箴言 19

行為純正的貧窮人 勝過乖謬愚妄的富足人。

xíng wéi chún zhèng de pín qióng rén shèng guò guāi miù yú wàng de fù zú rén 。

Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool.

心無知識的，乃為不善； 腳步急快的，難免犯罪。

xīn wú zhī shi de ， nǎi wèi bú shàn ； jiǎo bù jí kuài de ， nán miǎn fàn zuì 。

It isn’t good to have zeal without knowledge, nor being hasty with one’s feet and missing the way.

人的愚昧傾敗他的道； 他的心也抱怨耶和華。

rén de yú mèi qīng bài tā de dào ； tā de xīn yě bào yuàn yē hé huá 。

The foolishness of man subverts his way; his heart rages against the LORD.

財物使朋友增多； 但窮人朋友遠離。

cái wù shǐ péng yǒu zēng duō ； dàn qióng rén péng yǒu yuǎn lí 。

Wealth adds many friends, but the poor is separated from his friend.

作假見證的，必不免受罰； 吐出謊言的，終不能逃脫。

zuò jiǎ jiàn zhèng de ， bì bù miǎn shòu fá ； tǔ chū huǎng yán de ， zhōng bù néng táo tuō 。

A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who pours out lies shall not go free.

好施散的，有多人求他的恩情； 愛送禮的，人都為他的朋友。

hǎo shī sàn de ， yǒu duō rén qiú tā de ēn qíng ； ài sòng lǐ de ， rén dōu wèi tā de péng yǒu 。

Many will entreat the favor of a ruler, and everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts.

貧窮人，弟兄都恨他； 何況他的朋友，更遠離他！ 他用言語追隨，他們卻走了。

pín qióng rén ， dì xiong dōu hèn tā ； hé kuàng tā de péng yǒu ， gèng yuǎn lí tā ！ tā yòng yán yǔ zhuī suí ， tā men què zǒu le 。

All the relatives of the poor shun him; how much more do his friends avoid him! He pursues them with pleas, but they are gone.

得着智慧的，愛惜生命； 保守聰明的，必得好處。

dé zhe zhì huì de ， ài xī shēng mìng ； bǎo shǒu cōng ming de ， bì dé hǎo chù 。

He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good.

作假見證的，不免受罰； 吐出謊言的，也必滅亡。

zuò jiǎ jiàn zhèng de ， bù miǎn shòu fá ； tǔ chū huǎng yán de ， yě bì miè wáng 。

A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who utters lies shall perish.

愚昧人宴樂度日是不合宜的； 何況僕人管轄王子呢？

yú mèi rén yàn lè dù rì shì bù hé yí de ； hé kuàng pú rén guǎn xiá wáng zǐ ne ？

Delicate living is not appropriate for a fool, much less for a servant to have rule over princes.

人有見識就不輕易發怒； 寬恕人的過失便是自己的榮耀。

rén yǒu jiàn shi jiù bù qīng yì fā nù ； kuān shù rén de guò shī biàn shì zì jǐ de róng yào 。

The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense.

王的忿怒好像獅子吼叫； 他的恩典卻如草上的甘露。

wáng de fèn nù hǎo xiàng shī zi hǒu jiào ； tā de ēn diǎn què rú cǎo shàng de gān lù 。

The king’s wrath is like the roaring of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.

愚昧的兒子是父親的禍患； 妻子的爭吵如雨連連滴漏。

yú mèi de ér zi shì fù qīn de huò huàn ； qī zǐ de zhēng chǎo rú yǔ lián lián dī lòu 。

A foolish son is the calamity of his father. A wife’s quarrels are a continual dripping.

房屋錢財是祖宗所遺留的； 惟有賢慧的妻是耶和華所賜的。

fáng wū qián cái shì zǔ zōng suǒ yí liú de ； wéi yǒu xián huì de qī shì yē hé huá suǒ cì de 。

House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the LORD.

