過了許久，到第三年，耶和華的話臨到以利亞說：「你去，使亞哈得見你；我要降雨在地上。」

guò le xǔ jiǔ ， dào dì sān nián ， yē hé huá de huà lín dào yǐ lì yà shuō ：「 nǐ qù ， shǐ yà hā dé jiàn nǐ ； wǒ yào jiàng yǔ zài dì shàng 。」

After many days, the LORD’s word came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, “Go, show yourself to Ahab; and I will send rain on the earth.”

以利亞就去，要使亞哈得見他。那時，撒馬利亞有大饑荒；

yǐ lì yà jiù qù ， yào shǐ yà hā dé jiàn tā 。 nà shí ， sā mǎ lì yà yǒu dà jī huāng ；

Elijah went to show himself to Ahab. The famine was severe in Samaria.

亞哈將他的家宰俄巴底召了來。（俄巴底甚是敬畏耶和華，

yà hā jiāng tā de jiā zǎi é bā dǐ zhào le lái 。（ é bā dǐ shèn shì jìng wèi yē hé huá ，

Ahab called Obadiah, who was over the household. (Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly;

耶洗別殺耶和華眾先知的時候，俄巴底將一百個先知藏了，每五十人藏在一個洞裏，拿餅和水供養他們。）

yē xǐ bié shā yē hé huá zhòng xiān zhī de shí hòu ， é bā dǐ jiāng yì bǎi gè xiān zhī cáng le ， měi wǔ shí rén cáng zài yí gè dòng lǐ ， ná bǐng hé shuǐ gòng yǎng tā men 。）

for when Jezebel cut off the LORD’s prophets, Obadiah took one hundred prophets, and hid them fifty to a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)

亞哈對俄巴底說：「我們走遍這地，到一切水泉旁和一切溪邊，或者找得着青草，可以救活騾馬，免得絕了牲畜。」

yà hā duì é bā dǐ shuō ：「 wǒ men zǒu biàn zhè dì ， dào yí qiè shuǐ quán páng hé yí qiè xī biān ， huò zhě zhǎo dé zhe qīng cǎo ， kě yǐ jiù huó luó mǎ ， miǎn de jué le shēng chù 。」

Ahab said to Obadiah, “Go through the land, to all the springs of water, and to all the brooks. Perhaps we may find grass and save the horses and mules alive, that we not lose all the animals.”

於是二人分地遊行，亞哈獨走一路，俄巴底獨走一路。

yú shì èr rén fēn dì yóu xíng ， yà hā dú zǒu yí lù ， é bā dǐ dú zǒu yí lù 。

So they divided the land between them to pass throughout it. Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.

俄巴底在路上恰與以利亞相遇，俄巴底認出他來，就俯伏在地，說：「你是我主以利亞不是？」

é bā dǐ zài lù shang qià yǔ yǐ lì yà xiāng yù ， é bā dǐ rèn chū tā lái ， jiù fǔ fú zài dì ， shuō ：「 nǐ shì wǒ zhǔ yǐ lì yà bú shì ？」

As Obadiah was on the way, behold, Elijah met him. He recognized him, and fell on his face, and said, “Is it you, my lord Elijah?”

回答說：「是。你去告訴你主人說，以利亞在這裏。」

huí dá shuō ：「 shì 。 nǐ qù gào sù nǐ zhǔ rén shuō ， yǐ lì yà zài zhè lǐ 。」

He answered him, “It is I. Go, tell your lord, ‘Behold, Elijah is here!’”

俄巴底說：「僕人有甚麼罪，你竟要將我交在亞哈手裏，使他殺我呢？

é bā dǐ shuō ：「 pú rén yǒu shén me zuì ， nǐ jìng yào jiāng wǒ jiāo zài yà hā shǒu lǐ ， shǐ tā shā wǒ ne ？

He said, “How have I sinned, that you would deliver your servant into the hand of Ahab, to kill me?

我指着永生耶和華－你的上帝起誓，無論哪一邦哪一國，我主都打發人去找你。若說你沒有在那裏，就必使那邦那國的人起誓說，實在是找不着你。

wǒ zhǐ zhe yǒng shēng yē hé huá — nǐ de shén qǐ shì ， wú lùn nǎ yì bāng nǎ yì guó ， wǒ zhǔ dōu dǎ fā rén qù zhǎo nǐ 。 ruò shuō nǐ méi yǒu zài nà lǐ ， jiù bì shǐ nà bāng nà guó de rén qǐ shì shuō ， shí zài shì zhǎo bù zhe nǐ 。

As the LORD your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent to seek you. When they said, ‘He is not here,’ he took an oath of the kingdom and nation that they didn’t find you.

