箴言 30

雅基的兒子亞古珥的言語就是真言。 這人對以鐵和烏甲說：

yǎ jī de ér zi yà gǔ ěr de yán yǔ jiù shì zhēn yán 。 zhè rén duì yǐ tiě hé wū jiǎ shuō ：

The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, the revelation: the man says to Ithiel, to Ithiel and Ucal:

我比眾人更蠢笨， 也沒有人的聰明。

wǒ bǐ zhòng rén gèng chǔn bèn ， yě méi yǒu rén de cōng ming 。

“Surely I am the most ignorant man, and don’t have a man’s understanding.

我沒有學好智慧， 也不認識至聖者。

wǒ méi yǒu xué hǎo zhì huì ， yě bú rèn shi zhì shèng zhě 。

I have not learned wisdom, neither do I have the knowledge of the Holy One.

誰升天又降下來？ 誰聚風在掌握中？ 誰包水在衣服裏？ 誰立定地的四極？ 他名叫甚麼？ 他兒子名叫甚麼？ 你知道嗎？

shuí shēng tiān yòu jiàng xià lái ？ shuí jù fēng zài zhǎng wò zhōng ？ shuí bāo shuǐ zài yī fu lǐ ？ shuí lì dìng dì de sì jí ？ tā míng jiào shén me ？ tā ér zi míng jiào shén me ？ nǐ zhī dào ma ？

Who has ascended up into heaven, and descended? Who has gathered the wind in his fists? Who has bound the waters in his garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son’s name, if you know?

上帝的言語句句都是煉淨的； 投靠他的，他便作他們的盾牌。

shén de yán yǔ jù jù dōu shì liàn jìng de ； tóu kào tā de ， tā biàn zuò tā men de dùn pái 。

“Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

他的言語，你不可加添， 恐怕他責備你，你就顯為說謊言的。

tā de yán yǔ ， nǐ bù kě jiā tiān ， kǒng pà tā zé bèi nǐ ， nǐ jiù xiǎn wèi shuō huǎng yán de 。

Don’t you add to his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar.

我求你兩件事， 在我未死之先，不要不賜給我：

wǒ qiú nǐ liǎng jiàn shì ， zài wǒ wèi sǐ zhī xiān ， bú yào bú cì gěi wǒ ：

“Two things I have asked of you. Don’t deny me before I die.

求你使虛假和謊言遠離我； 使我也不貧窮也不富足； 賜給我需用的飲食，

qiú nǐ shǐ xū jiǎ hé huǎng yán yuǎn lí wǒ ； shǐ wǒ yě bù pín qióng yě bú fù zú ； cì gěi wǒ xū yòng de yǐn shí ，

Remove far from me falsehood and lies. Give me neither poverty nor riches. Feed me with the food that is needful for me,

恐怕我飽足不認你，說： 耶和華是誰呢？ 又恐怕我貧窮就偷竊， 以致褻瀆我上帝的名。

kǒng pà wǒ bǎo zú bú rèn nǐ ， shuō ： yē hé huá shì shuí ne ？ yòu kǒng pà wǒ pín qióng jiù tōu qiè ， yǐ zhì xiè dú wǒ shén de míng 。

lest I be full, deny you, and say, ‘Who is the LORD?’ or lest I be poor, and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.

你不要向主人讒謗僕人， 恐怕他咒詛你，你便算為有罪。

nǐ bú yào xiàng zhǔ rén chán bàng pú rén ， kǒng pà tā zhòu zǔ nǐ ， nǐ biàn suàn wèi yǒu zuì 。

“Don’t slander a servant to his master, lest he curse you, and you be held guilty.

有一宗人 ，咒詛父親， 不給母親祝福。

yǒu yì zōng rén ， zhòu zǔ fù qīn ， bù gěi mǔ qīn zhù fú 。

There is a generation that curses their father, and doesn’t bless their mother.

有一宗人，自以為清潔， 卻沒有洗去自己的污穢。

yǒu yì zōng rén ， zì yǐ wéi qīng jié ， què méi yǒu xǐ qù zì jǐ de wū huì 。

There is a generation that is pure in their own eyes, yet are not washed from their filthiness.

有一宗人，眼目何其高傲， 眼皮也是高舉。

yǒu yì zōng rén ， yǎn mù hé qí gāo ào ， yǎn pí yě shì gāo jǔ 。

There is a generation, oh how lofty are their eyes! Their eyelids are lifted up.

有一宗人，牙如劍，齒如刀， 要吞滅地上的困苦人和世間的窮乏人。

yǒu yì zōng rén ， yá rú jiàn ， chǐ rú dāo ， yào tūn miè dì shàng de kùn kǔ rén hé shì jiān de qióng fá rén 。

There is a generation whose teeth are like swords, and their jaws like knives, to devour the poor from the earth, and the needy from among men.

