約伯記 8

書亞人比勒達回答說：

shū yà rén bǐ lè dá huí dá shuō ：

Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,

這些話你要說到幾時？ 口中的言語如狂風要到幾時呢？

zhè xiē huà nǐ yào shuō dào jǐ shí ？ kǒu zhōng de yán yǔ rú kuáng fēng yào dào jǐ shí ne ？

“How long will you speak these things? Shall the words of your mouth be a mighty wind?

上帝豈能偏離公平？ 全能者豈能偏離公義？

shén qǐ néng piān lí gōng píng ？ quán néng zhě qǐ néng piān lí gōng yì ？

Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert righteousness?

或者你的兒女得罪了他； 他使他們受報應。

huò zhě nǐ de ér nǚ dé zuì le tā ； tā shǐ tā men shòu bào yìng 。

If your children have sinned against him, he has delivered them into the hand of their disobedience.

你若殷勤地尋求上帝， 向全能者懇求；

nǐ ruò yīn qín dì xún qiú shén ， xiàng quán néng zhě kěn qiú ；

If you want to seek God diligently, make your supplication to the Almighty.

你若清潔正直， 他必定為你起來， 使你公義的居所興旺。

nǐ ruò qīng jié zhèng zhí ， tā bì dìng wèi nǐ qǐ lái ， shǐ nǐ gōng yì de jū suǒ xīng wàng 。

If you were pure and upright, surely now he would awaken for you, and make the habitation of your righteousness prosperous.

你起初雖然微小， 終久必甚發達。

nǐ qǐ chū suī rán wēi xiǎo ， zhōng jiǔ bì shèn fā dá 。

Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would greatly increase.

請你考問前代， 追念他們的列祖所查究的。

qǐng nǐ kǎo wèn qián dài ， zhuī niàn tā men de liè zǔ suǒ chá jiū de 。

“Please inquire of past generations. Find out about the learning of their fathers.

我們不過從昨日才有，一無所知； 我們在世的日子好像影兒。

wǒ men bú guò cóng zuó rì cái yǒu ， yì wú suǒ zhī ； wǒ men zài shì de rì zi hǎo xiàng yǐng ér 。

(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow.)

他們豈不指教你，告訴你， 從心裏發出言語來呢？

tā men qǐ bù zhǐ jiào nǐ ， gào sù nǐ ， cóng xīn lǐ fā chū yán yǔ lái ne ？

Shall they not teach you, tell you, and utter words out of their heart?

蒲草沒有泥豈能發長？ 蘆荻沒有水豈能生發？

pú cǎo méi yǒu ní qǐ néng fā cháng ？ lú dí méi yǒu shuǐ qǐ néng shēng fà ？

“Can the papyrus grow up without mire? Can the rushes grow without water?

尚青的時候，還沒有割下， 比百樣的草先枯槁。

shàng qīng de shí hòu ， hái méi yǒu gē xià ， bǐ bǎi yàng de cǎo xiān kū gǎo 。

While it is yet in its greenness, not cut down, it withers before any other reed.

凡忘記上帝的人，景況也是這樣； 不虔敬人的指望要滅沒。

fán wàng jì shén de rén ， jǐng kuàng yě shì zhè yàng ； bù qián jìng rén de zhǐ wàng yào miè méi 。

So are the paths of all who forget God. The hope of the godless man will perish,

他所仰賴的必折斷； 他所倚靠的是蜘蛛網。

tā suǒ yǎng lài de bì zhé duàn ； tā suǒ yǐ kào de shì zhī zhū wǎng 。

whose confidence will break apart, whose trust is a spider’s web.

他要倚靠房屋，房屋卻站立不住； 他要抓住房屋，房屋卻不能存留。

tā yào yǐ kào fáng wū ， fáng wū què zhàn lì bú zhù ； tā yào zhuā zhù fáng wū ， fáng wū què bù néng cún liú 。

He will lean on his house, but it will not stand. He will cling to it, but it will not endure.

他在日光之下發青， 蔓子爬滿了園子；

tā zài rì guāng zhī xià fā qīng ， màn zǐ pá mǎn le yuán zǐ ；

He is green before the sun. His shoots go out along his garden.

他的根盤繞石堆， 扎入石地。

tā de gēn pán rào shí duī ， zhā rù shí dì 。

His roots are wrapped around the rock pile. He sees the place of stones.

他若從本地被拔出， 那地就不認識他，說： 我沒有見過你。

tā ruò cóng běn dì bèi bá chū ， nà dì jiù bú rèn shi tā ， shuō ： wǒ méi yǒu jiàn guò nǐ 。

If he is destroyed from his place, then it will deny him, saying, ‘I have not seen you.’

看哪，這就是他道中之樂； 以後必另有人從地而生。

kàn nǎ ， zhè jiù shì tā dào zhōng zhī lè ； yǐ hòu bì lìng yǒu rén cóng dì ér shēng 。

Behold, this is the joy of his way. Out of the earth, others will spring.

上帝必不丟棄完全人， 也不扶助邪惡人。

shén bì bù diū qì wán quán rén ， yě bù fú zhù xié è rén 。

“Behold, God will not cast away a blameless man, neither will he uphold the evildoers.

他還要以喜笑充滿你的口， 以歡呼充滿你的嘴。

tā hái yào yǐ xǐ xiào chōng mǎn nǐ de kǒu ， yǐ huān hū chōng mǎn nǐ de zuǐ 。

He will still fill your mouth with laughter, your lips with shouting.

恨惡你的要披戴慚愧； 惡人的帳棚必歸於無有。

hèn è nǐ de yào pī dài cán kuì ； è rén de zhàng péng bì guī yú wú yǒu 。

Those who hate you will be clothed with shame. The tent of the wicked will be no more.”