現在你說，要去告訴你主人說，以利亞在這裏；

xiàn zài nǐ shuō ， yào qù gào sù nǐ zhǔ rén shuō ， yǐ lì yà zài zhè lǐ ；

Now you say, ‘Go, tell your lord, “Behold, Elijah is here.”’

恐怕我一離開你，耶和華的靈就提你到我所不知道的地方去。這樣，我去告訴亞哈，他若找不着你，就必殺我；僕人卻是自幼敬畏耶和華的。

kǒng pà wǒ yì lí kāi nǐ ， yē hé huá de líng jiù tí nǐ dào wǒ suǒ bù zhī dào de dì fāng qù 。 zhè yàng ， wǒ qù gào sù yà hā ， tā ruò zhǎo bù zhe nǐ ， jiù bì shā wǒ ； pú rén què shì zì yòu jìng wèi yē hé huá de 。

It will happen, as soon as I leave you, that the LORD’s Spirit will carry you I don’t know where; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he can’t find you, he will kill me. But I, your servant, have feared the LORD from my youth.

耶洗別殺耶和華眾先知的時候，我將耶和華的一百個先知藏了，每五十人藏在一個洞裏，拿餅和水供養他們，豈沒有人將這事告訴我主嗎？

yē xǐ bié shā yē hé huá zhòng xiān zhī de shí hòu ， wǒ jiāng yē hé huá de yì bǎi gè xiān zhī cáng le ， měi wǔ shí rén cáng zài yí gè dòng lǐ ， ná bǐng hé shuǐ gòng yǎng tā men ， qǐ méi yǒu rén jiāng zhè shì gào sù wǒ zhǔ ma ？

Wasn’t it told my lord what I did when Jezebel killed the LORD’s prophets, how I hid one hundred men of the LORD’s prophets with fifty to a cave, and fed them with bread and water?

現在你說，要去告訴你主人說，以利亞在這裏，他必殺我。」

xiàn zài nǐ shuō ， yào qù gào sù nǐ zhǔ rén shuō ， yǐ lì yà zài zhè lǐ ， tā bì shā wǒ 。」

Now you say, ‘Go, tell your lord, “Behold, Elijah is here”.’ He will kill me.”

以利亞說：「我指着所事奉永生的萬軍之耶和華起誓，我今日必使亞哈得見我。」

yǐ lì yà shuō ：「 wǒ zhǐ zhe suǒ shì fèng yǒng shēng de wàn jūn zhī yē hé huá qǐ shì ， wǒ jīn rì bì shǐ yà hā dé jiàn wǒ 。」

Elijah said, “As the LORD of Armies lives, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself to him today.”

於是俄巴底去迎着亞哈，告訴他；亞哈就去迎着以利亞。

yú shì é bā dǐ qù yíng zhe yà hā ， gào sù tā ； yà hā jiù qù yíng zhe yǐ lì yà 。

So Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him; and Ahab went to meet Elijah.

亞哈見了以利亞，便說：「使以色列遭災的就是你嗎？」

yà hā jiàn le yǐ lì yà ， biàn shuō ：「 shǐ yǐ sè liè zāo zāi de jiù shì nǐ ma ？」

When Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, “Is that you, you troubler of Israel?”

以利亞說：「使以色列遭災的不是我，乃是你和你父家；因為你們離棄耶和華的誡命，去隨從巴力。

yǐ lì yà shuō ：「 shǐ yǐ sè liè zāo zāi de bú shì wǒ ， nǎi shì nǐ hé nǐ fù jiā ； yīn wèi nǐ men lí qì yē hé huá de jiè mìng ， qù suí cóng bā lì 。

He answered, “I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father’s house, in that you have forsaken the LORD’s commandments and you have followed the Baals.

現在你當差遣人，招聚以色列眾人和事奉巴力的那四百五十個先知，並耶洗別所供養事奉亞舍拉的那四百個先知，使他們都上迦密山去見我。」

xiàn zài nǐ dāng chāi qiǎn rén ， zhāo jù yǐ sè liè zhòng rén hé shì fèng bā lì de nà sì bǎi wǔ shí gè xiān zhī ， bìng yē xǐ bié suǒ gòng yǎng shì fèng yà shè lā de nà sì bǎi gè xiān zhī ， shǐ tā men dōu shàng jiā mì shān qù jiàn wǒ 。」

Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel to Mount Carmel, and four hundred fifty of the prophets of Baal, and four hundred of the prophets of the Asherah, who eat at Jezebel’s table.”