螞蟥有兩個女兒， 常說：給呀，給呀！ 有三樣不知足的， 連不說「夠的」共有四樣：

mǎ huáng yǒu liǎng gè nǚ ér ， cháng shuō ： gěi ya ， gěi ya ！ yǒu sān yàng bù zhī zú de ， lián bù shuō 「 gòu de 」 gòng yǒu sì yàng ：

“The leech has two daughters: ‘Give, give.’ “There are three things that are never satisfied; four that don’t say, ‘Enough!’:

就是陰間和石胎， 浸水不足的地，並火。

jiù shì yīn jiān hé shí tāi ， jìn shuǐ bù zú de dì ， bìng huǒ 。

Sheol, the barren womb, the earth that is not satisfied with water, and the fire that doesn’t say, ‘Enough!’

戲笑父親、藐視而不聽從母親的， 他的眼睛必為谷中的烏鴉啄出來，為鷹雛所吃。

xì xiào fù qīn 、 miǎo shì ér bù tīng cóng mǔ qīn de ， tā de yǎn jīng bì wèi gǔ zhōng de wū yā zhuó chū lái ， wèi yīng chú suǒ chī 。

“The eye that mocks at his father, and scorns obedience to his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, the young eagles shall eat it.

我所測不透的奇妙有三樣， 連我所不知道的共有四樣：

wǒ suǒ cè bú tòu de qí miào yǒu sān yàng ， lián wǒ suǒ bù zhī dào de gòng yǒu sì yàng ：

“There are three things which are too amazing for me, four which I don’t understand:

就是鷹在空中飛的道； 蛇在磐石上爬的道； 船在海中行的道； 男與女交合的道。

jiù shì yīng zài kōng zhōng fēi de dào ； shé zài pán shí shàng pá de dào ； chuán zài hǎi zhōng háng de dào ； nán yǔ nǚ jiāo hé de dào 。

The way of an eagle in the air, the way of a serpent on a rock, the way of a ship in the middle of the sea, and the way of a man with a maiden.

淫婦的道也是這樣： 她吃了，把嘴一擦就說： 我沒有行惡。

yín fù de dào yě shì zhè yàng ： tā chī le ， bǎ zuǐ yì cā jiù shuō ： wǒ méi yǒu xíng è 。

“So is the way of an adulterous woman: She eats and wipes her mouth, and says, ‘I have done nothing wrong.’

使地震動的有三樣， 連地擔不起的共有四樣：

shǐ dì zhèn dòng de yǒu sān yàng ， lián dì dān bù qǐ de gòng yǒu sì yàng ：

“For three things the earth trembles, and under four, it can’t bear up:

就是僕人作王； 愚頑人吃飽；

jiù shì pú rén zuò wáng ； yú wán rén chī bǎo ；

For a servant when he is king, a fool when he is filled with food,

醜惡的女子出嫁； 婢女接續主母。

chǒu è de nǚ zǐ chū jià ； bì nǚ jiē xù zhǔ mǔ 。

for an unloved woman when she is married, and a servant who is heir to her mistress.

地上有四樣小物，卻甚聰明：

dì shàng yǒu sì yàng xiǎo wù ， què shèn cōng ming ：

“There are four things which are little on the earth, but they are exceedingly wise:

螞蟻是無力之類， 卻在夏天預備糧食。

mǎ yǐ shì wú lì zhī lèi ， què zài xià tiān yù bèi liáng shí 。

The ants are not a strong people, yet they provide their food in the summer.

沙番是軟弱之類， 卻在磐石中造房。

shā fān shì ruǎn ruò zhī lèi ， què zài pán shí zhōng zào fáng 。

The hyraxes are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks.

蝗蟲沒有君王， 卻分隊而出。

huáng chóng méi yǒu jūn wáng ， què fēn duì ér chū 。

The locusts have no king, yet they advance in ranks.

守宮用爪抓牆， 卻住在王宮。

shǒu gōng yòng zhuǎ zhuā qiáng ， què zhù zài wáng gōng 。

You can catch a lizard with your hands, yet it is in kings’ palaces.

步行威武的有三樣， 連行走威武的共有四樣：

bù xíng wēi wǔ de yǒu sān yàng ， lián xíng zǒu wēi wǔ de gòng yǒu sì yàng ：

“There are three things which are stately in their march, four which are stately in going:

就是獅子－乃百獸中最為猛烈、無所躲避的，

jiù shì shī zi — nǎi bǎi shòu zhōng zuì wèi měng liè 、 wú suǒ duǒ bì de ，

The lion, which is mightiest among animals, and doesn’t turn away for any;

獵狗，公山羊，和無人能敵的君王。

liè gǒu ， gōng shān yáng ， hé wú rén néng dí de jūn wáng 。

the greyhound; the male goat; and the king against whom there is no rising up.

你若行事愚頑，自高自傲， 或是懷了惡念，就當用手摀口。

nǐ ruò xíng shì yú wán ， zì gāo zì ào ， huò shì huái le è niàn ， jiù dāng yòng shǒu wǔ kǒu 。

“If you have done foolishly in lifting up yourself, or if you have thought evil, put your hand over your mouth.

搖牛奶必成奶油； 扭鼻子必出血。 照樣，激動怒氣必起爭端。

yáo niú nǎi bì chéng nǎi yóu ； niǔ bí zi bì chū xuè 。 zhào yàng ， jī dòng nù qì bì qǐ zhēng duān 。

For as the churning of milk produces butter, and the wringing of the nose produces blood, so the forcing of wrath produces strife.”