懶惰使人沉睡； 懈怠的人必受飢餓。

lǎn duò shǐ rén chén shuì ； xiè dài de rén bì shòu jī è 。

Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep. The idle soul shall suffer hunger.

謹守誡命的，保全生命； 輕忽己路的，必致死亡。

jǐn shǒu jiè mìng de ， bǎo quán shēng mìng ； qīng hū jǐ lù de ， bì zhì sǐ wáng 。

He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, but he who is contemptuous in his ways shall die.

憐憫貧窮的，就是借給耶和華； 他的善行，耶和華必償還。

lián mǐn pín qióng de ， jiù shì jiè gěi yē hé huá ； tā de shàn xíng ， yē hé huá bì cháng huán 。

He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD; he will reward him.

趁有指望，管教你的兒子； 你的心不可任他死亡。

chèn yǒu zhǐ wàng ， guǎn jiào nǐ de ér zi ； nǐ de xīn bù kě rèn tā sǐ wáng 。

Discipline your son, for there is hope; don’t be a willing party to his death.

暴怒的人必受刑罰； 你若救他，必須再救。

bào nù de rén bì shòu xíng fá ； nǐ ruò jiù tā ， bì xū zài jiù 。

A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty, for if you rescue him, you must do it again.

你要聽勸教，受訓誨， 使你終久有智慧。

nǐ yào tīng quàn jiào ， shòu xùn huì ， shǐ nǐ zhōng jiǔ yǒu zhì huì 。

Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter end.

人心多有計謀； 惟有耶和華的籌算才能立定。

rén xīn duō yǒu jì móu ； wéi yǒu yē hé huá de chóu suàn cái néng lì dìng 。

There are many plans in a man’s heart, but the LORD’s counsel will prevail.

施行仁慈的，令人愛慕； 窮人強如說謊言的。

shī xíng rén cí de ， lìng rén ài mù ； qióng rén qiáng rú shuō huǎng yán de 。

That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness. A poor man is better than a liar.

敬畏耶和華的，得着生命； 他必恆久知足，不遭禍患。

jìng wèi yē hé huá de ， dé zhe shēng mìng ； tā bì héng jiǔ zhī zú ， bù zāo huò huàn 。

The fear of the LORD leads to life, then contentment; he rests and will not be touched by trouble.

懶惰人放手在盤子裏， 就是向口撤回，他也不肯。

lǎn duò rén fàng shǒu zài pán zi lǐ ， jiù shì xiàng kǒu chè huí ， tā yě bù kěn 。

The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; he will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.

鞭打褻慢人，愚蒙人必長見識； 責備明哲人，他就明白知識。

biān dǎ xiè màn rén ， yú méng rén bì cháng jiàn shi ； zé bèi míng zhé rén ， tā jiù míng bái zhī shi 。

Flog a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; rebuke one who has understanding, and he will gain knowledge.

虐待父親、攆出母親的， 是貽羞致辱之子。

nüè dài fù qīn 、 niǎn chū mǔ qīn de ， shì yí xiū zhì rǔ zhī zǐ 。

He who robs his father and drives away his mother is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.

我兒，不可聽了教訓 而又偏離知識的言語。

wǒ ér ， bù kě tīng le jiào xùn ér yòu piān lí zhī shi de yán yǔ 。

If you stop listening to instruction, my son, you will stray from the words of knowledge.

匪徒作見證戲笑公平； 惡人的口吞下罪孽。

fěi tú zuò jiàn zhèng xì xiào gōng píng ； è rén de kǒu tūn xià zuì niè 。

A corrupt witness mocks justice, and the mouth of the wicked gulps down iniquity.

刑罰是為褻慢人預備的； 鞭打是為愚昧人的背預備的。

xíng fá shì wèi xiè màn rén yù bèi de ； biān dǎ shì wèi yú mèi rén de bèi yù bèi de 。

Penalties are prepared for scoffers, and beatings for the backs of fools.