亞哈就差遣人招聚以色列眾人和先知都上迦密山。

yà hā jiù chāi qiǎn rén zhāo jù yǐ sè liè zhòng rén hé xiān zhī dōu shàng jiā mì shān 。

So Ahab sent to all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together to Mount Carmel.

以利亞前來對眾民說：「你們心持兩意要到幾時呢？若耶和華是上帝，就當順從耶和華；若巴力是上帝，就當順從巴力。」眾民一言不答。

yǐ lì yà qián lái duì zhòng mín shuō ：「 nǐ men xīn chí liǎng yì yào dào jǐ shí ne ？ ruò yē hé huá shì shén ， jiù dāng shùn cóng yē hé huá ； ruò bā lì shì shén ， jiù dāng shùn cóng bā lì 。」 zhòng mín yì yán bù dá 。

Elijah came near to all the people, and said, “How long will you waver between the two sides? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” The people didn’t say a word.

以利亞對眾民說：「作耶和華先知的只剩下我一個人；巴力的先知卻有四百五十個人。

yǐ lì yà duì zhòng mín shuō ：「 zuò yē hé huá xiān zhī de zhī shèng xià wǒ yí gè rén ； bā lì de xiān zhī què yǒu sì bǎi wǔ shí gè rén 。

Then Elijah said to the people, “I, even I only, am left as a prophet of the LORD; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred fifty men.

當給我們兩隻牛犢，巴力的先知可以挑選一隻，切成塊子，放在柴上，不要點火；我也預備一隻牛犢放在柴上，也不點火。

dāng gěi wǒ men liǎng zhī niú dú ， bā lì de xiān zhī kě yǐ tiāo xuǎn yì zhī ， qiè chéng kuài zǐ ， fàng zài chái shàng ， bú yào diǎn huǒ ； wǒ yě yù bèi yì zhī niú dú fàng zài chái shàng ， yě bù diǎn huǒ 。

Let them therefore give us two bulls; and let them choose one bull for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on the wood, and put no fire under; and I will dress the other bull, and lay it on the wood, and put no fire under it.

你們求告你們神的名，我也求告耶和華的名。那降火顯應的神，就是上帝。」眾民回答說：「這話甚好。」

nǐ men qiú gào nǐ men shén de míng ， wǒ yě qiú gào yē hé huá de míng 。 nà jiàng huǒ xiǎn yìng de shén ， jiù shì shén 。」 zhòng mín huí dá shuō ：「 zhè huà shèn hǎo 。」

You call on the name of your god, and I will call on the LORD’s name. The God who answers by fire, let him be God.” All the people answered, “What you say is good.”

以利亞對巴力的先知說：「你們既是人多，當先挑選一隻牛犢，預備好了，就求告你們神的名，卻不要點火。」

yǐ lì yà duì bā lì de xiān zhī shuō ：「 nǐ men jì shì rén duō ， dāng xiān tiāo xuǎn yì zhī niú dú ， yù bèi hǎo le ， jiù qiú gào nǐ men shén de míng ， què bú yào diǎn huǒ 。」

Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, “Choose one bull for yourselves, and dress it first, for you are many; and call on the name of your god, but put no fire under it.”

他們將所得的牛犢預備好了，從早晨到午間，求告巴力的名說：「巴力啊，求你應允我們！」卻沒有聲音，沒有應允的。他們在所築的壇四圍踊跳。

tā men jiāng suǒ dé de niú dú yù bèi hǎo le ， cóng zǎo chén dào wǔ jiān ， qiú gào bā lì de míng shuō ：「 bā lì a ， qiú nǐ yīng yǔn wǒ men ！」 què méi yǒu shēng yīn ， méi yǒu yīng yǔn de 。 tā men zài suǒ zhù de tán sì wéi yǒng tiào 。

They took the bull which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, “Baal, hear us!” But there was no voice, and nobody answered. They leaped about the altar which was made.

到了正午，以利亞嬉笑他們，說：「大聲求告吧！因為他是神，他或默想，或走到一邊，或行路，或睡覺，你們當叫醒他。」

dào le zhèng wǔ ， yǐ lì yà xī xiào tā men ， shuō ：「 dà shēng qiú gào ba ！ yīn wèi tā shì shén ， tā huò mò xiǎng ， huò zǒu dào yì biān ， huò xíng lù ， huò shuì jiào ， nǐ men dāng jiào xǐng tā 。」

At noon, Elijah mocked them, and said, “Cry aloud, for he is a god. Either he is deep in thought, or he has gone somewhere, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he sleeps and must be awakened.”

