suǒ yǐ , nǐ men jì chú qù yí qiè de è dú 、 guǐ zhà , bìng jiǎ shàn 、 jí dù , hé yí qiè huǐ bàng de huà ,
Putting away therefore all wickedness, all deceit, hypocrisies, envies, and all evil speaking,
jiù yào ài mù nà chún jìng de líng nǎi , xiàng cái shēng de yīng hái ài mù nǎi yí yàng , jiào nǐ men yīn cǐ jiàn cháng , yǐ zhì dé jiù 。
as newborn babies, long for the pure spiritual milk, that with it you may grow,
nǐ men ruò cháng guò zhǔ ēn de zī wèi , jiù bì rú cǐ 。
if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
zhǔ nǎi huó shí , gù rán shì bèi rén suǒ qì de , què shì bèi shén suǒ jiǎn xuǎn 、 suǒ bǎo guì de 。
Come to him, a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God, precious.
nǐ men lái dào zhǔ miàn qián , yě jiù xiàng huó shí , bèi jiàn zào chéng wéi líng gōng , zuò shèng jié de jì sī , jiè zhe yē sū jī dū fèng xiàn shén suǒ yuè nà de líng jì 。
You also as living stones are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
yīn wèi jīng shàng shuō : kàn nǎ , wǒ bǎ suǒ jiǎn xuǎn 、 suǒ bǎo guì de fáng jiǎo shí ān fàng zài xī ān ; xìn kào tā de rén bì bú zhì yú xiū kuì 。
Because it is contained in Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, chosen and precious. He who believes in him will not be disappointed.”
suǒ yǐ , tā zài nǐ men xìn de rén jiù wèi bǎo guì , zài nà bú xìn de rén yǒu huà shuō : jiàng rén suǒ qì de shí tou yǐ zuò le fáng jiǎo de tóu kuài shí tou 。
For you who believe therefore is the honor, but for those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,”
yòu shuō : zuò le bàn jiǎo de shí tou , diē rén de pán shí 。 tā men jì bú shùn cóng , jiù zài dào lǐ shàng bàn diē ; tā men zhè yàng bàn diē yě shì yù dìng de 。
and, “a stumbling stone and a rock of offense.” For they stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed.
wéi yǒu nǐ men shì bèi jiǎn xuǎn de zú lèi , shì yǒu jūn zūn de jì sī , shì shèng jié de guó dù , shì shǔ shén de zǐ mín , yào jiào nǐ men xuān yáng nà zhào nǐ men chū hēi àn rù qí miào guāng míng zhě de měi dé 。
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
nǐ men cóng qián suàn bù dé zǐ mín , xiàn zài què zuò le shén de zǐ mín ; cóng qián wèi céng méng lián xù , xiàn zài què méng le lián xù 。
In the past, you were not a people, but now are God’s people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
qīn ài de dì xiong a , nǐ men shì kè lǚ , shì jì jū de 。 wǒ quàn nǐ men yào jìn jiè ròu tǐ de sī yù ; zhè sī yù shì yǔ líng hún zhēng zhàn de 。
Beloved, I beg you as foreigners and pilgrims to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,
nǐ men zài wài bāng rén zhōng , yīng dāng pǐn xíng duān zhèng , jiào nà xiē huǐ bàng nǐ men shì zuò è de , yīn kàn jiàn nǐ men de hǎo xíng wéi , biàn zài jiàn chá de rì zi guī róng yào gěi shén 。
having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good works and glorify God in the day of visitation.
nǐ men wéi zhǔ de yuán gù , yào shùn fú rén de yí qiè zhì dù , huò shì zài shàng de jūn wáng ,
Therefore subject yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether to the king, as supreme,
huò shì jūn wáng suǒ pài fá è shǎng shàn de chén zǎi 。
or to governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evildoers and for praise to those who do well.
yīn wèi shén de zhǐ yì yuán shì yào nǐ men xíng shàn , kě yǐ dǔ zhù nà hú tú wú zhī rén de kǒu 。
For this is the will of God, that by well-doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.
nǐ men suī shì zì yóu de , què bù kě jiè zhe zì yóu zhē gài è dú , zǒng yào zuò shén de pú rén 。
Live as free people, yet not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.
wù yào zūn jìng zhòng rén , qīn ài jiào zhōng de dì xiong , jìng wèi shén , zūn jìng jūn wáng 。
Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
nǐ men zuò pú rén de , fán shì yào cún jìng wèi de xīn shùn fú zhǔ rén ; bú dàn shùn fú nà shàn liáng wēn hé de , jiù shì nà guāi pì de yě yào shùn fú 。
Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the wicked.
tǎng ruò rén wèi jiào liáng xīn duì de zhù shén , jiù rěn shòu yuān qū de kǔ chǔ , zhè shì kě xǐ ài de 。
For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.
nǐ men ruò yīn fàn zuì shòu zé dǎ , néng rěn nài , yǒu shén me kě kuā de ne ? dàn nǐ men ruò yīn xíng shàn shòu kǔ , néng rěn nài , zhè zài shén kàn shì kě xǐ ài de 。
For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.
nǐ men méng zhào yuán shì wèi cǐ ; yīn jī dū yě wèi nǐ men shòu guò kǔ , gěi nǐ men liú xià bǎng yàng , jiào nǐ men gēn suí tā de jiǎo zōng xíng 。
For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,
tā bìng méi yǒu fàn zuì , kǒu lǐ yě méi yǒu guǐ zhà 。
who didn’t sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.”
tā bèi mà bù hái kǒu ; shòu hài bù shuō wēi hè de huà , zhī jiāng zì jǐ jiāo tuō nà àn gōng yì shěn pàn rén de zhǔ 。
When he was cursed, he didn’t curse back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.
tā bèi guà zài mù tou shàng , qīn shēn dān dāng le wǒ men de zuì , shǐ wǒ men jì rán zài zuì shàng sǐ , jiù dé yǐ zài yì shàng huó 。 yīn tā shòu de biān shāng , nǐ men biàn dé le yī zhì 。
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds.
nǐ men cóng qián hǎo xiàng mí lù de yáng , rú jīn què guī dào nǐ men líng hún de mù rén jiān dū le 。
For you were going astray like sheep; but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
