shēng xià lái zuò yóu tài rén zhī wáng de zài nǎ lǐ ？ wǒ men zài dōng fāng kàn jiàn tā de xīng ， tè lái bài tā 。」

“Where is he who is born King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.”

希律王聽見了，就心裏不安；耶路撒冷合城的人也都不安。

xī lǜ wáng tīng jiàn le ， jiù xīn lǐ bù ān ； yē lù sā lěng hé chéng de rén yě dōu bù ān 。

When King Herod heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

他就召齊了祭司長和民間的文士，問他們說：「基督當生在何處？」

tā jiù zhào qí le jì sī zhǎng hé mín jiān de wén shì ， wèn tā men shuō ：「 jī dū dāng shēng zài hé chù ？」

Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ would be born.

他們回答說：「在猶太的伯利恆。因為有先知記着，說：

tā men huí dá shuō ：「 zài yóu tài de bó lì héng 。 yīn wèi yǒu xiān zhī jì zhe ， shuō ：

They said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for this is written through the prophet,

猶大地的伯利恆啊， 你在猶大諸城中並不是最小的； 因為將來有一位君王要從你那裏出來， 牧養我以色列民。」

yóu dà dì de bó lì héng a ， nǐ zài yóu dà zhū chéng zhōng bìng bú shì zuì xiǎo de ； yīn wèi jiāng lái yǒu yí wèi jūn wáng yào cóng nǐ nà lǐ chū lái ， mù yǎng wǒ yǐ sè liè mín 。」

‘You Bethlehem, land of Judah, are in no way least among the princes of Judah; for out of you shall come a governor who shall shepherd my people, Israel.’”

當下，希律暗暗地召了博士來，細問那星是甚麼時候出現的，

dāng xià ， xī lǜ àn àn dì zhào le bó shì lái ， xì wèn nà xīng shì shén me shí hòu chū xiàn de ，

Then Herod secretly called the wise men, and learned from them exactly what time the star appeared.

就差他們往伯利恆去，說：「你們去仔細尋訪那小孩子，尋到了就來報信，我也好去拜他。」

jiù chà tā men wǎng bó lì héng qù ， shuō ：「 nǐ men qù zǐ xì xún fǎng nà xiǎo hái zi ， xún dào le jiù lái bào xìn ， wǒ yě hǎo qù bài tā 。」

He sent them to Bethlehem, and said, “Go and search diligently for the young child. When you have found him, bring me word, so that I also may come and worship him.”

他們聽見王的話就去了。在東方所看見的那星忽然在他們前頭行，直行到小孩子的地方，就在上頭停住了。

tā men tīng jiàn wáng de huà jiù qù le 。 zài dōng fāng suǒ kàn jiàn de nà xīng hū rán zài tā men qián tou xíng ， zhí xíng dào xiǎo hái zi de dì fāng ， jiù zài shàng tóu tíng zhù le 。

They, having heard the king, went their way; and behold, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them until it came and stood over where the young child was.

他們看見那星，就大大地歡喜；

tā men kàn jiàn nà xīng ， jiù dà dà dì huān xǐ ；

When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.

進了房子，看見小孩子和他母親馬利亞，就俯伏拜那小孩子，揭開寶盒，拿黃金、乳香、沒藥為禮物獻給他。

jìn le fáng zi ， kàn jiàn xiǎo hái zi hé tā mǔ qīn mǎ lì yà ， jiù fǔ fú bài nà xiǎo hái zi ， jiē kāi bǎo hé ， ná huáng jīn 、 rǔ xiāng 、 mò yào wèi lǐ wù xiàn gěi tā 。

They came into the house and saw the young child with Mary, his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Opening their treasures, they offered to him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

博士因為在夢中被主指示不要回去見希律，就從別的路回本地去了。

bó shì yīn wèi zài mèng zhōng bèi zhǔ zhǐ shì bú yào huí qù jiàn xī lǜ ， jiù cóng bié de lù huí běn dì qù le 。

Being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they went back to their own country another way.