他們大聲求告，按着他們的規矩，用刀槍自割、自刺，直到身體流血。

tā men dà shēng qiú gào ， àn zhe tā men de guī jǔ ， yòng dāo qiāng zì gē 、 zì cì ， zhí dào shēn tǐ liú xuè 。

They cried aloud, and cut themselves in their way with knives and lances until the blood gushed out on them.

從午後直到獻晚祭的時候，他們狂呼亂叫，卻沒有聲音，沒有應允的，也沒有理會的。

cóng wǔ hòu zhí dào xiàn wǎn jì de shí hòu ， tā men kuáng hū luàn jiào ， què méi yǒu shēng yīn ， méi yǒu yīng yǔn de ， yě méi yǒu lǐ huì de 。

When midday was past, they prophesied until the time of the evening offering; but there was no voice, no answer, and nobody paid attention.

以利亞對眾民說：「你們到我這裏來。」眾民就到他那裏。他便重修已經毀壞耶和華的壇。

yǐ lì yà duì zhòng mín shuō ：「 nǐ men dào wǒ zhè lǐ lái 。」 zhòng mín jiù dào tā nà lǐ 。 tā biàn chóng xiū yǐ jīng huǐ huài yē hé huá de tán 。

Elijah said to all the people, “Come near to me!”; and all the people came near to him. He repaired the LORD’s altar that had been thrown down.

以利亞照雅各子孫支派的數目，取了十二塊石頭（耶和華的話曾臨到雅各說：「你的名要叫以色列」），

yǐ lì yà zhào yǎ gè zǐ sūn zhī pài de shù mù ， qǔ le shí èr kuài shí tou （ yē hé huá de huà céng lín dào yǎ gè shuō ：「 nǐ de míng yào jiào yǐ sè liè 」），

Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the LORD’s word came, saying, “Israel shall be your name.”

用這些石頭為耶和華的名築一座壇，在壇的四圍挖溝，可容穀種二細亞，

yòng zhè xiē shí tou wèi yē hé huá de míng zhù yí zuò tán ， zài tán de sì wéi wā gōu ， kě róng gǔ zhǒng èr xì yà ，

With the stones he built an altar in the LORD’s name. He made a trench around the altar large enough to contain two seahs of seed.

又在壇上擺好了柴，把牛犢切成塊子放在柴上，對眾人說：「你們用四個桶盛滿水，倒在燔祭和柴上」；

yòu zài tán shàng bǎi hǎo le chái ， bǎ niú dú qiè chéng kuài zǐ fàng zài chái shàng ， duì zhòng rén shuō ：「 nǐ men yòng sì gè tǒng shèng mǎn shuǐ ， dǎo zài fán jì hé chái shàng 」；

He put the wood in order, and cut the bull in pieces and laid it on the wood. He said, “Fill four jars with water, and pour it on the burnt offering and on the wood.”

又說：「倒第二次。」他們就倒第二次；又說：「倒第三次。」他們就倒第三次。

yòu shuō ：「 dǎo dì èr cì 。」 tā men jiù dǎo dì èr cì ； yòu shuō ：「 dǎo dì sān cì 。」 tā men jiù dǎo dì sān cì 。

He said, “Do it a second time;” and they did it the second time. He said, “Do it a third time;” and they did it the third time.

水流在壇的四圍，溝裏也滿了水。

shuǐ liú zài tán de sì wéi ， gōu lǐ yě mǎn le shuǐ 。

The water ran around the altar; and he also filled the trench with water.

到了獻晚祭的時候，先知以利亞近前來，說：「亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的上帝，耶和華啊，求你今日使人知道你是以色列的上帝，也知道我是你的僕人，又是奉你的命行這一切事。

dào le xiàn wǎn jì de shí hòu ， xiān zhī yǐ lì yà jìn qián lái ， shuō ：「 yà bó lā hǎn 、 yǐ sā 、 yǐ sè liè de shén ， yē hé huá a ， qiú nǐ jīn rì shǐ rén zhī dào nǐ shì yǐ sè liè de shén ， yě zhī dào wǒ shì nǐ de pú rén ， yòu shì fèng nǐ de mìng xíng zhè yí qiè shì 。

At the time of the evening offering, Elijah the prophet came near and said, “LORD, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word.

