出埃及記 21

「你在百姓面前所要立的典章是這樣：

「 nǐ zài bǎi xìng miàn qián suǒ yào lì de diǎn zhāng shì zhè yàng ：

“Now these are the ordinances which you shall set before them:

你若買希伯來人作奴僕，他必服事你六年；第七年他可以自由，白白地出去。

nǐ ruò mǎi xī bó lái rén zuò nú pú ， tā bì fú shì nǐ liù nián ； dì qī nián tā kě yǐ zì yóu ， bái bái dì chū qù 。

“If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years, and in the seventh he shall go out free without paying anything.

他若孤身來就可以孤身去；他若有妻，他的妻就可以同他出去。

tā ruò gū shēn lái jiù kě yǐ gū shēn qù ； tā ruò yǒu qī ， tā de qī jiù kě yǐ tóng tā chū qù 。

If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he is married, then his wife shall go out with him.

他主人若給他妻子，妻子給他生了兒子或女兒，妻子和兒女要歸主人，他要獨自出去。

tā zhǔ rén ruò gěi tā qī zǐ ， qī zǐ gěi tā shēng le ér zi huò nǚ ér ， qī zǐ hé ér nǚ yào guī zhǔ rén ， tā yào dú zì chū qù 。

If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.

倘或奴僕明說：『我愛我的主人和我的妻子兒女，不願意自由出去。』

tǎng huò nú pú míng shuō ：『 wǒ ài wǒ de zhǔ rén hé wǒ de qī zǐ ér nǚ ， bú yuàn yì zì yóu chū qù 。』

But if the servant shall plainly say, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children. I will not go out free;’

他的主人就要帶他到審判官 那裏，又要帶他到門前，靠近門框，用錐子穿他的耳朵，他就永遠服事主人。

tā de zhǔ rén jiù yào dài tā dào shěn pàn guān nà lǐ ， yòu yào dài tā dào mén qián ， kào jìn mén kuàng ， yòng zhuī zǐ chuān tā de ěr duo ， tā jiù yǒng yuǎn fú shì zhǔ rén 。

then his master shall bring him to God, and shall bring him to the door or to the doorpost, and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall serve him forever.

「人若賣女兒作婢女，婢女不可像男僕那樣出去。

「 rén ruò mài nǚ ér zuò bì nǚ ， bì nǚ bù kě xiàng nán pú nà yàng chū qù 。

“If a man sells his daughter to be a female servant, she shall not go out as the male servants do.

主人選定她歸自己，若不喜歡她，就要許她贖身；主人既然用詭詐待她，就沒有權柄賣給外邦人。

zhǔ rén xuǎn dìng tā guī zì jǐ ， ruò bù xǐ huan tā ， jiù yào xǔ tā shú shēn ； zhǔ rén jì rán yòng guǐ zhà dài tā ， jiù méi yǒu quán bǐng mài gěi wài bāng rén 。

If she doesn’t please her master, who has married her to himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has dealt deceitfully with her.

主人若選定她給自己的兒子，就當待她如同女兒。

zhǔ rén ruò xuǎn dìng tā gěi zì jǐ de ér zi ， jiù dāng dài tā rú tóng nǚ ér 。

If he marries her to his son, he shall deal with her as a daughter.

若另娶一個，那女子的吃食、衣服，並好合的事，仍不可減少。

ruò lìng qǔ yí gè ， nà nǚ zǐ de chī shí 、 yī fu ， bìng hǎo hé de shì ， réng bù kě jiǎn shǎo 。

If he takes another wife to himself, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, and her marital rights.

若不向她行這三樣，她就可以不用錢贖，白白地出去。」

ruò bú xiàng tā xíng zhè sān yàng ， tā jiù kě yǐ bú yòng qián shú ， bái bái dì chū qù 。」

If he doesn’t do these three things for her, she may go free without paying any money.

「打人以致打死的，必要把他治死。

「 dǎ rén yǐ zhì dǎ sǐ de ， bì yào bǎ tā zhì sǐ 。

“One who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death,

人若不是埋伏着殺人，乃是上帝交在他手中，我就設下一個地方，他可以往那裏逃跑。

rén ruò bú shì mái fú zhe shā rén ， nǎi shì shén jiāo zài tā shǒu zhōng ， wǒ jiù shè xià yí gè dì fāng ， tā kě yǐ wǎng nà lǐ táo pǎo 。

but not if it is unintentional, but God allows it to happen; then I will appoint you a place where he shall flee.