他們去後，有主的使者向約瑟夢中顯現，說：「起來！帶着小孩子同他母親逃往埃及，住在那裏，等我吩咐你；因為希律必尋找小孩子，要除滅他。」

tā men qù hòu ， yǒu zhǔ de shǐ zhě xiàng yuē sè mèng zhōng xiǎn xiàn ， shuō ：「 qǐ lái ！ dài zhe xiǎo hái zi tóng tā mǔ qīn táo wǎng āi jí ， zhù zài nà lǐ ， děng wǒ fēn fù nǐ ； yīn wèi xī lǜ bì xún zhǎo xiǎo hái zi ， yào chú miè tā 。」

Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.”

約瑟就起來，夜間帶着小孩子和他母親往埃及去，

yuē sè jiù qǐ lái ， yè jiān dài zhe xiǎo hái zi hé tā mǔ qīn wǎng āi jí qù ，

He arose and took the young child and his mother by night and departed into Egypt,

住在那裏，直到希律死了。這是要應驗主藉先知所說的話，說：「我從埃及召出我的兒子來。」

zhù zài nà lǐ ， zhí dào xī lǜ sǐ le 。 zhè shì yào yìng yàn zhǔ jiè xiān zhī suǒ shuō de huà ， shuō ：「 wǒ cóng āi jí zhào chū wǒ de ér zi lái 。」

and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called my son.”

希律見自己被博士愚弄，就大大發怒，差人將伯利恆城裏並四境所有的男孩，照着他向博士仔細查問的時候，凡兩歲以裏的，都殺盡了。

xī lǜ jiàn zì jǐ bèi bó shì yú nòng ， jiù dà dà fā nù ， chà rén jiāng bó lì héng chéng lǐ bìng sì jìng suǒ yǒu de nán hái ， zhào zhe tā xiàng bó shì zǐ xì chá wèn de shí hòu ， fán liǎng suì yǐ lǐ de ， dōu shā jìn le 。

Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly angry, and sent out and killed all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all the surrounding countryside, from two years old and under, according to the exact time which he had learned from the wise men.

這就應了先知耶利米的話，說：

zhè jiù yìng le xiān zhī yē lì mǐ de huà ， shuō ：

Then that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying,

在拉瑪聽見號咷大哭的聲音， 是拉結哭她兒女， 不肯受安慰， 因為他們都不在了。

zài lā mǎ tīng jiàn hào táo dà kū de shēng yīn ， shì lā jié kū tā ér nǚ ， bù kěn shòu ān wèi ， yīn wèi tā men dōu bú zài le 。

“A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; she wouldn’t be comforted, because they are no more.”

希律死了以後，有主的使者在埃及向約瑟夢中顯現，說：

xī lǜ sǐ le yǐ hòu ， yǒu zhǔ de shǐ zhě zài āi jí xiàng yuē sè mèng zhōng xiǎn xiàn ， shuō ：

But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying,

「起來！帶着小孩子和他母親往以色列地去，因為要害小孩子性命的人已經死了。」

「 qǐ lái ！ dài zhe xiǎo hái zi hé tā mǔ qīn wǎng yǐ sè liè dì qù ， yīn wèi yào hài xiǎo hái zi xìng mìng de rén yǐ jīng sǐ le 。」

“Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel, for those who sought the young child’s life are dead.”

約瑟就起來，把小孩子和他母親帶到以色列地去；

yuē sè jiù qǐ lái ， bǎ xiǎo hái zi hé tā mǔ qīn dài dào yǐ sè liè dì qù ；

He arose and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.

只因聽見亞基老接着他父親希律作了猶太王，就怕往那裏去，又在夢中被主指示，便往加利利境內去了，

zhī yīn tīng jiàn yà jī lǎo jiē zhe tā fù qīn xī lǜ zuò le yóu tài wáng ， jiù pà wǎng nà lǐ qù ， yòu zài mèng zhōng bèi zhǔ zhǐ shì ， biàn wǎng jiā lì lì jìng nèi qù le ，

But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in the place of his father, Herod, he was afraid to go there. Being warned in a dream, he withdrew into the region of Galilee,

到了一座城，名叫拿撒勒，就住在那裏。這是要應驗先知所說，他將稱為拿撒勒人的話了。

dào le yí zuò chéng ， míng jiào ná sā lè ， jiù zhù zài nà lǐ 。 zhè shì yào yìng yàn xiān zhī suǒ shuō ， tā jiāng chēng wéi ná sā lè rén de huà le 。

and came and lived in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets that he will be called a Nazarene.