耶和華啊，求你應允我，應允我！使這民知道你－耶和華是上帝，又知道是你叫這民的心回轉。」

yē hé huá a ， qiú nǐ yīng yǔn wǒ ， yīng yǔn wǒ ！ shǐ zhè mín zhī dào nǐ — yē hé huá shì shén ， yòu zhī dào shì nǐ jiào zhè mín de xīn huí zhuǎn 。」

Hear me, LORD, hear me, that this people may know that you, LORD, are God, and that you have turned their heart back again.”

於是，耶和華降下火來，燒盡燔祭、木柴、石頭、塵土，又燒乾溝裏的水。

yú shì ， yē hé huá jiàng xià huǒ lái ， shāo jìn fán jì 、 mù chái 、 shí tou 、 chén tǔ ， yòu shāo gān gōu lǐ de shuǐ 。

Then the LORD’s fire fell and consumed the burnt offering, the wood, the stones, and the dust; and it licked up the water that was in the trench.

眾民看見了，就俯伏在地，說：「耶和華是上帝！耶和華是上帝！」

zhòng mín kàn jiàn le ， jiù fǔ fú zài dì ， shuō ：「 yē hé huá shì shén ！ yē hé huá shì shén ！」

When all the people saw it, they fell on their faces. They said, “The LORD, he is God! The LORD, he is God!”

以利亞對他們說：「拿住巴力的先知，不容一人逃脫！」眾人就拿住他們。以利亞帶他們到基順河邊，在那裏殺了他們。

yǐ lì yà duì tā men shuō ：「 ná zhù bā lì de xiān zhī ， bù róng yì rén táo tuō ！」 zhòng rén jiù ná zhù tā men 。 yǐ lì yà dài tā men dào jī shùn hé biān ， zài nà lǐ shā le tā men 。

Elijah said to them, “Seize the prophets of Baal! Don’t let one of them escape!” They seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and killed them there.

以利亞對亞哈說：「你現在可以上去吃喝，因為有多雨的響聲了。」

yǐ lì yà duì yà hā shuō ：「 nǐ xiàn zài kě yǐ shàng qù chī hē ， yīn wèi yǒu duō yǔ de xiǎng shēng le 。」

Elijah said to Ahab, “Get up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.”

亞哈就上去吃喝。以利亞上了迦密山頂，屈身在地，將臉伏在兩膝之中；

yà hā jiù shàng qù chī hē 。 yǐ lì yà shàng le jiā mì shān dǐng ， qū shēn zài dì ， jiāng liǎn fú zài liǎng xī zhī zhōng ；

So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he bowed himself down on the earth, and put his face between his knees.

對僕人說：「你上去，向海觀看。」僕人就上去觀看，說：「沒有甚麼。」他說：「你再去觀看。」如此七次。

duì pú rén shuō ：「 nǐ shàng qù ， xiàng hǎi guān kàn 。」 pú rén jiù shàng qù guān kàn ， shuō ：「 méi yǒu shén me 。」 tā shuō ：「 nǐ zài qù guān kàn 。」 rú cǐ qī cì 。

He said to his servant, “Go up now and look toward the sea.” He went up and looked, then said, “There is nothing.” He said, “Go again” seven times.

第七次僕人說：「我看見有一小片雲從海裏上來，不過如人手那樣大。」以利亞說：「你上去告訴亞哈，當套車下去，免得被雨阻擋。」

dì qī cì pú rén shuō ：「 wǒ kàn jiàn yǒu yì xiǎo piàn yún cóng hǎi lǐ shàng lái ， bú guò rú rén shǒu nà yàng dà 。」 yǐ lì yà shuō ：「 nǐ shàng qù gào sù yà hā ， dāng tào chē xià qù ， miǎn de bèi yǔ zǔ dǎng 。」

On the seventh time, he said, “Behold, a small cloud, like a man’s hand, is rising out of the sea.” He said, “Go up, tell Ahab, ‘Get ready and go down, so that the rain doesn’t stop you.’”

霎時間，天因風雲黑暗，降下大雨。亞哈就坐車往耶斯列去了。

shà shí jiān ， tiān yīn fēng yún hēi àn ， jiàng xià dà yǔ 。 yà hā jiù zuò chē wǎng yē sī liè qù le 。

In a little while, the sky grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

耶和華的靈 降在以利亞身上，他就束上腰，奔在亞哈前頭，直到耶斯列的城門。

yē hé huá de líng jiàng zài yǐ lì yà shēn shàng ， tā jiù shù shàng yāo ， bēn zài yà hā qián tou ， zhí dào yē sī liè de chéng mén 。

The LORD’s hand was on Elijah; and he tucked his cloak into his belt and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
