上帝的僕人,耶穌基督的使徒保羅,憑着上帝選民的信心與敬虔真理的知識,

shén de pú rén , yē sū jī dū de shǐ tú bǎo luó , píng zhe shén xuǎn mín de xìn xīn yǔ jìng qián zhēn lǐ de zhī shi ,

Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s chosen ones and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,

盼望那無謊言的上帝在萬古之先所應許的永生,

pàn wàng nà wú huǎng yán de shén zài wàn gǔ zhī xiān suǒ yīng xǔ de yǒng shēng ,

in hope of eternal life, which God, who can’t lie, promised before time began;

到了日期,藉着傳揚的工夫把他的道顯明了;這傳揚的責任是按着上帝-我們救主的命令交託了我。

dào le rì qī , jiè zhe chuán yáng de gōng fū bǎ tā de dào xiǎn míng le ; zhè chuán yáng de zé rèn shì àn zhe shén — wǒ men jiù zhǔ de mìng lìng jiāo tuō le wǒ 。

but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior,

現在寫信給提多,就是照着我們共信之道作我真兒子的。願恩惠、平安從父上帝和我們的救主基督耶穌歸與你!

xiàn zài xiě xìn gěi tí duō , jiù shì zhào zhe wǒ men gòng xìn zhī dào zuò wǒ zhēn ér zi de 。 yuàn ēn huì 、 píng ān cóng fù shén hé wǒ men de jiù zhǔ jī dū yē sū guī yǔ nǐ !

to Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.

我從前留你在克里特,是要你將那沒有辦完的事都辦整齊了,又照我所吩咐你的,在各城設立長老。

wǒ cóng qián liú nǐ zài kè lǐ tè , shì yào nǐ jiāng nà méi yǒu bàn wán de shì dōu bàn zhěng qí le , yòu zhào wǒ suǒ fēn fù nǐ de , zài gè chéng shè lì zhǎng lǎo 。

I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you—

若有無可指責的人,只作一個婦人的丈夫,兒女也是信主的,沒有人告他們是放蕩不服約束的,就可以設立。

ruò yǒu wú kě zhǐ zé de rén , zhī zuò yí gè fù rén de zhàng fu , ér nǚ yě shì xìn zhǔ de , méi yǒu rén gào tā men shì fàng dàng bù fú yuē shù de , jiù kě yǐ shè lì 。

if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior.

監督既是上帝的管家,必須無可指責,不任性,不暴躁,不因酒滋事,不打人,不貪無義之財;

jiān dū jì shì shén de guǎn jiā , bì xū wú kě zhǐ zé , bú rèn xìng , bú bào zào , bù yīn jiǔ zī shì , bù dǎ rén , bù tān wú yì zhī cái ;

For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;

樂意接待遠人,好善,莊重,公平,聖潔自持;

lè yì jiē dài yuǎn rén , hǎo shàn , zhuāng zhòng , gōng píng , shèng jié zì chí ;

but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled,

堅守所教真實的道理,就能將純正的教訓勸化人,又能把爭辯的人駁倒了。

jiān shǒu suǒ jiào zhēn shí de dào lǐ , jiù néng jiāng chún zhèng de jiào xùn quàn huà rén , yòu néng bǎ zhēng biàn de rén bó dǎo le 。

holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.

因為有許多人不服約束,說虛空話欺哄人;那奉割禮的更是這樣。

yīn wèi yǒu xǔ duō rén bù fú yuē shù , shuō xū kōng huà qī hǒng rén ; nà fèng gē lǐ de gèng shì zhè yàng 。

For there are also many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,

這些人的口總要堵住。他們因貪不義之財,將不該教導的教導人,敗壞人的全家。

zhè xiē rén de kǒu zǒng yào dǔ zhù 。 tā men yīn tān bú yì zhī cái , jiāng bù gāi jiào dǎo de jiào dǎo rén , bài huài rén de quán jiā 。

whose mouths must be stopped: men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for dishonest gain’s sake.

有克里特人中的一個本地先知說:「克里特人常說謊話,乃是惡獸,又饞又懶。」

yǒu kè lǐ tè rén zhōng de yí gè běn dì xiān zhī shuō :「 kè lǐ tè rén cháng shuō huǎng huà , nǎi shì è shòu , yòu chán yòu lǎn 。」

One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, and idle gluttons.”

這個見證是真的。所以,你要嚴嚴地責備他們,使他們在真道上純全無疵,

zhè ge jiàn zhèng shì zhēn de 。 suǒ yǐ , nǐ yào yán yán dì zé bèi tā men , shǐ tā men zài zhēn dào shàng chún quán wú cī ,

This testimony is true. For this cause, reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,

不聽猶太人荒渺的言語和離棄真道之人的誡命。

bù tīng yóu tài rén huāng miù de yán yǔ hé lí qì zhēn dào zhī rén de jiè mìng 。

not paying attention to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.

在潔淨的人,凡物都潔淨;在污穢不信的人,甚麼都不潔淨,連心地和天良也都污穢了。

zài jié jìng de rén , fán wù dōu jié jìng ; zài wū huì bú xìn de rén , shén me dōu bù jié jìng , lián xīn dì hé tiān liáng yě dōu wū huì le 。

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.

他們說是認識上帝,行事卻和他相背;本是可憎惡的,是悖逆的,在各樣善事上是可廢棄的。

tā men shuō shì rèn shi shén , xíng shì què hé tā xiāng bèi ; běn shì kě zēng wù de , shì bèi nì de , zài gè yàng shàn shì shàng shì kě fèi qì de 。

They profess that they know God, but by their deeds they deny him, being abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.
