約書亞記 5

約旦河西亞摩利人的諸王和靠海迦南人的諸王，聽見耶和華在以色列人前面使約旦河的水乾了，等到我們過去，他們的心因以色列人的緣故就消化了，不再有膽氣。

yuē dàn hé xī yà mó lì rén de zhū wáng hé kào hǎi jiā nán rén de zhū wáng ， tīng jiàn yē hé huá zài yǐ sè liè rén qián miàn shǐ yuē dàn hé de shuǐ gān le ， děng dào wǒ men guò qù ， tā men de xīn yīn yǐ sè liè rén de yuán gù jiù xiāo huà le ， bú zài yǒu dǎn qì 。

When all the kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, who were by the sea, heard how the LORD had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel until we had crossed over, their heart melted, and there was no more spirit in them, because of the children of Israel.

那時，耶和華吩咐約書亞說：「你製造火石刀，第二次給以色列人行割禮。」

nà shí ， yē hé huá fēn fù yuē shū yà shuō ：「 nǐ zhì zào huǒ shí dāo ， dì èr cì gěi yǐ sè liè rén xíng gē lǐ 。」

At that time, the LORD said to Joshua, “Make flint knives, and circumcise again the sons of Israel the second time.”

約書亞就製造了火石刀，在「除皮山」那裏給以色列人行割禮。

yuē shū yà jiù zhì zào le huǒ shí dāo ， zài 「 chú pí shān 」 nà lǐ gěi yǐ sè liè rén xíng gē lǐ 。

Joshua made himself flint knives, and circumcised the sons of Israel at the hill of the foreskins.

約書亞行割禮的緣故，是因為從埃及出來的眾民，就是一切能打仗的男丁，出了埃及以後，都死在曠野的路上。

yuē shū yà xíng gē lǐ de yuán gù ， shì yīn wèi cóng āi jí chū lái de zhòng mín ， jiù shì yí qiè néng dǎ zhàng de nán dīng ， chū le āi jí yǐ hòu ， dōu sǐ zài kuàng yě de lù shang 。

This is the reason Joshua circumcised them: all the people who came out of Egypt, who were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness along the way, after they came out of Egypt.

因為出來的眾民都受過割禮；惟獨出埃及以後、在曠野的路上所生的眾民都沒有受過割禮。

yīn wèi chū lái de zhòng mín dōu shòu guò gē lǐ ； wéi dú chū āi jí yǐ hòu 、 zài kuàng yě de lù shang suǒ shēng de zhòng mín dōu méi yǒu shòu guò gē lǐ 。

For all the people who came out were circumcised; but all the people who were born in the wilderness along the way as they came out of Egypt had not been circumcised.

以色列人在曠野走了四十年，等到國民，就是出埃及的兵丁，都消滅了，因為他們沒有聽從耶和華的話。耶和華曾向他們起誓，必不容他們看見耶和華向他們列祖起誓、應許賜給我們的地，就是流奶與蜜之地。

yǐ sè liè rén zài kuàng yě zǒu le sì shí nián ， děng dào guó mín ， jiù shì chū āi jí de bīng dīng ， dōu xiāo miè le ， yīn wèi tā men méi yǒu tīng cóng yē hé huá de huà 。 yē hé huá céng xiàng tā men qǐ shì ， bì bù róng tā men kàn jiàn yē hé huá xiàng tā men liè zǔ qǐ shì 、 yīng xǔ cì gěi wǒ men de dì ， jiù shì liú nǎi yǔ mì zhī dì 。

For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness until all the nation, even the men of war who came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they didn’t listen to the LORD’s voice. The LORD swore to them that he wouldn’t let them see the land which the LORD swore to their fathers that he would give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.

他們的子孫，就是耶和華所興起來接續他們的，都沒有受過割禮；因為在路上沒有給他們行割禮，約書亞這才給他們行了。

tā men de zǐ sūn ， jiù shì yē hé huá suǒ xīng qǐ lái jiē xù tā men de ， dōu méi yǒu shòu guò gē lǐ ； yīn wèi zài lù shang méi yǒu gěi tā men xíng gē lǐ ， yuē shū yà zhè cái gěi tā men xíng le 。

Their children, whom he raised up in their place, were circumcised by Joshua, for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them on the way.

