約伯記 1

烏斯地有一個人名叫約伯；那人完全正直，敬畏上帝，遠離惡事。

wū sī dì yǒu yí gè rén míng jiào yuē bó ； nà rén wán quán zhèng zhí ， jìng wèi shén ， yuǎn lí è shì 。

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job. That man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God, and turned away from evil.

他生了七個兒子，三個女兒。

tā shēng le qī gè ér zi ， sān gè nǚ ér 。

There were born to him seven sons and three daughters.

他的家產有七千羊，三千駱駝，五百對牛，五百母驢，並有許多僕婢。這人在東方人中就為至大。

tā de jiā chǎn yǒu qī qiān yáng ， sān qiān luò tuó ， wǔ bǎi duì niú ， wǔ bǎi mǔ lǘ ， bìng yǒu xǔ duō pú bì 。 zhè rén zài dōng fāng rén zhōng jiù wèi zhì dà 。

His possessions also were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the children of the east.

他的兒子按着日子各在自己家裏設擺筵宴，就打發人去，請了他們的三個姊妹來，與他們一同吃喝。

tā de ér zi àn zhe rì zi gè zài zì jǐ jiā lǐ shè bǎi yán yàn ， jiù dǎ fā rén qù ， qǐng le tā men de sān gè zǐ mèi lái ， yǔ tā men yì tóng chī hē 。

His sons went and held a feast in the house of each one on his birthday; and they sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.

筵宴的日子過了，約伯打發人去叫他們自潔。他清早起來，按着他們眾人的數目獻燔祭；因為他說：「恐怕我兒子犯了罪，心中棄掉上帝。」約伯常常這樣行。

yán yàn de rì zi guò le ， yuē bó dǎ fā rén qù jiào tā men zì jié 。 tā qīng zǎo qǐ lái ， àn zhe tā men zhòng rén de shù mù xiàn fán jì ； yīn wèi tā shuō ：「 kǒng pà wǒ ér zi fàn le zuì ， xīn zhōng qì diào shén 。」 yuē bó cháng cháng zhè yàng xíng 。

It was so, when the days of their feasting had run their course, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned, and renounced God in their hearts.” Job did so continually.

有一天，上帝的眾子來侍立在耶和華面前，撒但也來在其中。

yǒu yì tiān ， shén de zhòng zǐ lái shì lì zài yē hé huá miàn qián ， sā dàn yě lái zài qí zhōng 。

Now on the day when God’s sons came to present themselves before the LORD, Satan also came among them.

耶和華問撒但說：「你從哪裏來？」撒但回答說：「我從地上走來走去，往返而來。」

yē hé huá wèn sā dàn shuō ：「 nǐ cóng nǎ lǐ lái ？」 sā dàn huí dá shuō ：「 wǒ cóng dì shàng zǒu lái zǒu qù ， wǎng fǎn ér lái 。」

The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, “From going back and forth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.”

耶和華問撒但說：「你曾用心察看我的僕人約伯沒有？地上再沒有人像他完全正直，敬畏上帝，遠離惡事。」

yē hé huá wèn sā dàn shuō ：「 nǐ céng yòng xīn chá kàn wǒ de pú rén yuē bó méi yǒu ？ dì shàng zài méi yǒu rén xiàng tā wán quán zhèng zhí ， jìng wèi shén ， yuǎn lí è shì 。」

The LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant, Job? For there is no one like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil.”

撒但回答耶和華說：「約伯敬畏上帝，豈是無故呢？

sā dàn huí dá yē hé huá shuō ：「 yuē bó jìng wèi shén ， qǐ shì wú gù ne ？

Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing?

你豈不是四面圈上籬笆圍護他和他的家，並他一切所有的嗎？他手所做的都蒙你賜福；他的家產也在地上增多。

nǐ qǐ bú shì sì miàn quān shàng lí bā wéi hù tā hé tā de jiā ， bìng tā yí qiè suǒ yǒu de ma ？ tā shǒu suǒ zuò de dōu méng nǐ cì fú ； tā de jiā chǎn yě zài dì shàng zēng duō 。

Haven’t you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

你且伸手毀他一切所有的；他必當面棄掉你。」

nǐ qiě shēn shǒu huǐ tā yí qiè suǒ yǒu de ； tā bì dāng miàn qì diào nǐ 。」

But stretch out your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will renounce you to your face.”

