約伯記 4

提幔人以利法回答說：

tí màn rén yǐ lì fǎ huí dá shuō ：

Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered,

人若想與你說話，你就厭煩嗎？ 但誰能忍住不說呢？

rén ruò xiǎng yǔ nǐ shuō huà ， nǐ jiù yàn fán ma ？ dàn shuí néng rěn zhù bù shuō ne ？

“If someone ventures to talk with you, will you be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?

你素來教導許多的人， 又堅固軟弱的手。

nǐ sù lái jiào dǎo xǔ duō de rén ， yòu jiān gù ruǎn ruò de shǒu 。

Behold, you have instructed many, you have strengthened the weak hands.

你的言語曾扶助那將要跌倒的人； 你又使軟弱的膝穩固。

nǐ de yán yǔ céng fú zhù nà jiāng yào diē dǎo de rén ； nǐ yòu shǐ ruǎn ruò de xī wěn gù 。

Your words have supported him who was falling, you have made the feeble knees firm.

但現在禍患臨到你，你就昏迷， 挨近你，你便驚惶。

dàn xiàn zài huò huàn lín dào nǐ ， nǐ jiù hūn mí ， āi jìn nǐ ， nǐ biàn jīng huáng 。

But now it has come to you, and you faint. It touches you, and you are troubled.

你的倚靠不是在你敬畏上帝嗎？ 你的盼望不是在你行事純正嗎？

nǐ de yǐ kào bú shì zài nǐ jìng wèi shén ma ？ nǐ de pàn wàng bú shì zài nǐ xíng shì chún zhèng ma ？

Isn’t your piety your confidence? Isn’t the integrity of your ways your hope?

請你追想：無辜的人有誰滅亡？ 正直的人在何處剪除？

qǐng nǐ zhuī xiǎng ： wú gū de rén yǒu shuí miè wáng ？ zhèng zhí de rén zài hé chù jiǎn chú ？

“Remember, now, who ever perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?

按我所見，耕罪孽、種毒害的人 都照樣收割。

àn wǒ suǒ jiàn ， gēng zuì niè 、 zhǒng dú hài de rén dōu zhào yàng shōu gē 。

According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity and sow trouble, reap the same.

上帝一出氣，他們就滅亡； 上帝一發怒，他們就消沒。

shén yì chū qì ， tā men jiù miè wáng ； shén yì fā nù ， tā men jiù xiāo méi 。

By the breath of God they perish. By the blast of his anger are they consumed.

獅子的吼叫和猛獅的聲音盡都止息； 少壯獅子的牙齒也都敲掉。

shī zi de hǒu jiào hé měng shī de shēng yīn jìn dōu zhǐ xī ； shào zhuàng shī zi de yá chǐ yě dōu qiāo diào 。

The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, the teeth of the young lions, are broken.

老獅子因絕食而死； 母獅之子也都離散。

lǎo shī zi yīn jué shí ér sǐ ； mǔ shī zhī zǐ yě dōu lí sàn 。

The old lion perishes for lack of prey. The cubs of the lioness are scattered abroad.

我暗暗地得了默示； 我耳朵也聽其細微的聲音。

wǒ àn àn dì dé le mò shì ； wǒ ěr duo yě tīng qí xì wēi de shēng yīn 。

“Now a thing was secretly brought to me. My ear received a whisper of it.

在思念夜中、異象之間， 世人沉睡的時候，

zài sī niàn yè zhōng 、 yì xiàng zhī jiān ， shì rén chén shuì de shí hòu ，

In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men,

恐懼、戰兢臨到我身， 使我百骨打戰。

kǒng jù 、 zhàn jīng lín dào wǒ shēn ， shǐ wǒ bǎi gǔ dǎ zhàn 。

fear came on me, and trembling, which made all my bones shake.

有靈從我面前經過， 我身上的毫毛直立。

yǒu líng cóng wǒ miàn qián jīng guò ， wǒ shēn shàng de háo máo zhí lì 。

Then a spirit passed before my face. The hair of my flesh stood up.

那靈停住， 我卻不能辨其形狀； 有影像在我眼前。 我在靜默中聽見有聲音說：

nà líng tíng zhù ， wǒ què bù néng biàn qí xíng zhuàng ； yǒu yǐng xiàng zài wǒ yǎn qián 。 wǒ zài jìng mò zhōng tīng jiàn yǒu shēng yīn shuō ：

It stood still, but I couldn’t discern its appearance. A form was before my eyes. Silence, then I heard a voice, saying,

必死的人豈能比上帝公義嗎？ 人豈能比造他的主潔淨嗎？

bì sǐ de rén qǐ néng bǐ shén gōng yì ma ？ rén qǐ néng bǐ zào tā de zhǔ jié jìng ma ？

‘Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker?

主不信靠他的臣僕， 並且指他的使者為愚昧；

zhǔ bú xìn kào tā de chén pú ， bìng qiě zhǐ tā de shǐ zhě wèi yú mèi ；

Behold, he puts no trust in his servants. He charges his angels with error.

何況那住在土房、根基在塵土裏、 被蠹蟲所毀壞的人呢？

hé kuàng nà zhù zài tǔ fáng 、 gēn jī zài chén tǔ lǐ 、 bèi dù chóng suǒ huǐ huài de rén ne ？

How much more those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth!

早晚之間，就被毀滅， 永歸無有，無人理會。

zǎo wǎn zhī jiān ， jiù bèi huǐ miè ， yǒng guī wú yǒu ， wú rén lǐ huì 。

Between morning and evening they are destroyed. They perish forever without any regarding it.

他帳棚的繩索豈不從中抽出來呢？ 他死，且是無智慧而死。

tā zhàng péng de shéng suǒ qǐ bù cóng zhōng chōu chū lái ne ？ tā sǐ ， qiě shì wú zhì huì ér sǐ 。

Isn’t their tent cord plucked up within them? They die, and that without wisdom.’