國民都受完了割禮，就住在營中自己的地方，等到痊癒了。

guó mín dōu shòu wán le gē lǐ ， jiù zhù zài yíng zhōng zì jǐ de dì fāng ， děng dào quán yù le 。

When they were done circumcising the whole nation, they stayed in their places in the camp until they were healed.

耶和華對約書亞說：「我今日將埃及的羞辱從你們身上滾去了。」因此，那地方名叫吉甲 ，直到今日。

yē hé huá duì yuē shū yà shuō ：「 wǒ jīn rì jiāng āi jí de xiū rǔ cóng nǐ men shēn shàng gǔn qù le 。」 yīn cǐ ， nà dì fāng míng jiào jí jiǎ ， zhí dào jīn rì 。

The LORD said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” Therefore the name of that place was called Gilgal to this day.

以色列人在吉甲安營。正月十四日晚上，在耶利哥的平原守逾越節。

yǐ sè liè rén zài jí jiǎ ān yíng 。 zhēng yuè shí sì rì wǎn shàng ， zài yē lì gē de píng yuán shǒu yú yuè jié 。

The children of Israel encamped in Gilgal. They kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at evening in the plains of Jericho.

逾越節的次日，他們就吃了那地的出產；正當那日吃無酵餅和烘的穀。

yú yuè jié de cì rì ， tā men jiù chī le nà dì de chū chǎn ； zhèng dāng nà rì chī wú jiào bǐng hé hōng de gǔ 。

They ate unleavened cakes and parched grain of the produce of the land on the next day after the Passover, in the same day.

他們吃了那地的出產，第二日嗎哪就止住了，以色列人也不再有嗎哪了。那一年，他們卻吃迦南地的出產。

tā men chī le nà dì de chū chǎn ， dì èr rì ma nǎ jiù zhǐ zhù le ， yǐ sè liè rén yě bú zài yǒu ma nǎ le 。 nà yì nián ， tā men què chī jiā nán dì de chū chǎn 。

The manna ceased on the next day, after they had eaten of the produce of the land. The children of Israel didn’t have manna any more, but they ate of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.

約書亞靠近耶利哥的時候，舉目觀看，不料，有一個人手裏有拔出來的刀，對面站立。約書亞到他那裏，問他說：「你是幫助我們呢，是幫助我們敵人呢？」

yuē shū yà kào jìn yē lì gē de shí hòu ， jǔ mù guān kàn ， bú liào ， yǒu yí gè rén shǒu lǐ yǒu bá chū lái de dāo ， duì miàn zhàn lì 。 yuē shū yà dào tā nà lǐ ， wèn tā shuō ：「 nǐ shì bāng zhù wǒ men ne ， shì bāng zhù wǒ men dí rén ne ？」

When Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man stood in front of him with his sword drawn in his hand. Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us, or for our enemies?”

他回答說：「不是的，我來是要作耶和華軍隊的元帥。」約書亞就俯伏在地下拜，說：「我主有甚麼話吩咐僕人。」

tā huí dá shuō ：「 bú shì de ， wǒ lái shì yào zuò yē hé huá jūn duì de yuán shuài 。」 yuē shū yà jiù fǔ fú zài dì xià bài ， shuō ：「 wǒ zhǔ yǒu shén me huà fēn fù pú rén 。」

He said, “No; but I have come now as commander of the LORD’s army.” Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and worshiped, and asked him, “What does my lord say to his servant?”

耶和華軍隊的元帥對約書亞說：「把你腳上的鞋脫下來，因為你所站的地方是聖的。」約書亞就照着行了。

yē hé huá jūn duì de yuán shuài duì yuē shū yà shuō ：「 bǎ nǐ jiǎo shàng de xié tuō xià lái ， yīn wèi nǐ suǒ zhàn de dì fāng shì shèng de 。」 yuē shū yà jiù zhào zhe xíng le 。

The prince of the LORD’s army said to Joshua, “Take off your sandals, for the place on which you stand is holy.” Joshua did so.