人若任意用詭計殺了他的鄰舍，就是逃到我的壇那裏，也當捉去把他治死。

rén ruò rèn yì yòng guǐ jì shā le tā de lín shè ， jiù shì táo dào wǒ de tán nà lǐ ， yě dāng zhuō qù bǎ tā zhì sǐ 。

If a man schemes and comes presumptuously on his neighbor to kill him, you shall take him from my altar, that he may die.

「打父母的，必要把他治死。

「 dǎ fù mǔ de ， bì yào bǎ tā zhì sǐ 。

“Anyone who attacks his father or his mother shall be surely put to death.

「拐帶人口，或是把人賣了，或是留在他手下，必要把他治死。

「 guǎi dài rén kǒu ， huò shì bǎ rén mài le ， huò shì liú zài tā shǒu xià ， bì yào bǎ tā zhì sǐ 。

“Anyone who kidnaps someone and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

「咒罵父母的，必要把他治死。

「 zhòu mà fù mǔ de ， bì yào bǎ tā zhì sǐ 。

“Anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.

「人若彼此相爭，這個用石頭或是拳頭打那個，尚且不至於死，不過躺臥在床，

「 rén ruò bǐ cǐ xiāng zhēng ， zhè ge yòng shí tou huò shì quán tou dǎ nà ge ， shàng qiě bú zhì yú sǐ ， bú guò tǎng wò zài chuáng ，

“If men quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone, or with his fist, and he doesn’t die, but is confined to bed;

若再能起來扶杖而出，那打他的可算無罪；但要將他耽誤的工夫用錢賠補，並要將他全然醫好。

ruò zài néng qǐ lái fú zhàng ér chū ， nà dǎ tā de kě suàn wú zuì ； dàn yào jiāng tā dān wù de gōng fū yòng qián péi bǔ ， bìng yào jiāng tā quán rán yī hǎo 。

if he rises again and walks around with his staff, then he who struck him shall be cleared; only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall provide for his healing until he is thoroughly healed.

「人若用棍子打奴僕或婢女，立時死在他的手下，他必要受刑。

「 rén ruò yòng gùn zi dǎ nú pú huò bì nǚ ， lì shí sǐ zài tā de shǒu xià ， tā bì yào shòu xíng 。

“If a man strikes his servant or his maid with a rod, and he dies under his hand, the man shall surely be punished.

若過一兩天才死，就可以不受刑，因為是用錢買的。

ruò guò yì liǎng tiān cái sǐ ， jiù kě yǐ bú shòu xíng ， yīn wèi shì yòng qián mǎi de 。

Notwithstanding, if his servant gets up after a day or two, he shall not be punished, for the servant is his property.

「人若彼此爭鬥，傷害有孕的婦人，甚至墜胎，隨後卻無別害，那傷害她的，總要按婦人的丈夫所要的，照審判官所斷的，受罰。

「 rén ruò bǐ cǐ zhēng dòu ， shāng hài yǒu yùn de fù rén ， shèn zhì zhuì tāi ， suí hòu què wú bié hài ， nà shāng hài tā de ， zǒng yào àn fù rén de zhàng fu suǒ yào de ， zhào shěn pàn guān suǒ duàn de ， shòu fá 。

“If men fight and hurt a pregnant woman so that she gives birth prematurely, and yet no harm follows, he shall be surely fined as much as the woman’s husband demands and the judges allow.

若有別害，就要以命償命，

ruò yǒu bié hài ， jiù yào yǐ mìng cháng mìng ，

But if any harm follows, then you must take life for life,

以眼還眼，以牙還牙，以手還手，以腳還腳，

yǐ yǎn huán yǎn ， yǐ yá huán yá ， yǐ shǒu huán shǒu ， yǐ jiǎo hái jiǎo ，

eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

以烙還烙，以傷還傷，以打還打。

yǐ lào hái lào ， yǐ shāng hái shāng ， yǐ dǎ hái dǎ 。

burning for burning, wound for wound, and bruise for bruise.

「人若打壞了他奴僕或是婢女的一隻眼，就要因他的眼放他去得以自由。

「 rén ruò dǎ huài le tā nú pú huò shì bì nǚ de yì zhī yǎn ， jiù yào yīn tā de yǎn fàng tā qù dé yǐ zì yóu 。

“If a man strikes his servant’s eye, or his maid’s eye, and destroys it, he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.

