箴言 5

我兒，要留心我智慧的話語， 側耳聽我聰明的言詞，

wǒ ér ， yào liú xīn wǒ zhì huì de huà yǔ ， cè ěr tīng wǒ cōng ming de yán cí ，

My son, pay attention to my wisdom. Turn your ear to my understanding,

為要使你謹守謀略， 嘴唇保存知識。

wèi yào shǐ nǐ jǐn shǒu móu lüè ， zuǐ chún bǎo cún zhī shi 。

that you may maintain discretion, that your lips may preserve knowledge.

因為淫婦的嘴滴下蜂蜜； 她的口比油更滑，

yīn wèi yín fù de zuǐ dī xià fēng mì ； tā de kǒu bǐ yóu gèng huá ，

For the lips of an adulteress drip honey. Her mouth is smoother than oil,

至終卻苦似茵蔯， 快如兩刃的刀。

zhì zhōng què kǔ sì yīn ， kuài rú liǎng rèn de dāo 。

but in the end she is as bitter as wormwood, and as sharp as a two-edged sword.

她的腳下入死地； 她腳步踏住陰間，

tā de jiǎo xià rù sǐ dì ； tā jiǎo bù tà zhù yīn jiān ，

Her feet go down to death. Her steps lead straight to Sheol.

以致她找不着生命平坦的道。 她的路變遷不定， 自己還不知道。

yǐ zhì tā zhǎo bù zhe shēng mìng píng tǎn de dào 。 tā de lù biàn qiān bú dìng ， zì jǐ hái bù zhī dào 。

She gives no thought to the way of life. Her ways are crooked, and she doesn’t know it.

眾子啊，現在要聽從我； 不可離棄我口中的話。

zhòng zǐ a ， xiàn zài yào tīng cóng wǒ ； bù kě lí qì wǒ kǒu zhōng de huà 。

Now therefore, my sons, listen to me. Don’t depart from the words of my mouth.

你所行的道要離她遠， 不可就近她的房門，

nǐ suǒ xíng de dào yào lí tā yuǎn ， bù kě jiù jìn tā de fáng mén ，

Remove your way far from her. Don’t come near the door of her house,

恐怕將你的尊榮給別人， 將你的歲月給殘忍的人；

kǒng pà jiāng nǐ de zūn róng gěi bié rén ， jiāng nǐ de suì yuè gěi cán rěn de rén ；

lest you give your honor to others, and your years to the cruel one;

恐怕外人滿得你的力量， 你勞碌得來的，歸入外人的家；

kǒng pà wài rén mǎn dé nǐ de lì liàng ， nǐ láo lù dé lái de ， guī rù wài rén de jiā ；

lest strangers feast on your wealth, and your labors enrich another man’s house.

終久，你皮肉和身體消毀， 你就悲歎，

zhōng jiǔ ， nǐ pí ròu hé shēn tǐ xiāo huǐ ， nǐ jiù bēi tàn ，

You will groan at your latter end, when your flesh and your body are consumed,

說：我怎麼恨惡訓誨， 心中藐視責備，

shuō ： wǒ zěn me hèn è xùn huì ， xīn zhōng miǎo shì zé bèi ，

and say, “How I have hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof.

也不聽從我師傅的話， 又不側耳聽那教訓我的人？

yě bù tīng cóng wǒ shī fu de huà ， yòu bú cè ěr tīng nà jiào xùn wǒ de rén ？

I haven’t obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor turned my ear to those who instructed me!

我在聖會裏， 幾乎落在諸般惡中。

wǒ zài shèng huì lǐ ， jī hū luò zài zhū bān è zhōng 。

I have come to the brink of utter ruin, among the gathered assembly.”

你要喝自己池中的水， 飲自己井裏的活水。

nǐ yào hē zì jǐ chí zhōng de shuǐ ， yǐn zì jǐ jǐng lǐ de huó shuǐ 。

Drink water out of your own cistern, running water out of your own well.

你的泉源豈可漲溢在外？ 你的河水豈可流在街上？

nǐ de quán yuán qǐ kě zhǎng yì zài wài ？ nǐ de hé shuǐ qǐ kě liú zài jiē shàng ？

Should your springs overflow in the streets, streams of water in the public squares?

惟獨歸你一人， 不可與外人同用。

wéi dú guī nǐ yì rén ， bù kě yǔ wài rén tóng yòng 。

Let them be for yourself alone, not for strangers with you.

要使你的泉源蒙福； 要喜悅你幼年所娶的妻。

yào shǐ nǐ de quán yuán méng fú ； yào xǐ yuè nǐ yòu nián suǒ qǔ de qī 。

Let your spring be blessed. Rejoice in the wife of your youth.

她如可愛的麀鹿，可喜的母鹿； 願她的胸懷使你時時知足， 她的愛情使你常常戀慕。

tā rú kě ài de yōu lù ， kě xǐ de mǔ lù ； yuàn tā de xiōng huái shǐ nǐ shí shí zhī zú ， tā de ài qíng shǐ nǐ cháng cháng liàn mù 。

A loving doe and a graceful deer— let her breasts satisfy you at all times. Be captivated always with her love.

我兒，你為何戀慕淫婦？ 為何抱外女的胸懷？

wǒ ér ， nǐ wèi hé liàn mù yín fù ？ wèi hé bào wài nǚ de xiōng huái ？

For why should you, my son, be captivated with an adulteress? Why embrace the bosom of another?

因為，人所行的道都在耶和華眼前； 他也修平人一切的路。

yīn wèi ， rén suǒ xíng de dào dōu zài yē hé huá yǎn qián ； tā yě xiū píng rén yí qiè de lù 。

For the ways of man are before the LORD’s eyes. He examines all his paths.

惡人必被自己的罪孽捉住； 他必被自己的罪惡如繩索纏繞。

è rén bì bèi zì jǐ de zuì niè zhuō zhù ； tā bì bèi zì jǐ de zuì è rú shéng suǒ chán rào 。

The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare him. The cords of his sin hold him firmly.

他因不受訓誨就必死亡； 又因愚昧過甚，必走差了路。

tā yīn bú shòu xùn huì jiù bì sǐ wáng ； yòu yīn yú mèi guò shèn ， bì zǒu chà le lù 。

He will die for lack of instruction. In the greatness of his folly, he will go astray.