耶和華對撒但說：「凡他所有的都在你手中；只是不可伸手加害於他。」於是撒但從耶和華面前退去。

yē hé huá duì sā dàn shuō ：「 fán tā suǒ yǒu de dōu zài nǐ shǒu zhōng ； zhī shì bù kě shēn shǒu jiā hài yú tā 。」 yú shì sā dàn cóng yē hé huá miàn qián tuì qù 。

The LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power. Only on himself don’t stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.

有一天，約伯的兒女正在他們長兄的家裏吃飯喝酒，

yǒu yì tiān ， yuē bó de ér nǚ zhèng zài tā men zhǎng xiōng de jiā lǐ chī fàn hē jiǔ ，

It fell on a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,

有報信的來見約伯，說：「牛正耕地，驢在旁邊吃草，

yǒu bào xìn de lái jiàn yuē bó ， shuō ：「 niú zhèng gēng dì ， lǘ zài páng biān chī cǎo ，

that a messenger came to Job, and said, “The oxen were plowing, and the donkeys feeding beside them,

示巴人忽然闖來，把牲畜擄去，並用刀殺了僕人；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」

shì bā rén hū rán chuǎng lái ， bǎ shēng chù lǔ qù ， bìng yòng dāo shā le pú rén ； wéi yǒu wǒ yì rén táo tuō ， lái bào xìn gěi nǐ 。」

and the Sabeans attacked, and took them away. Yes, they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

他還說話的時候，又有人來說：「上帝從天上降下火來，將群羊和僕人都燒滅了；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」

tā hái shuō huà de shí hòu ， yòu yǒu rén lái shuō ：「 shén cóng tiān shàng jiàng xià huǒ lái ， jiāng qún yáng hé pú rén dōu shāo miè le ； wéi yǒu wǒ yì rén táo tuō ， lái bào xìn gěi nǐ 。」

While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The fire of God has fallen from the sky, and has burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

他還說話的時候，又有人來說：「迦勒底人分作三隊忽然闖來，把駱駝擄去，並用刀殺了僕人；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」

tā hái shuō huà de shí hòu ， yòu yǒu rén lái shuō ：「 jiā lè dǐ rén fēn zuò sān duì hū rán chuǎng lái ， bǎ luò tuó lǔ qù ， bìng yòng dāo shā le pú rén ； wéi yǒu wǒ yì rén táo tuō ， lái bào xìn gěi nǐ 。」

While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The Chaldeans made three bands, and swept down on the camels, and have taken them away, yes, and killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

他還說話的時候，又有人來說：「你的兒女正在他們長兄的家裏吃飯喝酒，

tā hái shuō huà de shí hòu ， yòu yǒu rén lái shuō ：「 nǐ de ér nǚ zhèng zài tā men zhǎng xiōng de jiā lǐ chī fàn hē jiǔ ，

While he was still speaking, there came also another, and said, “Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,

不料，有狂風從曠野颳來，擊打房屋的四角，房屋倒塌在少年人身上，他們就都死了；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」

bú liào ， yǒu kuáng fēng cóng kuàng yě guā lái ， jī dǎ fáng wū de sì jiǎo ， fáng wū dǎo tā zài shào nián rén shēn shàng ， tā men jiù dōu sǐ le ； wéi yǒu wǒ yì rén táo tuō ， lái bào xìn gěi nǐ 。」

and behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young men, and they are dead. I alone have escaped to tell you.”

約伯便起來，撕裂外袍，剃了頭，伏在地上下拜，

yuē bó biàn qǐ lái ， sī liè wài páo ， tì le tóu ， fú zài dì shàng xià bài ，

Then Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down on the ground, and worshiped.

說：「我赤身出於母胎，也必赤身歸回；賞賜的是耶和華，收取的也是耶和華。耶和華的名是應當稱頌的。」

shuō ：「 wǒ chì shēn chū yú mǔ tāi ， yě bì chì shēn guī huí ； shǎng cì de shì yē hé huá ， shōu qǔ de yě shì yē hé huá 。 yē hé huá de míng shì yīng dāng chēng sòng de 。」

He said, “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked will I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the LORD’s name.”

在這一切的事上約伯並不犯罪，也不以上帝為愚妄 。

zài zhè yí qiè de shì shàng yuē bó bìng bú fàn zuì ， yě bù yǐ shén wèi yú wàng 。

In all this, Job didn’t sin, nor charge God with wrongdoing.