若打掉了他奴僕或是婢女的一個牙，就要因他的牙放他去得以自由。」

ruò dǎ diào le tā nú pú huò shì bì nǚ de yí gè yá ， jiù yào yīn tā de yá fàng tā qù dé yǐ zì yóu 。」

If he strikes out his male servant’s tooth, or his female servant’s tooth, he shall let the servant go free for his tooth’s sake.

「牛若觸死男人或是女人，總要用石頭打死那牛，卻不可吃牠的肉；牛的主人可算無罪。

「 niú ruò chù sǐ nán rén huò shì nǚ rén ， zǒng yào yòng shí tou dǎ sǐ nà niú ， què bù kě chī tā de ròu ； niú de zhǔ rén kě suàn wú zuì 。

“If a bull gores a man or a woman to death, the bull shall surely be stoned, and its meat shall not be eaten; but the owner of the bull shall not be held responsible.

倘若那牛素來是觸人的，有人報告了牛主，他竟不把牛拴着，以致把男人或是女人觸死，就要用石頭打死那牛，牛主也必治死。

tǎng ruò nà niú sù lái shì chù rén de ， yǒu rén bào gào le niú zhǔ ， tā jìng bù bǎ niú shuān zhe ， yǐ zhì bǎ nán rén huò shì nǚ rén chù sǐ ， jiù yào yòng shí tou dǎ sǐ nà niú ， niú zhǔ yě bì zhì sǐ 。

But if the bull had a habit of goring in the past, and this has been testified to its owner, and he has not kept it in, but it has killed a man or a woman, the bull shall be stoned, and its owner shall also be put to death.

若罰他贖命的價銀，他必照所罰的贖他的命。

ruò fá tā shú mìng de jià yín ， tā bì zhào suǒ fá de shú tā de mìng 。

If a ransom is imposed on him, then he shall give for the redemption of his life whatever is imposed.

牛無論觸了人的兒子或是女兒，必照這例辦理。

niú wú lùn chù le rén de ér zi huò shì nǚ ér ， bì zhào zhè lì bàn lǐ 。

Whether it has gored a son or has gored a daughter, according to this judgment it shall be done to him.

牛若觸了奴僕或是婢女，必將銀子三十舍客勒給他們的主人，也要用石頭把牛打死。

niú ruò chù le nú pú huò shì bì nǚ ， bì jiāng yín zi sān shí shè kè lè gěi tā men de zhǔ rén ， yě yào yòng shí tou bǎ niú dǎ sǐ 。

If the bull gores a male servant or a female servant, thirty shekels of silver shall be given to their master, and the ox shall be stoned.

「人若敞着井口，或挖井不遮蓋，有牛或驢掉在裏頭，

「 rén ruò chǎng zhe jǐng kǒu ， huò wā jǐng bù zhē gài ， yǒu niú huò lǘ diào zài lǐ tou ，

“If a man opens a pit, or if a man digs a pit and doesn’t cover it, and a bull or a donkey falls into it,

井主要拿錢賠還本主人，死牲畜要歸自己。

jǐng zhǔ yào ná qián péi huán běn zhǔ rén ， sǐ shēng chù yào guī zì jǐ 。

the owner of the pit shall make it good. He shall give money to its owner, and the dead animal shall be his.

「這人的牛若傷了那人的牛，以至於死，他們要賣了活牛，平分價值，也要平分死牛。

「 zhè rén de niú ruò shāng le nà rén de niú ， yǐ zhì yú sǐ ， tā men yào mài le huó niú ， píng fēn jià zhí ， yě yào píng fēn sǐ niú 。

“If one man’s bull injures another’s, so that it dies, then they shall sell the live bull, and divide its price; and they shall also divide the dead animal.

人若知道這牛素來是觸人的，主人竟不把牛拴着，他必要以牛還牛，死牛要歸自己。」

rén ruò zhī dào zhè niú sù lái shì chù rén de ， zhǔ rén jìng bù bǎ niú shuān zhe ， tā bì yào yǐ niú hái niú ， sǐ niú yào guī zì jǐ 。」

Or if it is known that the bull was in the habit of goring in the past, and its owner has not kept it in, he shall surely pay bull for bull, and the dead animal shall be his own.
